  1. Revolution and shelf space... an important issue...?

All shops have one sole aim. To make money. Business objectives, shareholders and overheads all dictate what and where things are sold. I'm not convinced that Sony could pay to have a prime spot - does anyone have any legal knowledge here. I'd think there could be some legislation against this. However, Nintendo needs to reaslise that Revolution is up against some heavy competition. Say what we like about Sony and Microsoft, but the fact remains that both manufacturers have been far more successful that Nintendo this generation. NIntendo needs killer apps, strong support, an outstanding marketing strategy (not necessarily TV adverts for those who seem to think Marketing is solely TV adverts) and good word of mouth.
  2. Hilarious images!

Is anyone else slightly freaked out by The Reginator?
  3. Nintendo Revolution- A grab bag of speculation. (Long)

Some good ideas. But I think its safe to say that we'll not see "homebrew" titles on Revolution. Its not something that NIntendo have ever supported and has no quantifiable value to them.
  4. Change your Mind?

Not really. I'm still going to get an Xbox 360 for one or two titles which tickle my fancy - Too Human being one of them. Thats probably a few years off tho - possibly on XBOX 720.
  5. Two Controllers

Looking at some of the problems the new Baton Controller presents for some games and Nintendo's desire to make a tradition controller, I'm startiung to think that Nintendo should create standard controllers, along with the control peripheral for the Baton. For example, a standard wireless controller based on the GC design could be bundled in the pack - along with the baton. This would send out a clear message that both are important as eachother. To simplify things further, Nintendo could develop a method for Revolution to identify which controller is needed to play a particular game - perhaps the blue channel light at the bottom could flash? EA have already stated that Revolution is not a priority for next generation - and with the masses of people who will consider these titles important to their purchase, Nintendo could loose a great deal of market share based solely on EA. Understandably, Nintendo are looking at the Shell Controller, but since it is essentially a peripheral, it might send out the wrong message.
  6. The Public Vote!

Another BBC poll here. This time, is the Revolution Controller a Hit or a Miss. Currently, even stevens at Hit 49.16% Miss 50.84% http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4251720.stm
  7. Who wants ports anyway?

I'm not sure ports are the best way to describe multiformat games. GC Bond: From Russia With Love isn't a port of the PS2/XBox version. Its being developed alongside them. EXG3 was a port, since it was developed from the existing PS2 code. Thats the difference, i believe. Multiformat games are essential. Not having them would be a disaster for Nintendo, since EA's sports titles (sadly) are a reason many buy into gaming, along with other multiformat titles. Nintendo will no doubt do their best to encourage developers to use the motion tracking function on these titles, but many may choose not to.
  8. Tobbacco takes it in the pooper....

I have never smoked - and it ruins my life! Unfortunately, although no medical diagnosis has been made I can barely breath in a smokey room. Start wheezing, eyes water, feel nausious and basically get pissed off. By the next morning I have dirty black bogies which block my sinuses completely. I think people do have a right to smoke, if they so wish. But I (and others) have a right to clean air too. Smokers should also be forced to pay a heafty levy for NHS treatment of smoking related ilnesses.
  9. People Haven't Grasped the Magnitude of Revolution

I don't think I'm alone in saying when I first saw it i was mortified. But once you start thinking about the possibilities, it certainly becomes a revolution. The idea might not sell to some people straigh away but I would say actually playing would swing the opinions in an instant.
  10. Battalion Wars

This is an essential purchase for me. I love the Advance Wars titles on GBA and DS - and a real time spin off should be a hoot. IGN have raised a couple of issues which have bought the game mark down. With a little more thought, this could have been marked 9+. As it stands, i think IGN's score is a more than respectable 8.8.
  11. Force Feedback

Nintendo are the battery masters, however! I'm sure that Nintendo could squeeze 10 hour charge out of gyro equiped controllers.
  12. Gyro Feedback

I don't think anything was said but did Nintendo confirm if the mooted gyro feedback (directional feedback) would be included?
  13. Your revolution game wishlist and why....?

    I just don't know
  14. Wired Controllers

Given the abundance of wireless nowadays, why, oh why is the Revolution controller not completely wireless (do the dongles need to be attached with wires?!) I feel it makes the controller look cheap - surely since a wireless signal would only need to be less than two meters far less batery power would be needed.
  15. strange Rev Controller images

I think heretic means "look at the button names..." A, B and X,Y...
  16. Its my understanding that there is none. Certainly IGN and Gamespot don't seem to be having one, and there'd be the most likely to have it. ***edit*** And the below posts make me very wrong
