Gran Turismo at 1080p...

I'll post some later this afternoon. My missus has my camera in her bag and she's out at the moment.

My Jap PS3 turned up today along with Resistance, Motorstorm, Formula One and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I'm impressed with the noise level of the console compared to the 360 it's virtually silent, and Motorstorm looks amazing. Now to get some blu-ray movies to see it display at 1080p.

I downloaded them and Probotector is great. Streetfighter is good but like I said before it's a bit slow.

I'm loving Probotector it's as good as I remember and if anything seems harder. Streetfighter is looking good also but a little slow, if only they released the turbo edition. But they are probably my two faves released so far.

Thanks Owen, I had an email stating that mine will be shipped on the 17th of Jan. It's costing about £450 for the 60gb deal with COD3 and I added Resistence to the package. I'll pick up Motorstorm when I know for definite that it's been shipped. What do you use for the mains lead? I heard that you can use an IEC mains cable (kettle lead), is that true? I'm looking forward to the PS3 and I'm glad I ordered it, I don't spend that much money on anything else but I do like my video games. I'm looking forward to seeing it on my 1080p hdtv. I'll probably have more questions for you nearer the date. Cheers.

Well I finally gave into temptation and ordered a PS3. I know it's stupid and I'll get stung for import duty and it's overpriced, but I've come into a bit of money recently and decided to import one from dvdboxoffice.com. Has anyone got one on these forums?

I forgot all about Axelay! How could I of forgot about Axelay, a great game. One of my snes faves along with Super Probotector and Parodius. I'm glad I found this forum.

When I select a VC game to play, my tv automatically detects this and goes from 480p to 576i.

I also was gutted that Super Probotector was not available, but I downloaded R-Type instead. I forgot how hard R-Type is, compared to more recent games. Or maybe I'm just rubbish at shoot em ups. There was a shoot em up i had on the SNES years ago, and I cannot remember the name of it. It was a vertical shooter and the background used to roll like a big ripple as you flew your spaceship over it. I've been racking my brains trying to remember the name, anyway whatever it is I hope they release it on VC in the future. EDIT - I just remembered what it was.... http://www.classicgaming.com/Shmups/reviews/superaleste/index.html it was Super Aleste, the game used mode 7 and was a classic in my books.

I copied some photos over into the images folder, but it did not display them. The same goes for some mp3's. But it's only a beta, I guess they're still working on it. I hope they get it up and running as it could be a useful application. Especially if you don't own a 360.

Anyone on here can add me if they like, I have not got any other Miis on my Wii yet. I wish the online aspect of the Wii was more like Xbox Live.

I just picked up a cheap copy of the DS version. It's different and a nice change to the usual games I play.

As my tv is natively 1080p, the component cable does not really make much of a difference, there is a slight difference but not much. The screen still looks blurry and noisy. I really wish that nintendo had support for 720p, but I can see why they decided to wait a genearation.

I can see myself being tempted into buying some more wii points (or whatever they're called) and buying all the new releases next week then.

I've never really played Castlevania either, only on the DS. I don't know how the 4th in the series is regarded, but the series it self is very popular.

Wohoo! Super Probotector's out next week? I remember getting excited because I thought that the Contra game which came out on XboxLive Arcade was Super Probotector. It turned out to be just plain old Contra, I think Super Probotector was Contra 3. I'll definitely save my points for that one and R-Type maybe.

I hope they release Pangya Golf in the UK, is it due for release over here?

Are component cables still in short supply? I ordered two component cables from Play-Asia before I got the Wii. The other one's my brothers xmas present as he's got a Panasonic hdtv.

It's the component cable. The only thing that's bad about my tv is that the wii does not look that great on it, even when using component. But it's still good.
