1. Steam has some awesome digital distribution offers. ie Left 4 Dead weekend.

I wouldn't source Nintendo as a form of decent Digital Distribution, Nintendo are pretty much tight fisted with any kind of price drop.

I see, and some interesting points of view in general after mine.

  2. Games shouldn't be half the price after two weeks and it shouldn't be lowered at such precise cycles, gamers know that two weeks is enough to get a great discount at the expense of the only working part in the trade. What's happening right now its bullshit.

Man I can't wait for digital distribution to be the standard.

I'm basically like that, I don't do "impulse" buys on anything and unless I don't have the money at the time, I buy the game as soon as its available.

OK so you think the time scale for price drops should be greater but also you say ''Man I can't wait for digital distribution to be the standard.'', what on earth for, that means A)Less options for purchase and no chance of any price drop (IE everywhere seemed to have a January sale but Wii VC shop did not) Is a price drop such a bad thing to you? B) at moment you dont need to have/pay for the internet to play most games, but you will if that becomes the norm. You must love spending money man.

Great end to the thread IMO ;) .

  3. The Video Game Industry we are allways being told is bigger than the movie indusrty and we do not see these worries from the industy there (nor have I heard anyone within the video game industry majorly airing concerns of this nature) many people simple buys dvds on the whole when they 'see them cheap in asda or on play.com', I know one guy who buys 99% of his DVD's when there in the pre owned/ex rental section of Blockbusters and as far as I know the DVD market is thriving. Back to the video games, all your seeing are the signs of harsher economic times. also many games go for less then RRP as there just not that good and people are clued up, would you spend RRP on every game?

    "Wii Gamers Don't Buy Games".

If you, as a hardcore gamer- perhaps regular gamer is a better term- are not buying your games at launch price you're not hardcore Rubbish. You're a cheap ass git with no passion for this industry or on a budget perhaps- on the foodchain you're far below those grannies and bald uncles paying launch price for Mario Kart or even Imagine Pets. If you keep buying bargain basement software, eventually, that is what you'll get.

Spend a little more guys. Er tell you what thanks for the suggestion (I have bought 3 Wii games at launch this month) but Ill look after my own cash thanks ;)

  4. Yeah this ok :) , just ran though it in story mode with Simon, the controls quite stiff but theres a good game here not that deep so maybe its lastabilty may suffer - how ever I may be jumping the gun before I few more play thoughs.

  5. I'm not entirely sure i agree with you. I don't think games- or any media- should refrain from using violence if its integral to the experience. The Silence of the Lambs demands its violence due to its subject matter- it'd be a very different film without it. I think the same can be applied to games- such as MadWorld and Overkill.

I'm again not sure the simple inclusion of violence is enough to warrant people dismissing games as adolescent. I know people with DS who'd not touch anything but Brain Training since they believe games in general are adolescent.

I'm not sure, but I'm starting to believe the older gamer is demanding- and whats being left out of the Wii lineup (including The Conduit as far as i can tell) is a deeper, well written narrative. A more cinematic experience, perhaps. But thats an argument for a different thread, i'm sure.

Point 1, so true for both for different reasons but the same principle non the less.

Additional - its all about an experience and I loved the experience of HOTD OK for many reasons but also this is about variation (as Ive said, if not here else where(im currently play mario kart Wii) ) so thank goodness for the Wii for that.

  6. Ive been in 2 minds if to get this but screw it im gonna take the chance when I get so cash soon. Edit: but then I want to get Mad World and the new pro evo and I can only afford so many games :(, Proberbly I will just end up pushin the boat out on all 3.

Edit - ordered off play, can't wait :)

  7. Jesus Christ. That's absolutely awful. After being through such a terrible event, these people should be allowed the right to a "normal" life.

Also, Jade Goody: She says that she is doing all of this for her kids, raising awareness of her illness and so forth. But...she's doing exactly the same thing as she did before she was even diagnosed! Since she...ahem...rose to fame, she's been doing exactly the same fucking thing. She's been making cash from doing very little. How many times have we seen stories about her published? How many tv shows or appearances have we seen with her featured?

Whether she has cancer or not, why is she being given so much coverage? What sort of message is this sending out?

agreed what a bunch of scummers the express are also totally agree with on the Jade Goody thing.

  8. The media is 99% scare mongering (often lazy) biased 'reporting' (im sick of it) and the BBC is very biased to towards the govenments policies in there reporting (see there reports on the 'problems' of alcohol).

The Metro is the only decent read at the moment, newspaper wise.

I get msot news off TV (impartial) or the net (can be partial, depending what the source)...can't be arsed with partisan reporting.

They can be just as bad for a cheap head line as any other paper.

  9. Apparently there's a TV Burp special. Anyone know when it's coming on?

Really, sweeet! when? when? my friends.

Sorry but Ive given to comic relief but in general I find the program annoying, low budget, un funny, cheesy and repetively preachy. can't watch it.. but TV burp is legend :))

    oh dam ive missed it.

    edit-

ok watching it now giving it a chance.

  10. Yep, it makes youtube stay as youtube.com and let you carry on watching the music videos as normal.

    I see, Thanks.

Its only official vids, for every officical vid posted there are about 100 copies of it.

    Its just hssle now =/

So as usual its not as much of an 'issue' as the media are making out.

  11. Gametrailers Review - 8.5

    http://www.gametrailers.com/player/46615.html

I pretty much only listened to the review, didn't want to watch it as being a long review I think it'll show quite a bit. All sounding fantastic though!

    IGN UK Review - 8.9

    http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/960/960384p1.html

I saw the gametrailers review, god it looks like playing a graphic novel, totally class, looks tons of fun too. The review said the game has 7 hrs of game play so perhaps thats a little off putting but hell does this appear great.

  12. As someone who uses youtube to watch the kind of music I like as apose to the rubbish that mostly played on Music Channels this is annoying to me, I watch vids from 90's grunge bands and the prodigy and more recient stuff, (off topic a bit this but..) youtube is going nuts lately with every homemade video game reviewer putting up copyright disclaimers at the start of there vids, They should not need to worry like this. I thought you could criteque anything you want due to freedom of speech) Ive put a few PSP and DS game reviews up on youtube (very amiteurish, filmed from the video mode on my camera) an Im not going to worry about this corperate BS.

(and back on topic ;) ) Its just greed from music group that asked for more money out of youtube, (vids there are free publicity surely?).

PS please excuse any type-o's have a cold n cant be arsed to proof read ;)

  13. Just a lil thread too say im back and posting now, I used to post here a few of months ago but then I had to move back with my parients for a bit - they had the net but it was such an awfully setup (ran really sloooow) it was not worth me using the net in serious way for for long periods of time (there is a bit more to it than that (the crap internet) but it's not very interesting trust me) and my dad did was not want to improve things and was happy to have half a meg in speed (dont ask, lol) well now I have new digs and good internet again, it is great to be back :) .
