Same here, live with one other/mostly alone and I really cannot be bothered. I go home for Christmas anyway. Before my mum had to work, we used to put it up mid-December, or a little earlier. But now it's very last minute as both my parents are busy.

I don't know what my English first name means, but Russian and Indian demonstrators at college often argue about whether it's a Russian or Indian name. My Chinese name is kind of made-up (as in, not an existing name my parents pulled out of a baby names book). It means something like, I'm able to "encounter things that I want to meet". My Chinese surname apparently indicates that I'm a descendant of a Chinese king. Nothing else of interest. And no, I'm not posting either as I'm averse to putting out any personal details online

Noise at 3am next door last night, so I had to use my fancy noise-cancelling earphones and listen to music I didn't want to listen to until I fell asleep. Resulting in waking up late, and having hung up on all of my dad's calls because the alarm tone on my phone is the same as the ringtone (that's just idiocy on my part though). I never want to live near students again. EVER.

I just wrote a big post that disappeared somehow Immersion is key. Watch movies/shows, read books, newspapers, blogs, sites, listen to music and podcasts, find a native speaker. Learn and try to experience the cultures too. Having a really big interest in a language is the best, it really accelerates learning. It's kind of stupid how I learned Irish for...13 years and promptly forgot it as soon as I left school (loooool hated it), but learned how to read Korean in like, a day. Try sites like eduFire, I've heard good things about it. Smart.fm (now iKnow) used to be really good, but it charges now. Find sites with good notes and audio clips, make a list and learning plan/timetable, be motivated

Saw My Week With Marilyn last night with @Frank. I wasn't sure about seeing it at first as I have no interest in Marilyn Monroe, haven't even watched any of her movies :s But I watched the trailer, and realised that the actress playing her was Ruby in Prozac Nation - there was something I loved about her even though she was a minor character. So I thought that if worse comes to worst, I can just concentrate on her :p It was good though, Michelle Williams' acting is superb, Eddie Redmayne too - they showed a lot of difficult emotions in close-ups. It was fun to see, but felt more like a Weekend than a Week (though we did miss the first 20 minutes or so). Also, Emma Watson's part is kind of useless. It had a good mix of depicting the positives and negatives of being Marilyn Monroe - being appreciative of morbidness, I of course enjoyed the pills and crying more... @Frank mentioned that some of the quotes and actions were stuck in a bit too obviously, but since I don't know anything about Monroe, I didn't pick up on it at all. Overall: worth seeing, but not worth tripping over yourself to see. Michelle Williams and Dame Judi Dench were my favourites in it.

I didn't say anything about ReZ because after my vote post (in which I was like "vote for ReZ plz"), everyone followed through and he got lynched quickly anyway. So I didn't see any need for me to reveal my role so early. I would've said something if people had hesitated about voting.
