1. Got my console on launch day and to put it simply, its been the best console experience I have ever had. Just using and navigating around is such a joy. Old underperforming games are given a new lease of life or just truly come alive under 60fps.
Very excited to see where things go and very pleased with the dual sense, the new headset and almost everything to do with the ps5.
Only gripes are the lack of vrr (for now), its size (its really obnoxious and stands out but acceptable if this design keeps it quiet) and that i don't have enough time to play.
Glad everyone is having a good time with it.

2/3/4 player-coop sealed the deal for me. Looks like a lot of fun.

This is local co-op. If you look at the psn listing, it states that online co-op expected late this year (even though 2020 is next to over) or early next year. Will buy when that's available.

3. Salutations to all of our demon slaying samurai and ninjas! We hope you’re enjoying your way through the latest DLC expansion for Nioh 2, Darkness in the Capital. While I’m sure you have your hands full with all of the challenging bosses and missions, not to mention the new difficulty level, we’ve been diligently working to bring you more Nioh content.
The thrilling conclusion to the Nioh 2 story and the third and final DLC expansion-The First Samurai, will be available on December 17, 2020*. Brace yourselves to take on some of the most challenging missions and formidable foes in the entire series, along with an added difficulty level that will give even the most seasoned veterans a run for their money. While you still have some time to prepare for this climactic expansion, I wanted to provide a bit of story context to give you a hint as to what awaits you in this next DLC installment.
A flash of light from Sohayamaru whisks the protagonist back to the past as a Visitor for the third and final time. They are brought back to the place their mother spoke of when they were very young, the land of the fabled youth that defeated an oni. Otakemaru’s past, the secret of Sohayamaru, and the truth behind the first samurai. All of these mysteries will be revealed, and the protagonist’s long journey will finally come to a climactic end.
As we approach the release of this third DLC expansion for Nioh 2, I am happy to announce that we will be releasing several titles to celebrate the series and give new fans a way to experience the entire Nioh story, from Nioh to Nioh 2, on PlayStation 5.
On February 5 2021, the following titles will be simultaneously released to celebrate the four year anniversary of the Nioh franchise:
- Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition (available on PlayStation 4)
- Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition (available on PlayStation 5)
- Nioh Remastered – The Complete Edition (available on PlayStation 5)
- The Nioh Collection (available on PlayStation 5)
All of the titles available on PlayStation 5 will support 4K resolution for crystal clear visuals, up to 120 FPS gameplay** for silky smooth combat, ultra-fast load times and the ability to transfer your data from the PS4 versions to pick up your journey right where you left off.
Pre-orders for Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition, Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition, Nioh Remastered – The Complete Edition and The Nioh Collection will begin on Friday, November 20, 2020 on PlayStation Store at midnight per your local time zone.
For those of you who are looking to continue your demon slaying journey in Nioh 2 onto PlayStation 5 from your PlayStation 4, there are two upgrade routes for you to take:
- Players that own Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition on PS4 can upgrade to Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition on PS5 at no additional cost.
- Players that own Nioh 2 on PS4 can upgrade to the base game – Nioh 2 Remastered on PS5, and receive the PS5 version of any DLC expansions they own on PS4.

Who boy. I skipped on Nioh 2 as I hadn't fully recovered from Nioh 1 and had too much on at the time. Will definitely be interested in a 120fps version!
Didnt see a mention of if you own the first game and if there is a free upgrade path though...

Eyyy DJ! Good to see you again - I still remember your Blue link at that Smash-off at Gamestation once - didn't realise it was you til we came on here later tho!

Funny enough been having the TV convo with my mate recently. I had one break recently but generally I'm still on old school standard non-smart LCD(no real 4k devices or needs atm) but I'm thinking once I have a PS5 I might start looking into new things. I really have NO idea of this whole TV market these days tho - who tend to be the trusted or respected brands these days? I used to have an affinity to Samsung but no idea if they are any good with their 4k and stuff.

Missed this so sorry for the late reply. Trusted I would say are the usual like Samsung, Sony, LG etc (but those are the standouts imo) though they tend to specialise their tv's in certain tech to differentiate themselves e.g. if you want an OLED, you gotta go LG. One thing is that I would watch and read up on this stuff because there are so many competing technologies like LED, QLED and OLED but the information between them could lead you to think they are the same (QLED and OLED) when the gulf in benefits is considerable (LED/LCD and OLED).

Personally, I go with OLED all the time. Once you have seen a proper one, you cannot go back.

5. Whew, it's been a looooong time since I posted on these forums. Probably due to not gaming on the pc these days and sticking to PS4 and chatting to the people I see over there during destiny sessions. But exciting times are ahead and it's left me wondering about other's opinions like right now, what are most people's TV situation? Has anyone gone out of their way to get a new tv for next gen? I wasn't going to, but then my OLED has been struck down with BURN-IN sickness. It's slight but I can see the Destiny lifebars when I am watching youtube and it really bother's me.

So coupled with a bit of self pity last week due to illness, I spent WAAAY too much money and bought one of LG's new 65 inch OLEDs that will support 120fps at 4k and the variable refresh rates tech. Has anyone else been 'forced' to do the same? Do you also have an inner voice telling you how much of a crazy fool you are? Or will the current TV suffice and there probably won't be much that actually achieves 60+ fps?

6. Anyone want to do the OG Leviathan raid tonight? Or the raid lairs or one of the other ones?

Also, I just want to say I have been having so much fun on this. I feel like it's finally become the game I always hoped it would be and (especially having seen the choices Digital Extremes have made with Warframe) I am super excited to see where Bungie take it now they are independent.

The absolute highlight has been Zero Hour. I don't think I've played a bit of content that needed repeating as often and was still as engaging every time I ran through it.

Ahem, 4 of us have been ready for a like year

7. It's nice to see some are returning. Would be really great to get some raids going. There is so much that the ones who remained playing in the clan have missed out on because we could not stomach lfg but we didn't have the members and we didn't want to join some random clan. Really been wanting to show my girlfriend kirsty what the raiders experience is like

8. Personally, I have stopped playing in wait for fixes and additional content. The niggling issues that annoy as you may become much more significant when you reach end game.

Watching the live streams in hopes of communication on addressing of issues is disappointing as they due to cherry picking and the actual solutions sometimes being a band aid rather than a fix.

I stand by what I said earlier about the gameplay though and even@Goafer has reiterated some of the stuff I said. But THE ARTICLE explains so much about the niggling issues that become major ones and the copious amount of bugs and issues that were fixed or avoided in destiny, division and diablo.

Since division 2, I have been waiting to see what bioware are doing but its harder to see me going back

"Given that Anthem allows you to combat opponents while flying around the battlefield, you might think there are dozens of enemies in the air. That’s not the case. Outside of floating wizards, the only flying enemies are fire-breathing wyverns. These aren’t enormous creatures reminiscent of Game of Thrones. They’re just regular-sized lizards with wings. This lack of air combat challenge and misuse of existing verticality mechanics show a design that wasn’t fully realized."

So perhaps this is something which can be improved upon in the future... if Bioware are listening to feedback then surely the game will only improve over time, I do hope so.

It's funny but as Ronnie said, the lack of flying monster is not something I noticed, mainly because it's not something I am looking for. Flying monstrosities are annoying as heck to fight in most games. But it's a valid point.

To counter it, it's more of a tool for the player, the javelin, to use against the enemies. It's another dimension you can use to attack from and for one class, the Storm, it's imperative that you hover while in combat as you receive a bunch of bonuses for doing so. If you don't, you are actually playing that class wrong and will die very quickly. Other classes can hover and fly but not as long. Colossus, really is supposed to be on the ground being the tank, the bruiser of the team for example, but they can fly and jump just like the rest.

But yeah, it's no Zone of the Enders in aerial combat for example.

4 hours ago, Sheikah said:

This game is intrinsically flawed; beyond the fact "javelins feel fun to fly", this game has pretty much nothing. The game has review bombed for good reason.

Would have to disagree with saying the game has pretty much nothing except flying but agree that the flying is the actual unique part of the experience. Mass effect 3 and Andromeda share the combat mechanics, just not on such a scale or scope as here.

As for review bombing, it's obvious that the scores are not what was anticipated by EA or Bioware. Foolish really considering the issues and they way that they released it.

The gaming industry is become more competitive every year when it comes to GaaS and FTP games. It's VERY important to get things right first time especially these days when more and more of these types of games are releasing. I mean, in just a couple of weeks time we have The Division 2 hitting store shelves.

People only have so much time and money and you can't expect them to pick up a game or stick with it just in the hope that things will get better down the line. Will people buy the game once fixes are made? Hard to say because the damage may have already been done and players will possibly be tied up with another game by then.

I would have thought publishers would have looked at Destiny and learnt from that but it appears certain mistakes are being repeated.

It will be interesting to see how The Division 2 pans out. The first game struggled out of the gate but Ubisoft seem to have a magic touch for turning their games around ( Rainbow Six, Division, For Honor ). Had I still had PS+ I would have probably gave it a punt as I enjoyed the playing the first game with gmac, my nephew and Lostmario.

Totally get that and agree with all those points. I feel as though, that we have such a robust means of updating these games now that things can be expected to be improved as time goes on. Warframe is a good and bad example of this. It's constantly evolving and expanding but in the past, for a large group of people, it was a waste of time and severely lacking on initial release. For others, it was all these things but promising and because it was free (on entry, there is no way that you would progress without spending money back in the day)  it was given time to grow and develop.

To be fair it happens with most games, I remember seeing the RDR2 thread I started resurrected from ages back once the game got closer to release.

Also you don't really need to have bought the full game to have an opinion on this, there is plenty of information/video coverage (and the demo) out there to form a reasonable opinion on the kind of game this is. Most of all though I am hearing over and over that this game is just incredibly dull and uninspired. I am getting the feeling from you that you're taking it personally and think the game is being witch hunted  or something, which is just not true. There are so many reviews out there that point out the problems with this game, either it's all a big conspiracy or there is merit to the negative press. It's not just that people love to hate on EA either - look at Apex Legends (EA published) that just came out. If it was a good game this conversation wouldn't be happening.

I can see where Ronnie is coming from. With Destiny 1, 2 Division etc. a lot of the talk here wasn't based on reviews but people's disappointment from actually playing it. There was a mix too with some people, like myself, professing the enjoyment and willing to wait for improvements. And like those games, this game will live or die dependent on player base retention.

If everyone here is alienated without giving it a chance, or convinced against giving it a chance because others have done so, what are the chances of people coming back to play when the changes, improvements and general content updates have arrived. Considering that no one returned for Destiny 2, I would say very low. And it's sad because as I said before, the core gameplay is actually good. It is just surrounded by some poor design decisions which I do believe can be fixed or changed and Bioware have been very quick to respond in comments and updates unlike Bungie.

12. At work so I don't really have the time (or the will) to do a long write up but I have been playing on PS4 if that wasn't obvious and have completed the main story and have reached lvl 26/27 can't remember. Enjoyed what I have experienced but there were bugs along that journey. Everyone knows the issues so I wont go into them but I didn't experience anything that hampered my progress. Biggest one is missing out on a cut scene but I managed to see it when I repeated the mission with my girlfriend whom is also enjoying it.

Moment to moment gameplay is awesome. It's the Mass effect 3 multiplayer, just massively expanded. Its a shame I could have this a few years ago but whatever. It's here now and because I enjoy the gameplay so much, the 'honeymoon' period for me is lasting a long while. I do remember a time when gameplay was king and forget everything else but expectations are so much higher now and a lot more is expected from companies like Bioware.

The (somewhat valid) negativity surrounding the game is a bit of a bummer with the Origin Premier Access probably playing a major part. I think it was a pretty big mistake considering the issues still present in the game (which I am sure they must have known about prior to release to get such a quick turn around) with reviews probably being more favourable if the day 1 patch was taken into account for the entire duration of a reviewers game play.

There is an element of disappointment in me though, with the expected heights for this game not being reached, but I don't feel as disappointed as I did with Destiny 2 or No Man's Sky. And seeing as I gave those a chance to improve, I will do the same for Anthem, I just hope EA will too.

13. I've not even done a single Raid in Destiny 2! When my clan played there was always load to do a raid and i missed out on slots, they left and there was only me! Now theres enough for Gambit and thats been about it. I can't see any reason why we won't be up for raiding, i know one of our group has been desperately trying to get us to commit to one! I want rid of the Rat king bounty and the other one i have for Leviathan
Hey man I'm ready to go now! Any and all raids I'm raring to go.

14. Ah cool. I saw that you'd been playing a fair bit of Gambit with them.
There's currently me, Map and Deathjam (and DJs gf) who are regularly playing. We're always up for doing a Raid. We haven't tried the Last Wish yet, but would like to. Wouldn't mind attempting to get the Legend of Acrius from the Leviathan Raids at some point as well, but not in any rush for that!
Be good to team up with you guys
Ooooooooh sounds like it's on boys!

15. Please don't let this be some sick troll

It seems various members of the gaming press are being sent little gift baskets similar to the Spryo eggs before the trilogy remake got announced.
With both the Game Awards and the Kinda Funny show happening in a couple of days time, I wonder if this will pop up in either of these shows?

Weapons

Developer Insight: With Forsaken, we've made a major change to the systems—the freedom to slot powerful weapons in either the Kinetic slot or Energy slot. This fundamental change necessitated a fresh look at a player’s damage output in both PvE and PvP.

• Primary ammo weapons and Special ammo weapons may exist in either the Kinetic or Energy slot.

• Heavy ammo weapons can exist only in the Power slot.

• Ammo type and damage type are now fixed attributes of a specific weapon.

• Ammo distribution models updated entirely to support weapon slot changes.

• Energy weapons no longer deal bonus damage to active enemy Supers.

• The Legend of Acrius

• D.A.R.C.I.

• Whisper of the Worm

Developer Insight: The tuning of Destiny weapons and abilities is inexorably tied to the systems that we build upon. 17. After spending another entire day on this, I’m now hitting a new class of enemy. Want to avoid spoilers but it’s something old, something new.
And finally got a set of armour where I can really feel the impact it’s making as it synergies with the blast weapon I made to go with it. Explosions everywhere, makes me feel like bomberman!
And I have been meaning to be diverse with my weapon choice but charge blades just have everything.

18. The Mrs just let me know that my copy has just dropped through the letterbox! Fuck yes!!!
Blade & I will be on tonight if any low rank hunters fancy joining us?
(Only low rank, or those with low power weapons if that’s ok, as I fancy a challenge from the off. I don’t want people wailing on the Monsters and taking them down too quickly - there’s no fun in hunts like that until late on in the game when you’ve experienced the hardships from early on)

I’ll be on for the entire day. I’m very addicted but still on low rank

19. I’m too busy playing the game. Played it for the entire day yesterday. Love it, even the stupid egg quest. The feeling of success when a plan comes together is rivalled only by something like blood borne.

And teaching noobsshorty, sheikah and zell how to play has been a blast. Well when I say teaching, it was more like explaining how much more bullshit this or that was in the older games like a grandad hunter.

20. I woke up extra early so I could get time to play this. Still spent for ever in character and erased most of my time so will have to wait till after work, drinks and a meal before I can really sink my teeth into it.

Think I’ll be manning charge blade but dabbling a bit in almost every other weapon this time.

Everyone else doing something similar?

Edit: oh and it’s great to be talking/playing/dreaming monster hunter again
