  1. bad stuff thread.

Yea, we had a colleague (in another dept in our building) take her life a few years ago too. Knew she had issues with stress etc, but never thought she was the kind of character to do that. Its nearly always the ones you least expect. I've done it myself, its incredible the kind of facade you can put up when you have to. Luckily I've never been that deep in depression to even think of making an attempt on my life, but its amazing what you can cover up when it comes to it. Slightly unrelated note - ive been having some kind of paranoid episodes lately, and i've not really been sleeping either. Woke up for the FIRST time in my life with black bags under my eyes. Bad look..... May have to invest in some make up
  2. bad stuff thread.

Police came to work today, with a car to pick up one of my colleagues. Her hubs-to-be committed suicide today.
  3. Weight Loss & Fitness 2017

Even if you love exercising you'll get days where you're not feeling it, those are the days that are MOST IMPORTANT to keep pushing through. Your regime sounds a bit odd, stronglifts is always a good place to start if you aren't sure what to choose, it get results.
  4. I NEED CLOSURE ON THIS WOULD YOU ASK HER OUT ALREADY!!!!!!!!
  5. Conflict With Neighbours?

She really does need to come back!!! There's still a chance! They never found her body!
  6. House buying is the worst

100% not wrong. I would have done the EXACT same thing. For all the vendor knew that could have been a deal breaker for them, so them getting it done got them the sale.. So it was in their benefit too. Some mortgage lenders are iffy when it comes to issues brought up in surveys, and they might not have been as willing to give you the money. Varies from bank to bank. My sisters was fully intact. And you're right about it being less risk in garage (as you don't LIVE in there and breathe the air in a lot) but i would still be VERY particular about checking it on a very regular basis and action damage quickly.
  7. Savings/Investments

My bank are being tits, they said they wont close my save to buy savings account (i bought 6 months ago) and i just recd £85 interest (obviously from when i had money in it) and i keep messaging them but they refuse. They keep telling me they sent a passbook (they did not) and theyd have to file it as missing before they could close it. I'm just like.....what really. I've got a mortgage, i'm NO LONGER A FIRST TIME BUYER CLOSE MY FIRST TIME BUYERS SAVINGS ACCOUNTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT /explodes
  8. Jury Service

Employers really should be made to pay their workers whatever their standard rate is. A few people in my depts over the past 11 years have been called up & they've received full pay from the NHS. I have yet to be called!
  9. House buying is the worst

omg so excited for you!! I hope you made sure it was written in the contract when you signed lol My sister has (intact) asbestos on her garage roof which she'll have to get replaced eventually.
  10. Savings/Investments

I still have a Save to buy ISA, my bank won't close it?! (i bought a house like 6 months ago lol) I dunno i'm not really very good at saving... well. I have money, but not huge sums. Could probably cope if I was out of work for a month or two, maybe. I have a pension and a house, so I have thought about the future. Somewhat banking on the fact my perm job stays that way lol
  11. Conflict With Neighbours?

I had similarish problems in my old place. We had a square bay area. you could fit 3 cars on the west side, 3 again on the north side and one in the corner between, quite easily, if everyone parked with care. Even if they parked perfectly there was 7 spaces and 14 flats. In an area where parking was already a nightmare (lived right beside Jobcentre dept and several other large buildings with a paid parking area, so they abused our place like the little fuckers they are). So given all that I can really see where the owner/maintenance guy is coming from. It's SO frustrating when people cant use things properly. If you are the only one that has a key to this garage you *should* be using it. It was so upsetting and a real bugbear when people abandoned their cars in my old place. My mum used to visit and once she had to park a mile down the road.
  12. Do you use voice command?

i never use it, it doesnt understand my accent
  13. House buying is the worst

If I had the same dubious solicitor my vendor had the issues i had would likely have never been uncovered. 2 sets of eyes n all that. (they assumed and did not check that my house was on land registry which held it up to 6 months)
  14. House buying is the worst

Yeah i cleaned out all my stuff when i was moving and packed some stuff i wouldn't immediately need. Still had so much CRAP. Never moving again lol
  15. Mainstream Piracy

Jeeeez I live in rural ireland and I manage to get 20...
  16. Naaa too much negativity aint so good, especially when they're down on things you love. Thats a real facemelt, I had an ex that did that and i stuck it for 3 months... (it felt bloody longer)
  17. House buying is the worst

It really depends, I would say not significantly so. You can have delays with money, the vendor themselves, surveys, and all kinds of legal things. My house was not registered in Land Registry (even tho it should have been in the last transaction) and it would have made no difference if I had the same solicitor as them or not. Infact I think my solicitor made it faster as he was constantly on the ball with them.
  18. My former colleagues husband was allergic to garlic, apparently it was a nightmare to cook for him, and its in SO MUCH. I feel for you, I really cannot abide fussy eaters. Eat all the things or gowai
  19. Mainstream Piracy

Couldn't agree more. Steam is great and you own a copy (that you'll never lose!! Yay). I don't like Netflix on the premise that some stuff gets taken off, or is regionally locked. I want a physical copy of it forever lol I don't feel any guilt for doing the warez dance because I only download now n again. Like maybe one or two episodes a week. Maybe a film now n again. My ex on the other hand has his computer on 24/7 downloading stuff that he'll never even find the time to watch. That's just silly. Also I love Blindspot and we're half a season behind here. So I warez the shit out of that. But would probably just watch it on my paid sky subs if it was current!
  20. Washer-dryer: Yay or Nay?

getting a cheap line and a dehumidifier would do a better job and cost you a lot less (outlaying costs and electric)
  21. Mainstream Piracy

Piracy wouldn't be such a problem if the products weren't so expensive. Ie - if I could download an episode of a TV programme for a £1 or £2, or a film for £3-5, I wouldn't be a pirate. But to pay £20 quid for 2 people to watch the film once with a bunch of antisocial twats who are either kissing in the back, shouting, eating or general idiotic behaviour. NO.
  22. food avoiders are the worst My ex hated onions, but ate budget canned chilli..........
  23. Mainstream Piracy

Colleagues: yea its free oh go n get it why you paying for sky etc me: Don't you realise its illegal? colleague: its not me: you haven't paid for that film that's not even on dvd yet, you bet your feckin ass its illegal, you not heard of copyright laws? colleague: oh she professes to be clever in computer related things but she's as thick as sh*t Not that I'm innocent in this but at least i'm not deluded to the fact.
