  1. Introductions!

You can find my twitter account here feel free to give me a follow! Wasn't aware your name was Darren?
  2. Metroid (NES)

I hope you enjoy it, it's not an easy game, it will chew you up and spit you back out again! Stick with it..
  3. Luigi's Mansion

My good friend @LukeLee and I went on the national tour of CeX to try and find this a couple of weeks ago. We saw that Sheffield had it, but apparently it wasn't...even though they had it listed on their website. The Leeds store which had it the day before had gone out of stock...we travelled to around 10 CeX stores that week just randomly looking for games that we wanted to get, and we just couldn't find it. Then surprise! @LukeLee went and found a copy! Was really pleased! Anyway i've been playing it recently and i'm kinda stuck. I just got the Water Element and I am kinda stuck as to where to go next. I've beaten the dog ghost and the fat ghost in the dining area...but I have no idea where to go next! The game has been out for 11 years, surely there must be someone who knows where to go next! :P Update: I figured it out, no worries!
  4. Metroid (NES)

The original Metroid is a bit of a pain for me, while I respect the origins of the series, NES games are HARD! I found some parts quite frustrating. For example, there are particular rooms where you have to shoot out blocks and climb them, and unless your timing is perfect, the blocks will respawn and you will take damage and fall back down the shaft. It was unnecessary and annoying. Another was the lack of a map, I guess I am too used to having one when I play my Metroid games. When backtracking through areas I do like to know where i'm going. There were lots of dead ends in the game and I feel a map would have helped drastically. While I respect the game and its challenge, it's not something I can enjoy. I think the save state feature will be a huge help when I complete the game again.
  5. New Super Mario Bros 2

I like the look of the game, I really do...however at the current price and for what the game is, I honestly do not see much point in buying this game. It feels like we've got too much of the same. I've had a bit of time with it and sadly it just doesn't appeal to me all that much. Perhaps in the future when I don't have many games to play (unlikely) then i'll pick it up.
  6. There will be lanyards? Really? Not sure about that.
  7. Heroes of Ruin 3DS ( S-E+N-Space )

We'll have to arrange a time to play! I never did get that far into the game but I do like the look of it and i'm eager to play more!
  8. Nintendo Land

Haha! Well i've already done that in Animal Crossing: Let's go to the city, but with the Varia Suit! On a related note, our website put together a preview on Metroid Blast with everything we know so far. We're still adding to it, but feel free to check it out! http://www.shinesparkers.net/metroid-blast-preview
  9. I attended this last year and gave coverage. It was really awesome to see so much retro goodness in one place, there was also some very worthy charity work going on. I am hoping that I am going to be able to attend this once again, I strongly recommend it to anyone who is unsure. How about a meet up?
  10. EU Nintendo Direct 13th September 3pm

I think they would have said "installed" rather than "included" but it's a nice idea nonetheless.
  11. Wii U Price Check

After what i've seen today I find it very unlikely we'll see the Premium model anywhere below £250, which is a shame but I kinda expected this would be the case. I just hope my order with Amazon holds out, if so then I got the best deal today. I should be happy, but now i'm filled with worry
  12. Introductions!

Haha good thanks, really starting to feel I belong here...almost a part of the furniture now, not sure which piece of furniture though....and yourself?
  13. Wii U Price Check

No way man, that's not going to happen. I'd say £250 premium from Tesco but that's the best you'll get. The trade price is about £225 from what I hear (could be wrong) so they'd have to eat profit from elsewhere to put it out at that price.
  14. Wii U Price Check

I managed to get an order in for £264 + £5.99 day one shipping before the price rose at Amazon, now it doesn't have a price at all! I fear that my order will be cancelled.
  15. Nintendo Land

Naturally I could be biast and say Metroid Blast is the best looking game, but in fairness I really like the look of Balloon Flight The whole package looks like a very fun experience, i'm so pleased Nintendo are going to bundle it with the system.
  16. Campaign for people to use the chat room again

I've been using the chatroom for the past few days, it got quite busy! Shall continue to visit, but in the future I think i'll connect through IRC, it's hard to keep up with the browser version.
  17. Wii U Approaches: Backlog Battle!

I recently bought Pikmin 2 New Play Control, I bought the first a couple of months ago for £4, dirt cheap in comparison to the £18 i've payed for Pikmin 2, but I hear the game is hard to find. With Wii U approaching, I need to give the series one last chance to see if it appeals to me, as i'd like to buy Pikmin 3 if I do. To be honest, i've actually been working on Gamecube games recently, they're getting much harder to find. Luigi's Mansion was picked up for me after a nation tour of CeX with my friend @LukeLee. Donkey Konga 2 was also added very recently. I would strongly recommend people pick up Metroid Prime Trilogy if you can find it, it's getting more expensive by the day and is a great compilation. Try and find it with cardboard sleeve and art book if you can. The game is selling upwards of £40 preowned now, but I managed to pick up a copy in my local (ish) GAME a few months ago for £17.99
  18. Wind Waker

Windwaker was a very charming game, its cel shaded graphics made the game look less serious than previous games in the series at first, but once I started playing it certainly had the same feel as the previous games. Link had character, the music was incredible, the environments were stunning and that triforce collection was a PAIN IN THE ASS But seriously, Windwaker will always have a special place in my heart.
  19. Tumblr

Tumblr never really appealed to me, but as part of my websites efforts to reach out to more users, we set one up.
  20. Twitter

Feel free to follow me on Twitter if you wish! I'm a bit of an addict if i'm being honest. My website also has a Twitter feed if you're interested in Metroid news.
  21. Introductions!

Thanks Animal! For some reason I recognise your username, have we talked on Twitter perhaps? Anyway, thanks for the welcome!
  22. EU Nintendo Direct 13th September 3pm

I'm going to guess that the system will be £279.99 in store, £299.99 as a bundle with Nintendo Land and Wiimote plus. Online, £249.99 or £279.99 with bundle. Games to retail at £42.99 Console to release 7th December
  23. Introductions!

Glad to hear it! Thanks for everything so far, looking forward to chatting here with you too Mr. D
  24. Introductions!

Oh hey My questions were answered. Nice to meet you!
  25. Introductions!

I do hunt, however I am still a beginner really, I only got Tri a few months ago and we've had some hilarious experiences. I hunt with three good friends and I don't think that'll change, we have our own little team and we level up together But thanks, I shall keep you in mind. Hey @Guy! nice to see you here! So many of you around isn't there? Further confirmation that this is the place I should be Dude, I was soaked! Your man tears were quite impressive! I did tear up a couple of times, lost it at Dragon Roost Island though and the Twilight Princess piece. I feel we have a special unbreakable bond now :') Thanks @Rummy I shall try my best! You'll have to pester me if I don't ok?
