Hellfire Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 A lot of ass kissing in that interview.... "Thank you very much. And congratulations on a very strong year of Nintendo software." What? And hammering in a Wii Music refference whilst talking about other platforms' games such as Spore and LBP? Super Smash Bros Brawl Mario Kart Wii Music Wii Fit Animal Crossing Disaster Fatal Frame (Japan) Captain Rainbow (Japan) Wario Land Mario Sluggers Endless Ocean (US) Wii Chess (lol) Like some or not, it was a strong year for Nintendo software Just Mario Kart and Brawl alone make it a fucking amazing year. Also, LBP and Spore can be linked to Wii Music, as they're about music creation and how can you be near Miyamoto and not kiss his ass?It has nothing to do with fanboyism, like many said, the guy's a freaking legend.
... Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Until you add Brawl and Mario Kart to that list, I see no reason to take your comments seriously. You haven't bought Miyamoto's games from this year, yet you say he's done nothing for the core?!? I don't buy fighters nor racers. Not my cup of tea.
Hellfire Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I don't buy fighters nor racers. Not my cup of tea. Not Miyamoto's problem either. With all the great games that came out for Wii this year, you either really aren't into the kind of games Wii has, so you should turn your badge in or you really don't want to accept that good games came out, regardless if you like them or not
... Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I'm into exactly the same type of games I've been all my life and the Wii is being exactly what I expect from a Nintendo console. I know very well what to expect from Nintendo and my tastes, you're really barking at the wrong tree here, with your by now well rehearsed speech. You have no right to speak about my "Nintendo badge", I've been wearing it since before Portugal knew what Nintendo was.
Hellfire Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Not your Nintendo badge, your Wii badge lol By that I mean if you hardly liked anything out this year, Wii is most likely not the main console for you, so maybe you should try another one out. Simple math, not an attack, insult or a well rehearsed speech (but if you find it a good speech thank you, I rehearsed it for a good 15 seconds), if after a good year of software, you don't find good software for you, makes perfect sense. No need to go on defense mode, no one's attacking you. Go polish your Nintendo badge. He understands spoken english very well but doesn't speak more than a few words of it. So, he talks through a translator as others have mentioned, but he can understand english without him. He didn't use to hang around with a translator all the time like now, at least I don't remember so. My guess it's because of all the badly translated and misunderstood reviews that were always appearing.

So you want good games but only the ones that fulfil your own special requirements? What do you expect us to tell you other than tough luck? It seems that you DON'T know what to expect from Nintendo.
Emasher Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I don't buy fighters nor racers. Not my cup of tea. Fair enough, if SSBB was just a generic beat em up, and Mario Kart was just a generic realistic racer, that is. SSBB is almost more of an action game than a fighter, and Mario Kart is by no means a generic racer. What genre do you like anyway?

No need to go on defense mode, no one's attacking you. Go polish your Nintendo badge. Ok, my bad, sorry about the small overreaction. But you do have this speech that you present to many people from time to time. Everyone knows it. Anyway, Nintendo has always been and still is my no. 1 games company. It may appear that I'm dissatisfied with the Wii, but I'm not. Like I said, it's exactly what I expected, I was in no way misled (yes, Shino, I know exactly what to expect from Nintendo). And btw, I did order an Xbox 360 this week, should receive it next week, cause it has many games that I think are good. And for the record, this will be my first non Nintendo console, ever. So you want good games but only the ones that fulfil your own special requirements? Err.... yeah? Is that wrong in any way? I don't buy games that don't fulfil "my requirements" (I'd call them my tastes...) just because they're from a certain company. Emasher, yeah, Mario Kart isn't a generic racer, but it's still a racer. Now this may seem strange to most people, but to me racers have almost 0 replay value. I bought the GC with MKDD bundled in, got all gold medals in 2 weeks and never touched it again. However I must say I did have a great time with a bunch of friends with MK64's multiplayer back in 1998. And that's what those games, both MK and SSB, mostly are, multiplayer games, in addition to being a "racer" and a "fighter", respectively. I am mostly, and always have been, a single player game type of gamer. So to more or less answer your question, games I like are adventure single player games, be it platformers, FPS, action-RPGs, stealth, straight adventure, that kind of thing. So, to drop a few names, Mario, Zelda and Metroid. What a surprise, huh? And similar games, like, I loved Banjo Kazooie on the N64, I'm loving Okami on the Wii and Metroid has nothing similar to it out there. I generally like games that require you to think and give you a certain mood. I generally DON'T like straight mindless shooters (although The Conduit has my interest and will have my money too, unless something goes horribly wrong). And Nintendo has these games, they just don't have 50 of each, they never did and probably never will, I don't see them changing. Nintendo is that company that will release the best games there is but not in quantity. That's what I expect from them, quality. And the Wii is delivering, as usual. And I'm not the type of player that has a big collection and plays game after game so I don't really care about quantity. I have friends that pirate games, they have like 200 games and play none. What's the point? And I have no idea how the conversation got to this point... I guess this is my way of saying that I'm not complaining about "lack of games", although it may have seemed like it to some of you. Because due to the very limited range of type of games that I get, I'm used to "lack of games". And I've never bought more games than I do now, that I have my own money. In the N64 days, cartridges were very expensive and it was my mom that bought me the games. I remember Majora's Mask cost me (converting it to euros which didn't exist back then) €110! The game itself was €75 but it required the RAM expansion pack, which was €35. Turok, game only, cost me €90. Now on top of having my own money to spend, I can buy used games for €20 on the net. I don't think people today realize how hard and expensive it was to get games only 10 years ago. So you kinda got used to few games a year. I hope the post makes sense, I rambled on for quite a bit there...
stuwii Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 It would still kick ass. I actually want that Mario paintball with Mario characters or even Super Smash bros 3d
