  1. My experience with Agencies was more like EvilMurrays'. It was a time slip once a week. But they are always going to screw you over, leave you on the emergency tax code and probably fuck up your pay from time to time. I've had an angency mess up my wage, one didnt give a pay rise that they should of done, mess up my tax so much I ended up owing hundreds.

Keep applying for contracted work and remember you're not on contract, they need you as you need them, they need a reliable worker who wont screw up the relationship with the company. And the amount of money they get from you and often without much effort on their part.....

  2. Theyve gone too far now. Apparently Forbidden Planet in Manchester has been hit.

lol, it shouldnt but it made me laugh. There are Sikh people stood outside in London protecting their temple, we could have geeks protecting their temple

  3. On the contrary, in our region some clever spark decided we could use it as free press. They made a Mii called GAME which has the greeting set to "Trade In To Save".

The Regional Manager liked it so much he's asked us all to ensure we have StreetPass on with the message and such. Clever idea.

Sounds like you work for Tom Nook.

  4. I think as long as its shut and the wireless is on then its fine. I tend to use the Nintendogs pedometer and it still picks up street pass people.

thank you confirming that Ash, not managed to pick up anyone while using nintendogs pedometre so far, so was beginning to wonder if it interferred.

  5. Took my 3ds into Bradford today and was surprised, I got 6 passes, i used them for the puzzel challenge, but exited out of the software, not knowing i then couldnt use them on the rpg game. Also had a streetfighter streetpass battle and lost and a nintendogs streetpass moment - saw a pic of their kitten, got a free bottle of water then played with their dog in the park.

So I think i did better than expected.

  6. I went in GAME as heard they were offering the chance to play on it but when I asked they had stopped doing so because somebody tried to steal it. I'm still a bit paranoid that i won't be able to see the 3D, dunno why not got any particular eye problems but I can't ever see magic eye pictures!

As I've cited many times before with me moving to Canada at some point next year. There seems no point in buying one here, (I've seen videos of region locking JPN cart in NA machine assume the same applies to EU machine) so its no biggie for now.

Do you not know anyone who lives close to you, you could test their 3ds? You could order a canadian 3ds, http://www.videogamesplus.ca, ship out canadian games and systems, they're reliable, fast and pretty cheap. Had used them for original ds games.

  7. I personally dont understand why battery life is such a big issue. More than likely you wouldnt be playing it at full capacity (full brightness, wifi, 3d, speakers turned on) that often. You'd be more likely to play it at medium brightness, wifi on when you plan to play online or have it in sleep / streetpass mode and i tend to use headphone for playing games in public. So for casual use out of the home I'd expect you'd get a bit more battery life - and unless you often go on long journeys you should be fine. And when you are at home using it, youre not far from your adapter.

  8. I think it's funny how bummed out everyone is over the launch line up. Granted there isnt a great AAA title out yet, but this is one of the better launch line ups we have seen. The original DS had Mario 64 and Feel the Magic as the only half decent launch titles, then in the first few months after we only really had Yoshi Touch and Go and Wario Ware to entertain us. I remember for the first year of having my DS, not playing it much, just waiting for decent games.

With the 3DS, we have some interesting launch titles and we wont have to wait long for some great releases, we should get OOT within 3/4 months.

  9. In the booklet it says;

    Lens:single focus

    Image pickup device: CMOS

    Valid pixels: about 300,000

From using the 3DS at a roadshow I'd say maybe there is a slight improvement, but nothing great. I probably felt most underwhelmed by the camera, didnt help taking pictures in a busy environment with loads of people around.

  10. All major supermarkets are giving a free little advertisement book, not much in there you wont know, it lists the applications, also lists some of the camera modes; pinhole, sparkle, mystery, low light and dream. It also mentions with the streetpass option, you can set up to 12 games at one time to be using street pass, while the 3ds is in sleep mode.

  11. I really wasn't impressed by this film. I have to admit if I wasn't with my boyfriend, I would of walked out.

I know i'll be the exception, as I was with disliking Inception. I don't like films with no clear plot or ones which become complicated just for the sake of it. For 3/4 of Black Swan I felt like was waiting for it to start.
