  1. I was out last night at Gallows (a rock pub) with my mates. Eurovision was on the TV's, but obviously they'd been muted for the normal club music. However, when Lordi came on they blasted thier song out through the TV. It was great, everyone was going f***ing mental! Even more so everytime they got votes and when they won. Fantastic night! :)

I also had a friend texting me who was against Finland, she was going on and saying that they were probably cheating. My opinion was that it's just way better than all that pop crap. :p

  2. Going to see them in June (unless sky high ebay prices tempt me to sell). IAmongst all the hype i saw the apparently live they sound crystal clear, almost studio good, is that true?

They sounded amazing live, the quality and performance was immense! I'm seeing them live next month too, in Brum. Where are you seeing them?

  3. Well, I got the album this moring through the post (bless play.com!) After seeing these guys live at Give it a Name, I was instantly hooked to thier music. The album hasn't let me down either!

It's not as amazing as Tom DeLonge was making it out to be, but it's still damn' brilliant! One or two intros are quite long, which is kinda unnecessary but doesn't spoil it. 'The War', and 'Start the Machine' are two of my faves atm, although the entire album is fantastic! I deffo recommend this!

  4. At first I thought "huh?", though I did think it was cool, but not that great. Now I think it's brilliant and really can't wait till the release of 'Black Holes and Revelations"! That song's been on my mp3 player since 8th May and I can't stop listening to it! I love the video too, it's so abstract and wierd. Proper Muse style.

I'm a huge Muse fan and deffo think that this is a step in the right direction for them. Although Matt Bellamy did say that this song is a one off on the album, they say it's more diverse blend of tracks. I really can't wait, this has to be my most anticipated album of this year!

Have you heard Knights of Cydonia? I only have a live recording but I absolutely love it.

I also have that live track, it sounds immense! It's just too bad about the sound quality of the recording, though from what I can hear it sounds like it's gonna be amazing. Starlight sounds quite brilliant too.

For some reason all these tracks remind me of 'Origin of Symmetry', which for me isn't a bad thing - it's my favouraite Muse album. ^^

  5. I'm really looking forward to Sonic, has the been a realise date set yet?

    Ditto, looks immesne!

The last I heard was that it was around 40% complete at E3. I'm expecting it around the end of the year, November was a hint I heard. I doubt that we'll have to wait till 2007 though. After all, Sega won't want to miss Sonic's 15th...

  6. The Simpsons lost it's flare ages ago. I'll prolly download/see the movie out of interest but that's it.

My mates summed it up in a convo we had ages back - the characters should have grown up as the series progressed, instead of them all having eternal youth.

There's never really been a major plot point in any of the seasons to change the focus of the storyline, hence the outcome - repetitive tripe. Off the top of my head I can only rember the death of one character, and that did bugger all to change the plot majorly. He wasn't even that important!

South Park's had more twists than The Simpsons ffs! I'm even liking South Park more than Simpsons now. Though Family Guy and Futurama rule all!

  7. http://soadfans.com/Article368.htm

    Fuck... :(

They 'aint breaking up, which is a good thing, I just can't believe that they aren't gonna at least tour Europe. I 'aint ever seen them live either! I know thier only human and I respect that, but at least one last European/UK tour would be nice. Last year they even confirmed that they were gonna tour the UK this year. Though a long hiatus could result in them breaking too far appart, and I don't want that to happen.

*Sigh* I feel really depressed atm.... :weep:

  8. http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/704/704896p1.html

To sum up the artcile, here's the main points:

-Plot invovles a captured princess and a stolen Chaos Emerald becuase of Robotonik

    - A new cream coloured hedgehog is in the game as Sonic's rival. He refers to Sonic as the "Iblis Trigger", has supernatural powers and is apparentley a playable character.

    - Addition of "Town stages" where players can free-roam, as with Adventure stages is Sonic Adventure.

This sounds really interesting to me and the new screens look amazing! I admit Sega is getting a little too obsessed with adding new characters but this new one is kind of intruging. Oh, and some other Sonic fans have found out the "Iblis" is Islam for "Devil". So Sonic is a "Devil trigger"!? O_o

    EDIT:

  9. Hey, need some help here.

I want to go to the concert.

How much does the Tickets cost?

I was searching in the web and I saw ones but were stupidly expensive(95.00

I've found others but are seated tickets and I want standing.

    ...help.

The standard price is expensive, 40 quid... and that's without booking fees and postage! I'd love to see them, but there's no way I'm paying that much! Still, if you're desperate, here you go:

    See tickets:

    http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e%7Cartist=RED+HOT+CHILI+PEPPERS&resultsperpage=20&filler1=see

    Aloud:

And as for hearing the album early, I'd rather wait ta - don't wanna spoil it.

  10. Some of you should really listen to yourselves... "OMG Nintendo are doomed!", "It's called Wii, it's gonna suck!", "Nintendo have just shot themselves in the foot!" I mean, really.... how ott can you get? Okay, so I'm not too fond of the name, but I admit it's a clever concept (with good use of metaphors, it's witty, etc.)

It may be called Wii, so what? Is a name going to ruin the gaming experience? No. Is a name going to have any effect on the games that are released? No. Is a name going to effect the gameplay? No!

Some people are so ignorant. We're looking at what is probably the most innovative creation in gaming history to date, and people think it's rubbish/doomed just because of a name?

  11. Awesome looking games there! *Adds to growing list of games to purchase.*

It's my birthday soon and I'm considering getting a HDTV afterwards if I get enough cash. I was wondering, what's the best one to go for at a realistic price? Thanks if anyone has recommendations. ^^

EDIT: Scratch that, I've just been informed that CRT 32" HDTV's are going on sale in May for £350. Good timing too!

  12. The acting and dialogue were pants at times, but hey, Silent Hill, mate. The visuals were impressive, and the sound was brilliant. A lot of tunes were snagged from the game.

I felt Sean Bean's side of things were a bit over played; they kind of ruined the tension of the film. There wasn't as much gore as I hoped, but still a sufficient amount. Pyramid head, although thankfully, not over used, I felt still needed more screen time. I don't think they did his character justice.

I felt in the last hour of the film, it started to slip. The ending however, kinda left me satisfied. I'm still not sure what to make of it. I think its downfall is perhaps that it's too faithful to the games. Plenty of people who have had no prior experience of Silent Hill will get confused, no doubt.

That's the problem with this film. I loved it because it was so faithful to the games. Some people are not gonna like it because of this. I thought that trying to follow the game so closely was a bold move by Gans, but a nessacary one. At least this isn't a disaster like the Resident Evil films.

i saw it today. it rocked so much. did any scenes remind you of resident evil 4 at all? i think its the best game to film adaptation.

It didn't to me. Though funnily enough, one bit reminded me of F.E.A.R. The part when Rose saw the girl run across a room before heading up a flight of stairs. The sound made as she appeared was the exact same pitch as when you see Alma in F.E.A.R. Mind you, that's the generic scary girl thing in horror flicks...

  13. Well, I'm not gonna spoil the movie for anyone, although I'm expecting there will be a few spoilers later on.

I saw this last night and thought it was great! Okay, so the plot isn't that brilliant... but I really thought that the environments and monsters were really true to the games. Heck, they were pretty much exactly like the game, which is how it should be! The atmosphere was spot on too, sections were really tense and some parts freaky, although I thought parts got a little slow.

Oh, and I noticed some great references too (particularly the nurse in that room *shudder.*)

I seriously think that this has to be the best game to movie adaption yet. It's even a good film in itself imo!

  14. All sounds good to me, if even some of it is true I'll be happy. Some of those look far more realistic than other rumors I've seen. Price reductions/free gold accounts is whishful thinking though. :/

    - New feature, download and play is coming.

I'll take a guess that this feature will let you play a game/browse the dashboard whilst being able to download items from the marketplace in the background. I hope it's this anyway, I'm fed up of having to stare at a download screen for ages...

  15. Gorillaz were a brilliant band and a brilliant concept. This was so sudden, I never saw it coming. They will always reamain brilliant imo! It is sad to see them go, but going out in style is prolly best. Though this does kind of explain the ending of the "El Mañana" video... :(

  16. Thanks again folks! You're great help. :)

I've been looking around and found this: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=offers.pressoffers

Some bloody great deals there imo, the Z500 stands out for me at the moment (only because it's the cheapest though.) :p

Oh and this may be a little late, but just in case it happens again i'd recommend one of these:

    http://play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=GADG&title=587000&p=439&g=539&pa=sr

That's one of the coolest ideas I've ever seen. Thanks for that, I'll pick one up soon.

  17. No big loss then. Cheer up. Email you friends for their numbers, and this time write them down!

All I can say is thank god for msn, it's seriously useful in this kinda situation. I'm not stressed out now either. I was just panicing when I started the thread, prolly because I was a tad drunk when I got back this morning... :red:

It was only a 7210 anyway, and I've been planning on getting a new phone for a while (the V3 Razar looks nice.) If I'd lost my mp3 player though I'd be going mental right now.
