  1. I was thinking recently, you know that in Corruption you travel around different planets (same as hunters) that have been corrupted, well wouldn't it be cool if some of the planets you had to explore were aether and tallon4? that would be so amazing, they could make it so the 2 planets have evolved slightly with maybe higher technology, but with similar sorts of environments and places youve been to before but modified. Id love to re-explore tallon again with different enemies etc. I think both of these planets should be corrupted again and you have to help out the luminoth/chozo and they give you the latest equipment etc.

Retro could do a lot with this, and it would be a really cool feature. I hope this may happen.

  2. *puts wii-play on*

    *starts playing table tennis*

    sorry what?

I was thinking, games like Wii Play and Wii sports may have put a lot of pressure on publishers to make a good sports game based on just one thing. They've set a high standard with most of them and Rockstar (and other developers) will have to make something special to gratify a purchase of a non-compilation of sport games. It doesn't help that table tennis is quite a simple concept for a game, so even if it is better than the Wii Play version it may still get bad reviews because it isnt enough of an improvement.

  3. Whether the puzzle is hard or not, and regardless of how beautiful it is or isn't, as soon as the puzzle clicks and all the pieces begin to come together, you get a small high. Once you get this high, you keep coming back for more, but you can't get it from the same game over and over, you already know the puzzles by the second run. This is why we come back and continue to buy the sequels.

It's like when you buy Coca Cola or sweets, you like the taste, so you buy more, even when you know it's bad for you. It's like a drug.

Good point, but that doesnt really explain it because the puzzles arent really getting harder or even much different. Why do you get a high (i know i do but...) even if the puzzle is actually quite simple. As ive said, puzzles in games could be brought to a whole new level, the puzzle genre/part of game at the moment could be further defined and improved with more realistic puzzles that dont give you the solutions on a plate.

  4. You have a certain point, but you still have to admire clever level and puzzle design. For example, I'd say the Zelda puzzles are a bit easier to solve than Metroid puzzles, but you still have to admire their beauty of design. When you are in a big ass room and you start to see the logic behind its mechanics and how you affect them (even if it's almost always the same pattern, Zelda puzzles revolve around tried and tested techniques of pushing switches, lighting torches, shooting eyes with arrows, etc), you can't help but marvel at the puzzle placement. At least in my case. :)

I know, youve explained what ive said in my previous post, the level design is very good, and i guess thats what makes a puzzle. Puzzles should be made less obvious and so the environments dont give away obvious clues. Instead of lighting a torch and hoping it does something have something a lot more complicating and makes you think for a good few minutes. Dont make a puzzle revolve around an obvious central object, use various things that you may just give a once over, and implement them into a tricky puzzle.

  5. I know, but is it really a puzzle or just a give-away when you can do the puzzles when you're 12 but you'd still call them puzzles if you were 50. The puzzles make you think a little bit, but they are very easily solved no matter the age. We know when we play Corruption that we'll be able to complete all of the puzzles.

  6. I just thought, and this doesnt just apply with metroid, that even when you can complete a game when you're 12, you'd still want to play the 'sequel' to the game when you're 21, even when it becomes a lot easier. Or does i become easier when your older? Or do you get the same experience no matter what age. We all know that we will be able to complete Corruption fairly easily, but what is it that makes us want to play the same sorts of games? Is it how fun it is or how cool the levels look?

Its a weird thought that is difficult to come to terms with. I hope someone understands me...

  7. Metroid Prime 2 was good game, but there was too much backtracking. Keys were fairly easy to find, but I didn't like how the next place was on the opposite side of map.

I'm with mcj I found the keys, especially the 9 sky temple keys, really difficult to locate. I found 6 of them flukily and I had to get an faq fo the other 3 because none of the clues meant anything to me. It was much better in Prime when they just gave our the rooms.

Ammo was unneccessary in Echoes. It was only there because they needed an ammo system in the multiplayer, which sucked badly may I add, and they just thought 'lets keep it in teh single play3r!'

  8. Urk.

Every time I see this topic near the top, I think to myself 'At last, some more news about the game!'

Thats what i always think, even though there probably wont be any news, im still hopeful.

Ive probably dashed someones hopes by posting this.

  9. Arsenal have Toure

If and when Alex Ferguson leaves United, I think Coppel will take over.

We're going to get Owen Hargreaves this summer I think. Photos of Fergie and Owen shaking hands await.

Im not sure if he's worth the money though, we'll have to see.

  10. I was going to get the GC version of this again, but the prices are on Ebay and in stores is like £20!! I rather wait for the Wii Smash Bros and it'll probably feel more fresh.

I'm getting more hyped for this.

Smash Bros Melee is such a huge/epic/engulfing/gripping/compellingly expansive game. You must buy, unless you dont want to spend half of your life playing it.

  11. None of us want you banned, Its just that this being a 'geeky' forum most people here are quite intellectual and dislike slouchy typing.

Never say soccer!!! Unless you're name is David and you've gone to play football to a lower standard than you're capable of.

  12. The fact that in the second half we hit the cross bar, and had several oppotunities where we should have scored, yet our players are too stupid to shoot.

Nah, it could have gone either way. Chelsea came close quite a lot too with kalou's shot saved and joe cole being marginally offside.

    Fair result overall.

omg i used caps lock to highlight the word champions, because i was happy and ur threatening to try & get me banned... hahahahahahahahahaah get a life buddie, get a life... lol at u acting like i type like some hard to understand spastic, when its clear thats not the case... the guy with the hoover is only backing u up cos hes all bitter with me over the other night lol...

tbh i think u shud just find something more constructive to do with ur life, rather then examining my speech and moaning because ive shorterned words such as - you & are... most of the forum do it, cos this is called the internet...

go ahead and try to get me banned for shorterning like 2 words rofl...

    1. Thats f*cked up.

    2. I don't think he's trying to get you banned...

    3. I personally find it annoying as well.

    4. You're practically the only person who does txt language to your extent.

    5. Stop telling him to get a life, when clearly being on a nintendo forum isnt the ideal life situation.

  13. I just started playing Prime again. I got to the mines area, quite far through it, but I only had 36 energy points and I couldn't find a save point. I walked into a room and poison gas started coming out the walls. Complete and utter bastards.

    Lol
