  1. Maybe I'm one of the few that enjoys this games presentation and how I don't really care for a main story but more I can't wait to see what troubles are lurking in this new town. This game is pretty much buying like getting a show like Mushishi and enjoying each episode (Island) and then get excited once cured on how the town has gone. Then starting all over again.

    /shrug

It's prob the reason why it's my fav game to date is because it takes story telling in a completely different way that well, no other JRPG does.

  2. Patch 3.4 is out next week and I can not wait to dive into all the new juicy content, see where the story is heading to in the next expansion as well as the conclusion of the Alexander raid which I can't wait to see how crazy Savage ver will be :D Also The Goddess Sophia from the warring triads, really awesome to see the statues from FFVI in this game and seeing them in such amazing graphics.

  3. Up to 10 hours so far the game is exactly as I remember it back in the PS1 era, with of course better graphics and all. One of the little details to the game I'm really enjoying is being on the main island and seeing more and more islands from the distant. Kinda want to finish the game so I can replay it just to see everything bare again.

  4. Well, there's a forum member I haven't seen in a while!

Nothing to really talk about really and I spent a lot of time into FFXIV, and no one really talks about the game here to /shrug.

But since a good Dragon Quest game has finally made it's way to the west I thought I better pop in and say hi.

I'm about 10 hours in now and while I'm enjoying the game the story seems a bit disjointed. It feels like I'm just constantly jumping from island to island, each with its own self contained story. There doesn't seem to be any big overall story at the moment.

That's kind of the core of the game, it's more about learning to love the world and people in it, there is a main story, but you'll understand how it's connected in due time. But it's for that reason alone I love this game so much, it's not just a typical game of going to town to town and forgetting where you just were. You spend a bit of time helping and growing with the people in each town. It's the biggest adventure game I've ever played of a JRPG.

  6. (unlike, for example, saying Sonic 06 is the best Sonic).

What do ya mean? It's my favorite sonic, it was the one game that showed what Sonic was truly all about, all the others are crap IMO, whenever I'm working in a game store from time to time, I get asked by parents what's the best sonic, I say right away Sonic 06. Because that's how much of a great person I am.

  7. I just can't understand how anyone can possibly think that. The levels are bog standard NSMB fare, the same predictable stuff we've gotten three times previously and the usual left to right with a few obstacles and easily uncovered hidden bits behind walls.

You mean eight, with that mind set, every Mario game since Mario Bros came out are bog standard, Mario 3 and Super Mario World are also terrible design since you go from left to right.

  8. So, i've been reading stuff about the game on various sites ( been on the look out for confirmation of voice chat ) and it seems the host of a town can now finally boot a person out of said town. This will make getting people in the same town much easier than it was on Tri. It was a nightmare when a random person would enter and wouldn't leave. Of course you wouldn't have this problem if you could have 8 players in town like on the original game. Two generations on and Capcom have seemed to have gone backwards. ::shrug:

Just be glad, this is capcom we are talking about, I'm very surprised they let us play online for free.

  9. Wow page 6 and already talk about how it should change everything it's about. Final Fantasy does that and it's been stronger than it's ever been in it's life as a series.

also Pokemon's overworld should be more like Xenoblades and Dragon Quest X more than anything if they want to improve.

Visible pokemon coming alive, while running around, hook that shit to my vein!

I don't expect a lot out of this pokemon in terms of how rich it'll be since it's their first attempt at 3D, but next gen pokemon I hope for the love of God they create a rich 3D world. (But then again, Dragon Quest VII remake is looking better than what I have seen so far for Pokemon X and Y gamefreaks need to step up their game.)
