  1. Thanks for that flameboy - looks really good! Can anyone vouch for this product? It also says the maximum output is 640x480 at 60fps. Is this the same resolution as 480p?
  2. First off this is also posted in the Mario Strikers board. I've reposted it here as I feel it may get more people interested as perhaps the MSC boards aren't checked by most people. I may be wrong there but thought it was worth a shot. Hi guys, From my PC gaming experience with clanned RTS and FPS games I've learned that one night only "cups" can work really well as an intense experience. What I'm looking to do here is scout out whether there is any interest in doing a one night only Strikers cup in the following format. - One night only! Players would register via a forums thread beforehand and then turn up online at the correct times. - Fixtures would be posted in the forums along with the friends codes of every player in the tournament. - Live results would be entered back into these forums as the night progresses. - The cup would be a knockout double elimination format. This means that if you lose your first round match you would enter a "lower bracket" with other first round losers giving you a chance to still win. I'd obviously provide much more clarification on this format in an official thread should the cups go ahead. Basically the system is the same as that used the the CPL if any of you are familiar with e sports. - Cups would be run on a Sunday evening from 2000GMT and should only last two hours or so but of course we won't know the time frames for sure until we've completed a cup. - Backups will also be requested in case anyone doesn't turn up on the night. I'm thinking that if this sort of thing becomes a problem the no showers would simply be banned from entering future cups. The cup would also only be open to Mario Strikers PAL users. I've chosen N-Europe to launch this idea because I believe it holds a mature user base. I'm new here yes. I did belong to a different Wii forum but have moved away from it as I find the community too childish. Please reply with some feedback, some suggestions and whether or not the interest is here. I really do hope so as I believe these sorts of competitions can provide an awesome gaming experience and really form a community around them.
  3. Nitro Bike

    Well said.
  4. New FPS control idea.

Yer I don't like that idea at all! Metroid will show us all the way on how FPS's on Wii should be done. I'm also curious to see how MoH Heroes turns out considering thats an FPS using the zapper, another thing that should work really well. Wii has the potential to make console FPS's worthwhile as currently they fall well short of PC ones because of the controls. Dual stick is simply too inaccurate.
  5. Wii60 love is increasing!

The fact that Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime weren't mentioned is absolutely obvious. They don't have online modes so had no place in that discussion. Your failure to read and understand voids your post. Strikers and Battalion Wars were brought up as examples of online play with the Wii. Halo was brought up with examples of online play with the 360. That they cannot be compared is of absolutely no relevance whatsoever. The Halo series can be compared to MoH and I would argue all day that Halo has never even matched Allied Assault. Halo fanboys really are quite frusturating - switch on your pc and play some better games. You've got a hell of a selection of titles all better than either iteration of Halo.

Wii is not over priced in the slightest. Who cares what it costs Nintendo to make? Value is all in what we can get for equivalent money elsewhere. That's how markets work and why different products have different profit margins. What I would like to add is I honestly believe the 360's game library is over rated atm. Theres not that many games I would want to play on it at all. Theres not a huge amount on Wii either but theres loads in the Gamecube back catalogue im dying to play and I can't really say the same for the Xbox, though there are a few. I honestly think the 360 needs its winter big hitters just as much as the Wii and the Playstation 3. My brother is an Xbox nut and he barely ever plays his nowadays as theres simply not enough decent games out there to last. Even Xbox Live as brilliant as it is and as much as I want Nintendo to copy it lacks enough good games. It's got Gears, it's got PGR and it's got GRAW but to be fair that's not enough after a year. Whilst they're going to get Halo soon even the Wii will have Strikers, Smash, Battalion Wars and MoH by the end of the year. That's quite a wide variety of games there, all very different in style. It's going to be interesting to see where we're at come Spring 2008. I think this winter is going to be a big one gaming wise.
  7. Expanding the Gray matter.

Let's face it, the 360 hasn't got THAT many really great games out atm but it does have more than the Wii. I think essentially it boils down to the fact that hardcore games take longer to make. On top of this third party support flourished late and so Wii software is a little delayed to what it should/could be. Once we've seen the big three in action we're going to have a very good idea of what sort of hardcore games are possible. If Metroid really does control as well as people have been claiming then it looks very, very good for future shooters on the Wii. I think with such an innovative piece of hardware it may need Nintendo to take the lead. Once the quality bar is set third parties will get closer and ultimately that means more good games.
  8. Nearly 2000 hours on World of Warcraft and a similar amount on Counter Strike 1.6 /roll eyes
  9. Star Trek: Conquest

Anyone notice those budget prices there? Whats up with that? Possibly a mistake but if not it hints at a smaller game than perhaps we'd like.
  10. Wii60 love is increasing!

I still play my Wii quite a lot. I had a GameCube last gen but I barely played it apart from the single player big guns, though notably not metroid, and smash bros. Yer we have a bit of a games drought atm but the stuff I missed out on last gen is filling that hole. I have to say though I would never, ever buy a 360 or a PS3. The only games that really appeal to me on those systems are shooters. Trouble is they're always terrible compared to their PC counterparts. My PC feeds my FPS and RTS needs and the Wii everything else pretty much. I'll never understand why people want to play CoD2 on their Xbox when even an oldish computer will run it well these days and with keyboard and mouse...... Controllers are so weak for first persons :p The Wii has the potential to change that though, I don't think it will ever be as accurate as a mouse but it could get close and it also feels more like holding a gun, roll on Metroid to find out I suppose!
