Well, here I've seen lot's of advertising to de Blob, some to Wario Land, and Super Mario Galaxy had to. And now there is a lot advertising to Wii Fit, Mario Kart and SSBB passing on the TV, not to mention DS commercials.
-
Is that as easy as it looks? Does it work on macs?Is the game getting boring yet? You played multiplayer?
Yes, it's easy. The only thing more complicated is the software settings (it comes with Ulead), but it's a matter of trying.
It really isn't getting boring. I have around 40 hours gameplay and only wish to have more time. Didn't try multiplayer yet
Does it record a PAL 60 signal, Dazkarieh? I was thinking about getting a Dazzle but I've heard it can only record 50hz (or 60hz in black and white)From the reviews I read, the Dazzle Platinum it's better (and more expensive), but I didn't check those settings. This one record PAL 60 for sure.
Do you mean that you plug in the composite cables into the device instead of the TV?Yes. Of course you can get a T cable to have it on both screens, or use TV Out (most TV's have it). Mine has, but I didn't have the cable and as it's just to record videos and not play, it isn't a problem.
-
Do you plug it into your TV, then? No. O plug the card in the PC, unplug the composite cable from the tv, plug it to the USB card, and capture it.
With this image is easy to check how it works
-
Do you hook it up to your PC then?I don't think you can, but would love it if you could so go check it out quick
Yes, I purchased the Compro Videomate C200 USB card. It's cheap and not certainly not the best that exists, but works fine for the purpose.
I'll try to check that

1. How do you upload videos?2. Can you use the balance board to play the drums in Jam mode? And thus, mulitplayer?
1 - O have a capture card.
2 - Didn't try, but I think so.

While the major whining continues, I'm having loads of fun with this game
My balance board arrived on Friday and I've been trying the drum mode. Once again, I have to congratulate Nintendo for their lessons! I'm a drummer and it was lovely to go through all the lessons I had in the past. I can guarantee that whomever finish all lessons in the right way can go to a real drum and play around.
In the end, I made another theme. The final result isn't one of my favourites, but I surely had fun doing it. I only make real efforts on the drum. Here it is:

I agree with LazyBoy. Nintendo should make a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Metroid... then a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Zelda... then a Mario... then a Zelda... then a Mario...
Stupid Nintendo for not sticking with this!

Cheerleader, Beatboxer, Black belt?Guitar, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Drums, Bass...
Much better... hahahaha

It's getting so so hard to defend this I don't know how ye do itJust play it and you'll see...
-
Oh sure, so let me see it like this:I shit on your plate and then say for you to prove it, you take one bite and hate it, saying it tastes awfully.
You still can't talk about it, because its possible that at the end of that shit, there's actually chocolate.
Still interested in the X360?

That's the point Molyneux is making. Fable is far away from being a casual franchise, but Fable 2 is a step in the right direction to making that type of game accesible. He's saying "why are we making new games for a new audience when there's nothing wrong with the old ones?".The difference is that Nintendo does it beautifully (Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy), and Molyneux don't. Fable 2 it's a shame for anyone who has played and enjoyed the first one...

I'll give you the answer as soon as I get the balance board, but, now that I think about it... they did it in E3 (although I think the drummer was on a different Wii - he was a fifth player).
-
I have no idea, I don't have the game, but you do I'm guessing you mean for the drums? I'm pretty sure you can't.... doesn't it say in the instruction manual? I thought the balance board was just used for the drum simulatorThe manual!!!!! That's right... it exists
Inside the drum mode you have a regular Jam Session section (as also a Free Play), so yes... it can be used in recording mode.
BTW, without balance board you can not access to the Drum Mode, so I couldn't check in game.
-
Are you telling or askingAsking... and you are scaring the crap out of me! You're question made me realise I hadn't thought about it as I always assumed it would work
-
And why do you need a balance board? You can't use that in the recording mode can you? No???
-
Sure!! Ask them about why did they choose Les Claypool for the sound and where did they get inspiration on the timed sounds (Chibi Robo comes to mind).
And, of course, if they have any more projects for Nintendo platforms

Here it is my new version The Legend of Zelda theme.
I didn't put a lot of effort on this one. It take about half an hour to complete it, and the goal was to test the output settings of my capture card. Also, it's hard to do this kind of arrangements without a balance board (I'll get it soon).
Even though, it count with some special guests to perform with me

Is the game great? You've not really told us your thoughts, though I'm presuming you like itI love it
Well, here is a short review: it's the hardest game I've played on Wii so far. Mainly because the game isn't complete. You're not just playing a game... you're creating it.
The idea of being a "pick up and play" title isn't totally correct. Of course you can get it, wave around and have fun. But I believe it wasn't done for that. And the game itself, through the lessons and mini-games, conduct you to the main focus of the game: make videos.
The mini-games are awesome, specially the Pitch Perfect. That's exactly the kind of exercises I made in Theory of Music lessons. There is a lot of hidden musical education inside the game.
I would also like to mention the lessons: are AWESOME! I thought I would get lessons like "now you move te nunchuck this way and play the sound, bla bla"... but not. Instead they give you some basic notions of composition. They don't tell you what to do... teach you how to do your own way. Very cool indeed
Controls are perfect! Very well balanced! They catch all your movements, and this way, all your imperfections.
Finally, this game is not for everyone, that's for sure. But I truly believe it's a title that, in 20 years, everyone that liked it will still talk about.
Edit: The Vangelis title took about 3 and a half hours to be as it is (first one). The other took about 2. I love to make experiments, and check how I like it the most, as also to repeat until timing is nearly perfect, so... that's why it took so long.

I still don't know, does this have a free mode, something like you do your own music without following the preset song?
No. You have a kind of mode like that when you're testing instruments, but you can not record it.
Thanks for the comments Shino, if you get the game I'll send it to you so that you can set the gong your own way
darksnowman, not know what's Chariots of Fire should be a crime
-
Well, here it goes: my first two creations
For these videos I focused mainly on the arrangement and music itself. I completely forgot Mii's animations... I'll leave that to a second stage. Sometime some beats are off tempo, but... oh well, it's fine by now.
BTW, the video is awful and I'll upload it in the future with better quality, I just get the capture card today and I didn't get the software settings imediatelly to make the capture ok, but I simply wanted to share it now and will explore that part in the future.
Cheers

Why do i love Electroplankton, but hate Wii Music?Simple: Nintendo tried to hype Wii Music, and not Electroplankton. If they did the same with Electroplankton, it would have the same haters has Wii Music.
It looks like a game of this genre has to sell only a few thousands to be good. It has to be for a niche only. If that happens, is good. If Nintendo tries to get it mainstream, it's bad.

hey chill the beans.. you're beginning to sound desperate now...Sorry i'm slagging this game but If i haven't played it for being skeptical it you haven't played it for defending... and we all know at the end of the day most games are mediocre and this one is getting mixed reviews as it is...I always stay on the cautious side until proven otherwise..that is usually until I play it.
and I was just about to leave this discussion in peace (for a few pages haha)
so sweetheart please try to answer back to my post and tell me why it will fare well here and us and we can have a lovely discussion (because obviously i don't have nightmares about the sales of nintendo games)
Hmm... if you want to have a "lovely discussion", don't call me "sweetheart", ok son?
That said... you don't have to feel sorry for "slagging this game"... I'm not selling it. That's why I really don't care about "how it wil fare over here". If you care, it's because you don't have much to care about...
Moving on to the the lovely discussion... the way you criticize the game it's purely bashing, so I don't think you're interested in it. So, son, if you want that lovely discussion to happen, start behaving like wanting to have one, and then we'll go for it
