makes me wonder why i bought a Wii and not just a remote, nunchuck, and bluetooth dongle... ...then i remember that the Remote, Nunchuck and a Bluetooth dongle would set me back 1/3rd of what the Wii cost in the first place and the happiness balance is restored

Thats to sort of thing im concerned about. This sort of thing tends to frustrate me to the point of breaking things, i think i'll give it a miss for an 'inferior' FPS that actually works Or i could buy Red Steel and ask for the bundled Anger Management Lessons...

The only disadvantage is that it doesnt have a built in TV tuner so you'll need to connect one up using Composite or S-Video. Freeview, Sky and NTL boxes will do the job there. Theres component for 480p on the Wii, a VGA port for your PC and a HDCP compatible DVI port for Vista/HD-DVD/Blu-Ray/SkyHD/Other HD Sources Forgot to mention, it also has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050. For £350 thats a bargain, most LCD TVs use 720p (1080 x 720).

How many people who own this would recommend this then? Do you think its the best of the 3 Wii FPS? Or is CoD or FC better?

when is this due out? im actually really excited about this game, now the 'ive got a Wii!' hype is dying down ive been feeling a little disappointed by the choice of titles that are out (especially on Virtual Console)

argh! not another one! in my excitement about getting a Wii today i traded my GC controllers and memory cards in with the 'cube. Severely regretting it now spoiler tags i didnt really want to know that until i finished it

The way things were going a 360 was going to cost me £360 because i wanted 2 games and an extra wireless pad. All i can say is Wii Sports is great Not had much chance to play Zelda yet tho. im not having a lot of luck here lol. Went into gamestation today with loads of stuff to trade in, they price it all up for me (took about half hour) then went to sort out the Xbox. Turns out their £325 for Premium + Extra Controller + PGR3 + Smackdown + Any 2 Games + Live Arcade deal expired on Friday and they now want £320 for Premium + 2 games. I didnt buy it, not away to loose out on 3 games and a controller just because i turned up 5 days too late Im going back when the managers in, fingers crossed he will budge a bit and give me an extra controller for that price

That is Venom, Spidey looks like this in the film: In the comics the Symbiote was bonded to the user and could change shape at the users will. It was always attatched to the user but 90% of the time took the shape of civilian clothing in order to remain hidden. The upshot of this for Spidey was that he could change into Spiderman at a seconds notice, black gunk just kind of engulfed his body. Same with Venom. The problem with the films is these are quite obviously costumes. Not too big a problem for Spidey, but it removes the OMG! MONSTER! sort of reaction to Venom. They've made him just another freak in tights!

You could always just connect the VCR to the TV via composite using a Scart to 3 RCA (Composite) cable, assuming your TV has composite ports (which most do, the yellow/white/red) Will update this guide on Wednesday, don't really feel like doing it on days i've been working. I think the biggest problem with venom is going to be how scary they dare make him. I figured they would tone him down a bit to keep the certificate from being 15. After seeing these models im a little worried, he isnt toned anywhere near the extent Venom should be. This is Venom: The Symbiote is a skin, not a piece of clothing. Spiderman 3's Venom looks like he's wearing a suit rather than that being his actual skin

I've been turned off of Spiderman 3 of late. The Venom pics are very disappointing, he's meant to look super-human strong rather than sub-arnie

Oops, missed the £750 budget bit I'd go for one of the 32" Toshiba models then. The difficult part will be choosing between the 32WLT66 and its updated version, the 32WLT68. If you can get it within your budget then the 68 is a much better buy. The sound was developed by Onkyo and is far better than the standard Toshiba performance. It also has a D-Sub port for the optional Sub-Woofer. The connection options on the 68 are also better, 3HDMI ports (over the 66's 2) and an Optical Out socket (audio)

Why did you write Philips off so quickly? They make some excellent sets! I'd rate them the best European electronics manufacturer (not that theres a lot of competition these days) Best sets around are apparently the Panasonic TX-32LXD600, Philips 32PF9731D, Sony KDL-32V2000 and Toshiba 32WLT68 Quick break-down of each one: The Philips is the best set in terms of picture quality and features. Ambilight reduces eye-strain and makes the picture look sharper. It has a great menu and is easy to set up. Biggest downside; its a pricey beast. Panasonic: Great picture quality, handles blacks the best of all the sets. More reasonably priced than the Philips. Its great but falls behind the Philips in picture sharpness and features (Ambilight and the other filtering modes in the Philps make that extra bit of difference) Sony: This was the best 32-inch set around 12 months ago but of late its been beaten by the 2 sets above. Buy if you can find it a fair bit cheaper than the Philips and Panny Toshiba: Not so good as the Panny and Philips, but a lot cheaper. The sound for its was created in conjunction with Onkyo and is therefore very good (and theres an optional sub-woofer available). Picture quality is top of its price bracket. Theres 3(!) HDMI ports! Personally i'd demo the Philips, Panny and Tosh in a demo room at your local AV specialist (they'll be happy to assist). Ignore there prices though, most AV shops are at least 20% above internet prices. Don't form your opinion off the back of how the sets look in Currys, all you'll be seeing is which TV copes best with being set up badly rather than which one produces the best picture. It all depends on what sits well for you, the 3 are fairly close on Price vs Performance so its all down to how much your willing to spend wow, rambled on a bit there
