  3. Two mobile questions

Sorry if they're stupid questions but i don't know about this stuff... 1) Do you have to buy a certain type of earphones to use with a mobile, or would my earphones that i use for my MP3 player and laptop be compatible with it? 2) If a smartphone can't locate your current location on google maps, is that a prob with the phone, or a prob with google maps? Mine just says it can't find my current location, no explanation or anything. Just no idea if i can do anything about it?
  4. Two mobile questions

    Oh christ.
  5. Two mobile questions

Ugh, probably... It's not a good brand though, it's a blatantly shit obscure brand, "H80" or some crap it's called...
  6. Two mobile questions

Thanks guys, turns out i was just being a dumbshit and didn't have the GPS setting on. It's been charging for 5 days though and the battery is only on like 5%... what the fuck?? I've hardly even used it so not like it's an old battery!
  7. Two mobile questions

It's a god awful dirt cheap smartphone i got from China on ebay. I only got it FOR help with directions cos i'm always getting lost. I know it was dirt cheap but i still expected it to perform basic functions you know? I'll check all the settings once it's charged (which takes forever). And it just says it in any location, it can never locate me anywhere.
  8. General Book Thread

And that is the only thing on this earth that could justify that cover.
  9. General Book Thread

I'll buy it if they publish it with a different cover. That cat... i can't even.
  10. How do you look so fabulous thread

I know it sounds like something Joan Collins would do in Dynasty, but yep it does still happen!
  11. How do you look so fabulous thread

I wash my hair a lot and powder my nose a lot cos i have oily skin. I prefer to dress smart/semi-smart rather than casual. French manicure on my nails cos it just makes nails look nice and clean and healthy.
  12. Banksy: Art or Vandalism?

Banksy has already popularised it though hasn't he? If anything it'll show people that graffiti can be more artistic than "Craig was ere 12/04/14" and a cartoon cock next to it!
  13. Banksy: Art or Vandalism?

People do this already though (put up shitty looking graffiti). So unless the argument was about legalising graffiti, then that's already the reality. You get good graffiti mixed with eyesore stuff. The Council also have the right to remove it, since it's illegal. So the crude stuff wouldn't stay up for long. Most adverts are vulgar anyway, so what about that? The only person who really has a valid case to complain about graffiti, is the owner of the particular building that the graffiti has been done on.
  14. Banksy: Art or Vandalism?

Banksy's thoughts (from his book Wall and Piece): Despite what they say, graffiti is not the lowest form of art. Although you might have to creep about at night and lie to your mum it's actually one of the more honest art forms available. There is no elitism or hype, it exhibits on the best walls a town has to offer and nobody is put off by the price of admission. A wall has always been the best place to publish your work. The people who run our cities don't understand graffiti because they think nothing has the right to exist unless it makes a profit, which makes their opinion worthless. They say graffiti frightens people and is symbolic of the decline in society, but graffiti is only dangerous in the mind of three types of people; politicians, advertising executives and graffiti writers. The people who truly deface our neighbourhoods are the companies that scrawl giant slogans across buildings and buses trying to make us feel inadequate unless we buy their stuff. They expect to be able to shout their message in your face from every available surface but you're never allowed to answer back. Well, they started the fight and the wall is the weapon of choice to hit them back. Some people become cops because they want to make the world a better place. Some people become vandals because they want to make the world a better looking place. When I was eighteen I spent one night trying to paint `LATE AGAIN' in big silver bubble letters on the side of a passenger train. British transport police showed up and I got ripped to shreds running away through a thorny bush. The rest of my mates made it to the car and disappeared so I spent over an hour hidden under a dumper truck with engine oil leaking all over me. As I lay there listening to the cops on the tracks I realised I had to cut my painting time in half or give up altogether. I was staring straight up at the stencilled plate on the bottom of a fuel tank when I realised I could just copy that style and make each letter three feet high. I got home at last and crawled into bed next to my girlfriend. I told her I'd had an epiphany that night and she told me to stop taking that drug `cos it's bad for your heart.
  15. April Fools

You can now buy ice cream in tubs made of ice, thanks to one Aberdeenshire firm. Mackie's, who make both ice cubes and ice cream, have combined the two ranges to create environmentally friendly packaging. Kirstin Mackie, development director, said: ''This is such a good idea - we cannot think why this has not occurred to us or other people in the frozen food industry before, imagine the waste in plastic and cardboard packaging that could be removed from our freezer aisles. ''For example, frozen peas could be bought in a block and placed immediately into boiling water.''
