  1. My Wish

I picked up We Love Katamari for the PS2 at the weekend, and it's just soooo refreshingly different to anything I've played before and for that reason I love it. It's also very random with its presentation and the weird/funny script when NPC's describe the backdrop for the missions actually makes you want to read every detail. The gameplay is very basic, but that's what makes it so good, and that combined with the controls really makes it a joy to play. It may not be in-line with your request for "back to basic games", but it definitely comes close. If you have a PS2 then pick it up, as it represents a game designers freedom to create something you don't see very often nowdays with all the license use and yearly sequals which publishers tend to opt to.
  2. Body of woman found in my school

    It was originally about 1Mb.
  3. Body of woman found in my school

Maybe you should learn how to compress images. ^ Even on broadband that's a joke. I can't believe that this sort of thread has been reduced to google images. But that's my opinion.
  4. Sony Erricson k750i

Haha.......I couldn't get to an eviction night so I had to settle with taking a picture of these steps at one of the carparks in Bluewater. It's the lights that made me think it was photo worthy. And I'm liking your new goldfrapp sig Coo.
  5. Guitar Hero! Out Now!

I'm just going to pre-order it with Gameplay then, as I'd rather give my money to them than Game. But I'm still living in hope of a £49.99 play.com pre-order.
  6. Sony Erricson k750i

I have this phone, and it's easily the best phone I've ever had. Superb camera (2MP), vivid screen, and elegant design which you can change the covers to the W800 if you really want. The software/navigation can't touch Nokia's, and it may take a short while adjusting if you're coming from a different brand phone. I also stuck a 2Gb memory stick in (£99.99 online at www.mobymemory.com ), so I have no need for an Ipod now as I just connect my phone to my car stereo with the AUX in. I've yet to have any problems with it at all, and I even dropped it a few times on New Years eve and it never came to pieces (although it looks like it would). For the price you're paying you really can't go wrong. *Here's a photo taken with the camera. I had to reduce the quality a little because of attachment size (couldn't be bothered to host myself). Original size is something like 1600x1200.
  7. Dual Monitor Software...

UltraMon is wicked, and definetly worth the 40 dollars.........but like Jordan, a mate of mine gave me the key. It's so good that you can set up profiles for each set-up you want, whether that be 3 screens (including tv-out) or just having a certain resolution setup for the second screen.
  8. Laptop woes

This may sound stupid, but grab a vacuum and once ur lappy has cooled down use the pipe sucker thingy and clean the vent on the underside on the right, and the grill bit at the back. Works wonders, well it did with my Toshiba laptop. Or if you want to go one step futher then go get some compressed air and use that with the old vacuum trick. What processor have you got in the laptop?
  9. Should I buy an Xbox?

That's why he had the + on the end of the three! But I agree with Stocka. If you really want Shenmue 2 that much then you can pick it up for around £20-£30 on ebay, and that price will most likely increase in the future if you are ever tempted to sell it on. I would hold out until the end of this year for a 360, as it'll be getting a price drop shortly before Christmas..........plus the range of games would have increased in both the amount and the quality.
  10. Another recommend me a GPU thread.

It was originally intended to compete with the 9800pro, but the 6600GT pissed all over it. It's a pretty sound card, and includes SM 3.0 aswell, so the card is quite future-proof still. Considering the SM3.0 support then I think it has to be a DX9 card......but don't quote me on that.
  11. Another recommend me a GPU thread.

If you can add another £15-£20 onto that budget then I would recommend a 6600GT which can be found here. You may be able to find it alittle cheaper if you look around. Are you looking for an AGP or PCI-E?
  12. Nintendo will never sell their consoles at a loss, and that's fact. They're just trying to justify the stupid amount that Microsoft have invested over the last 4 years to get the Xbox brand into peoples homes.
  13. Considering the website is in the Microsoft network it doesn't surprise me that such a story has been publicised. The problem is that Sony have the most to loose...........and they will almost certainly suffer in the home console market....but by how much we don't know yet. The whole HD-DVD vs Blueray is a whole lot more important, and the PS3 plays a massive part in that. If Sony fails to get the PS3 out in all regions by the end of this year then they are going to be in some deep shit in both the console market and the storage medium race. I say HD-DVD ftw though.
  14. Universities for Gaming

Bournemouth and Tees are definitely the most industry recognised out of the three. Bournemouth has great links with alot of the major British film visual effects houses, and they often can get hold of high profile speakers from various companies..........only downside with Bournemouth is that a few hundred students apply for the Comp. Visual & Animation course and many are left dissapointed, and their entry requirements are extremely high requiring a high grade in Maths and preferably foundation studies in Art. For games related stuff though, I've found out from various people that Tees is where it's at. Don't just expect to walk onto these courses and be taught the in's & outs of 3D and games production, because you're only going to be in 12-14 hrs or so of available time with the course tutors. It's all more like you're sent away from home, and you've got 3-4 years to produce a demo reel to ship out to dev co's. If you can't stand poly pushing and art now, then it'll be near on impossible to fake the desire for it in the future. But it sounds like you've got your heart set on it and you know what you're doing. Let us know how your interviews go, and I may see you at Tees as I've also applied there.
  15. Mine was basic anatomy.........and if that offended you then good luck to anyone who dares take you to an art gallery.

  17. 1 PC - 2 Monitors

Yeah I agree. You suck. I've often got an extra screen linked to my lappy, and it increases workflow tenfold. I can happily sit there editing my webpage with ConText/CuteFTP running on one screen and Firefox on the other refreshing with each change. I also use it for when I'm ever doing anything in Flash or Director, as usually these programs flood your screen with menu's and tabs, so I just stretch the window across. And that UltraMon is a diamond program.
  18. HeadUnits (Car steroeo's)

    Any make would me fine.
  19. HeadUnits (Car steroeo's)

H&B apparently make pretty sound stereos. So that looks like a bargain at £77.49. If you're technically minded then installing a car stereo would be a doddle, but they have made them alot easier to install over the last 5 years or so. All you'll probably need is to go into Halfords and pick up a convertor plug for your Pug which'll then connect to the stereo that you buy. Or you may be able to connect it straight to it, as the connectors will all match. Seeing as your car is quite new, then I would say it'll be the latter and it wouldn't take too long to do yourself. Goodluck.
  20. HeadUnits (Car steroeo's)

My mate not long ago brought this stereo. http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=46448&doy=18m1 Priced at £99.99
  21. Driveshaft Website...

It's actually just a promotional site, and I'm very sure it's not fan made. There's tons of them. http://www.oceanicflight815.com/ http://www.oceanic-air.com/ http://www.dharmaindustries.com/ A few of them there..............note that they may contain spoilers for series two. Talking about series two reminds me episode 11 should be up tomorrow morning.
  22. PS3 Still A Conceptual Design?

They also weren't showing the controller with the console! So that aswell is most likely going under the knife before E3.
  23. Test my webpage

I can't see why you've got that "news" header text embedded into the background image tbh? Is it because you want that exact font for the title? If so, then it would make more sense for you to make the header with a transparent background and save it as a .gif, then set the main page up with tables. But yeah, I'm also getting the overlap, and the background image takes a short while to load. Also for each page the background is a different image? Using firefox here btw. I love the side panels though.......looks nice and clean.
  24. Games to watch out for in 2006

I'm hyped most for the following games:- Shadow of the Collosus, We <3 Katamari, MGS3: Subsistence, Guitar Hero, Okami, Black, Zelda TTP, Metroid Prime Hunters. It's going to be an expensive start to the year I feel aswell, with all these DS releases aswell.
  25. Guitar Hero! Out Now!

I've been following Guitar Hero for ages. And there's been plenty of uproar on the official GH forums about a EU release. I really can't wait for this, and I was tempted to import, but decided against it for some reason. I'll try and get the old staff discount at work aswell if I can, or if Gameplay's price is nice then I'll pre-order it from there. ROCK ON! :awesome: *there's still soooo many good PS2 games to come throughout this year*
