I was having a wonder through Metroid earlier, and noticed the Wii disk drive was whizzing like a mini tornado. I say 'noticed', but it was pretty hard to not to notice, it was surprising loud.

Marginally worried, i went straight back to the menu thinking this would cure it... No. The Whizzing still whizzed. A little more worried, i popped in Zelda to which, low and behold, i was greated with a normal slight whirr of my Wii.

I never noticed such a racket when playing through Metroid last year. Does Metroid have, i don't know, ball barings inside? Any thoughts?

That can happen sometimes, with any disc, if I understand what you're saying. It would appear sometimes a disc may be loaded at a slight angle by the self loading drive, which would cause such a buzzing sound. I had that problem with Zack & Wiki. I would load that disc and it would buzz. I would load any other and it wouldn't buzz. But then I loaded Zack again and it wouldn't buzz anymore. So, I guess it may be what I said about a disc not being inserted correctly, not by the user, but by the self loading drive.
