    Not sure if they help or not? I'm not too clued up on exactly what Android handsets are about at the moment, but why the Wildfire S? It seems a bit low-spec for an Android handset to me, especially given the Orange San Fran was available with better specs for less money 12 months ago.

    So... The Sun illegally obtained medical records on Gordon Brown's son. The Sunday Times illegally obtained his financial and property records. And NotW illegally obtained the Royal 'Green Book', as well as (rumoured) hacking the voicemails of 9/11 victims.

     

    If this week carries on like this then the walls are going to start falling. The possibility that the rot is present in not just The Sun, but also The Times is going to irreversibly damage News International. If they've been at the voicemail inboxes of 9/11 victims then expect the public uproar to spread stateside.

     

    It's a weird feeling thinking that by the time 2012 comes around we might have an unrecognisable media, one that is considerably less powerful that before.

    Was £1.49 yesterday. It's been in the sale 3 times in this run!

     

    I was reading how many copies they'd sold the other day (figures from before the Steam sale, so $9.99 each). 555,000. Yup, that's $5,550,000 (less whatever Steam take as retailer). Probably a good $4 Million has gone to the developer. That is insane. The game is good and all, but I never thought they would make a serious life-changing sum from it. Anyone else thing they're in the wrong profession?

    The idea that The Guardian might be implicated in phone hacking is quite laughable. They would have to be incredibly stupid to have had any involvement in such activities given they have been running stories on such activities for 9 years now.

     

    The Daily Mail and The Sun on the other hand... I think it's just a matter of time before some wrongdoing is uncovered. The Daily Mail put more business the way of these very same private investigators than any other news outlet (and by quite some way). With The Sun, assuming such practices are indeed endemic to News International as a whole (i.e. the decisions were made above Editorial level) then it's only a matter of time before something is uncovered on them as well.

    The entire readership could continue to buy it and it wouldn't matter, advertisers were pulling out because of pressure from customers. No advertisers = no paper. It would have become financially unviable. Some retailers were also talking about dropping it from their shelves due to public outcry. If a national supermarket publicly dropped the paper then it would only be a matter of time before others followed and it died.

    Many thanks to McPhee for server space. Was it an open game? If we get enough regular players could password it and cut some of the auto balence.

     

    I found pyro one of the hardest to play. Very much gotta play ambush and then run away to stay alive. Only really started doing well with degreaser/axetingusher combo.

     

    It wasn't my server :p

     

    I just picked a random, unoccupied one with a low ping and decent map rotation. I used to have admin access to a couple, but the clan that ran them disbanded their TF2 servers :( If people play regularly I'll rent a server off Mulitplay. If it's busy I'll move to a better, debranded host.

     

    I really want to get into this and I feel like a multiplayer match with your guys is the way to do it. I'll download it tonight and probably be on a helluva lot next week if you guys are? My steam name, incidentally, is Nintendohnut :)

    Aren't Hotmail addresses now @live.com or @live.co.uk? Mine is.

     

    I've also got that horrendous @googlemail.com address that I need to get changed, the prefix I use makes it 25 characters long which is just silly. @gmail.com is much more sensible (and actually, if I use it I tend to get the emails eventually anyway).

    So, in a nutshell, you think Hotmail is terrible because it wasn't as good 7 years ago as Gmail is now? Then, in an attempt to justify your obviously flawed opinion, you hop back on to Hotmail, spend 2 minutes with it and then declare that you were right?

    Google Mail is pretty cool, sure, but comparing it to Hotmail is like comparing Apples and Pears. Both are good, but different. Hotmail does indeed have some features that Google Mail does not, just like Google Mail has more advanced email labelling, the Priority Inbox and Labs. Hotmail has both Live Messenger and Facebook Chat built in to the client. There's also pre-made filters for pulling up emails from Social Networks, certain contacts or groups of contacts. You can right click and you can also drag + drop, which can be useful. There's probably others, but I don't really have any need to use the advanced features of either on a daily basis.

     

    Just taking a look at both of my spam boxes, Hotmail has one email. It's about penis enlargement. Gmail has 134, of which only 16 might actually be spam (I just picked out the addresses I didn't know, I didn't look at the content so that might be lower). That's 118 false positives in a month, including two important emails from my college. Poor form by any measure. I guess that does infer that Hotmail's spam filtering might be better, though it's hardly the most comprehensive test.

     

    Google Mail is massively customisable, and is fantastic for it, but to tell people they desperately need to switch to it to get away from the 'terrible' Hotmail is silly talk.

    This game runs so smoothly on this PC (I was a bit jerky on the last one I played it on...back in 2007). I seemed to be better as Soldier and Pyro.

     

    I only wish that the crouch was toggle - it's very annoying having to hold down the left stick to move while crouched.

     

    Go in to console and type

     

    bind <key> toggle_duck

     

    I'm not sure how keys on a gamepad are identified though, so I can't tell you what <key> will be.

    Well you should change emails then because Hotmail is terrible in comparison. And if you don't want everyone to have to add your new email if you talk to people with it, then just forward it to your gmail account.

     

    As a question, how exactly is Hotmail "terrible in comparison"? I've never noticed this, despite having accounts with both services.
