Stupid TV is Pal and Grrr Uh Grr

Hooked up my laptop to the TV using an S-Video cable, (which may be the problem to begin with,) and Im trying to change the output to Pal but it comes up with loads like

 

Pal_M

Pal_N

etc etc

 

I've chose them all, but the TV is still only producing a black and white image, it's annoying me lots.

 

Help.
