How's your PS3 now? I hope the clicking is not the disk drive, there's been a few issues with broken disk drives. At least it's not doing this...

I want a RED wiimote.

I thought as my PS3 plays Japanese PS2 games I wondered if anyone could recommend any good Japanese titles for me? I would love to of been able to play games like Metal Gear 3, but I would not be able to due to the dailogue and text being in Japanese. Any help is appreciated.

Caris, you cannot beat that new console buzz can you? Especially the PS3 as it's so damn nice looking.

My launch console lasted just over a year, luckily I took the extended warranty offer. I have to say that all these reports of consoles breaking are quite bad, just have a look on the xbox forums. Maybe I've been lucky in the past as the 360 is the first ever console I've had that has broke down.

Does anyone remember the game Super Aleste on the snes? I can't remember if it was that popular. It was a vertical shoot em up that had great backdrop graphics that used mode 7 effects. Linky

£415 including next delivery. And it's plugged straight into the mains using a regular PC or kettle lead.

I've still got my pre-order with Gamestaion from last April. I was surprised at how much I like the PS3. I've only had it a week, but I'm really enjoying it. I've played Resistance online with no lag in a 40 person room, also there's no big drop in graphics for the online part of the game compared to other games like RB6 Vegas on the 360 which takes a drop in graphics for the online play. What I like best is that you can tell it's a class bit of kit, it's so quiet and mine does not run hot at all. I'm starting to prefer the PS3 dashbord over the 360's now that I'm getting used to it. But Live is a better multiplayer experience with the headsets and cameras etc. But my main gripe with it is when I get signed out of the network for no reason, but hopefully in time things like this will be fixed in time.

Not all of them, I've played a UK blu-ray (S.W.A.T) on my japanese PS3. But I think region coding of the blu-ray discs will become more common.

I hope you're bringing a nice wedge with you, Japan is so expensive and you just know they'll be so much stuff you'll want to take home. And no I'm not talking about a geisha.

I have to say how good Motorstorm is, I cannot put the game down. It really is one hell of an exciting game and it really gets your adrenalin going. The japanese version I have has not got online multiplayer but I would still give it a 9/10, so when the euro version is released with online multiplayer I can see it being the perfect game. And while it's no XboxLive beater I have been genuinely impressed at how well Resistance plays online. I hope Motorstorm online is just as good.

In the dashboard or xmb whatever you call it, go to Friends and highlight your username icon, then press triangle and select account management, somewhere in the menu you will see an option like Online Info. You can choose an icon in there. Great post Dante, I think that is one hell of a launch list. What shall I do with my PS3 preorder? I've had one on order at Gamestation since last April but no longer need it. Does anyone think there will be a bad shortage of consoles like all the other launchs? I'm not so sure because of the price tag and the cheaper alternative (360)

I like my FPS's, Action/Adventure, RPG's, and would definitely try rhythm/musical games. At the moment I'm really liking my oldskool style shoot-em-ups like R-Type and Parodius. Also I was wondering does anybody know if the Metal Gear Solid series has an English subtitle option in the japanese ntsc-j version? I have not played a Metal Gear game since Sons of Liberty on the PS2. Thanks.

I wish I could play some import PS2 games, but my console is Japanese and it's no good if there's a lot of dialogue or speech. Can anyone recommend any Jap games that are in English? It does not matter if you think they are old, the last time I played a PS2 was just after the first Devil May Cry, so chances are I have not played it. Thanks. I was surprised by Lost Planet, I didn't think much of the demo but the game itself is really good. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

I agree the 360 sounds like a generator compared to the Wii and PS3.

Thanks, the tv is rather nice. It was a bit of a luxury purchase but I did need a new TV at the time and it was on offer at the local Sony Centre. I actually just finished watching a blu-ray movie a friend leant me, crap film (S.W.A.T) but it did look good.

When you see it in motion the mountains and spectators look better than the car. But it's a problem when you're supposed to be paying attention to the game and you're gawping at scenery. lol
