  1. ..don't like to sound pessimistic.. but that doesn't sound good at all :hmm: ..hopefully it will sort itself out as the having to shell out £30 for a new remote seems very harsh..

    ..good luck!

i was thinking about getting a second remote but now it looks like it'd just have to be a replacement :( cant afford that

i just hope that im missing something very simple

  2. Hi, Ive posted in the wii problems and issues thread but no-one has responded.

Badically, my wii has power and is able to turn on to the menu screen but my controller is dead. You cant point it and the lights at the bottom of the controller dont turn on. I put in new batteries and tried syncing them but still nothing.

    Please help, cheers.

    an idea for next easter

I remember seeing that site which was advertised on a TV programme and it showed a man making the biggest Jaffa Cake, except it was named something more appropriate. I think it was Jaffa Quake. Well it's on the site somewhere anyway.

  4. I found the tutorials to be fine (although I thought my girlfriend was going to break the controller in half about about the 10th time she tried the power up one)

Up until the airspin one anyway, couldn't get any kind of spinnage at all and the instructions are pretty vague. Might try again when I get in this afternoon.

    the trick is for airspinning:

Hold down 1 and left/right on the d-pad whilst in the air (leaning back for more air of course)

If you are holding down left to spin left, move the controller to the right a bit and then move it a bit faster to the left to do a quick spin, it emulates the sort of momentum for when you jump into the air. If you move one way slightly and then twist the other way you get more power and you can spin more easily

    For multiple spins:

dont let go of the left/right on the dpad but just as you complete the spin, repeat the momentum by moving the wii-mote to one side and then the opposite side

  5. That was fun to watch, everyone played so well, and i like fletcher now.

Carrick was sensational, i can see him scoring more goals in the future. Giggs was at his best. Ronaldo was skilling everyone. Rio and Wes solid at the back. Heinze, Evra and Oshea all did brilliant. Smiths goal was ace. In fact Rooney was probably the "worst" player on the pitch (other than Richardson, cant stand him) even though he played really well and scored. I hope we continue like this.

  6. Actually Neville CAN cross the ball and as a defender doesnt need to work on his shooting and he does have some skill. He overlaps very well. Holds up attackers well when defending by pushing them out wide and he can tackle. In my opinion he is the complete right back.

well i can see he can do a couple of those things such as the overlap but that isnt skill and much of the time he tries things and it doesnt work. and he CANT cross. they always end up as a goal kick or arent high enough. 1/10 crosses that he does actually come off

  7. I thought Gary was out for another week at least?

maybe the radio times is wrong then?

ah well, what do people think of Gary Neville here then?

I think its quite funny to think that Gary doesnt really have any expertise other than that he has consistent performances. I guess he's usually good at tackling but

    • He cant cross
      • He gets out of position

    • He cant shoot

    • He doesnt have skills

however, he's the best England right-back at the moment. I dont know what it is he does, but you dont really miss him until he's gone. Surely there's someone who can play right back for England thats better than Gary, but apparently not. Is it something to do with experience? He has played for MU for ages

(These are just my views and you may strongly disagree.)

  8. Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to buy this game sometime this week. I can't wait to try out the Wiimote steering controls.

dont be put off if you suck at the tutorials, you get used to it after a while.

  9. Here is the team that I would play. Given that we are missing a number of key players.

    Van Der Sar

Gary Neville (in the radio times it says that he's playing), Brown, Ferdinand,Evra (i prefer him to Heinze)

    Ronaldo, Carrick, Oshea, Giggs

Rooney and Smith upfront. Smith had a good game against Portsmouth when he came on, so start him. Then switch him for Solksjaer or Saha in the second half.

    edited to what i think
