david.dakota Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I seem to recall that some older Blu-ray players don't handle some of the newer disks with added extras. I even seem to recall that the PS3 was, due to upgradable firmware, the only truly futureproof BD Player. Is this correct?
Guest Jordan Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That is indeed the case, not only is the PS3 the best value for money Blu Ray player, but all future technologies can be added to it.
McPhee Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 You're ok with the new generation of Blu-Ray players. They're all profile 2.0 and retail at around the £200 mark. If the BDA decide to add features these players *should* be able to take them too.
