mr_bogus Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I think marketing has a lot to do with the successful sales of a console - in the entire cube's lifespan i remember seeing 1 10-second TV spot for Metroid Prime, compared to eg. the Playstation 2 logo being everywhere you looked. DS and Wii are everywhere you look. Everyone's brainwashed by the marketing all around them, so everyone's talking about them and that makes the hype mill turn. The advertising explosion this gen has paid off for Nintendo. Same with the software. Same with music CD's. Same with DVD's. You spend money to make money, and the biggest sellers are often the ones that get the biggest advertising budgets.
