  1. It should work... I think?

I was going to possibly buy a USB caddy for my old PS4 hard drive so that I could move a couple of things back onto the machine at a later date, I don't see why this is any different from using a non-powered hard drive as a backup. : peace:

Cheers for the help! :) I don't see why I wouln't either, just I'm a bit paranoid, haha. I'll get round to sorting it all on Saturday, when I have more time free.

The caddy sounds like a good idea, actually! I may have to follow suit once my PS4 upgrade is done!

  2. Ugh, ok guys, not sure if I've done a bad here.

I bought a 2TB hard drive to upgrade my PS4 with, which should be fine, as it's been recommended by various places. However, I got a 500GB external drive on a whim, so that I could back everything up. Unfortunately, it's one without an AC cable, it's just got the USB port (it's a Toshiba branded one btw.) Will the external HDD actually work? I have a horrible feeling that it won't...

  4. So it appears Sega are set to announce a new Sonic game at a 25th anniversary event on 22nd July. It also looks as if Sonic Team have been in charge of this one, and if that's the case, then it'll be their first Sonic game since 2013's Sonic: Lost Worlds. The platform(s) it's being developed for have yet to be determined.

    http://www.vg247.com/2016/06/25/new-sonic-the-hedgehog-game-slated-for-release-next-year/

What are you guys hoping for/expecting from this? Personally, I'm hoping for something with similar gameplay to Generations, although it'd be amazing if it were Sonic Adventure 3 (which I doubt is likely.) Also, it'd be nice for Sega to finally release a game in the franchise on PS4 and XBox One. Seeing a truely next-gen Sonic game would be amazing!

Of course, it could suck, but I really hope it doesn't...

  5. What you gonna do though. The best we have is turning out and voting, whatever the outcome I'll know I went and had my say in what is, truly, a democratic vote.

But if you want to make yourself feel better don't buy a beer and bet the money on opposite outcome to what you want. That's what I've done anyway - I'm a winner either way :p!

Fair point, at least I did my part, and voted for what I felt was the right choice! Sound advice on the betting idea there too. XD

As for riots, I can see them happening if we do stay. Guess I'd best be careful tomorrow. *Prepares suit of armour*

  6. I'm so glad "Shake it all about" made it into the thread poll, good work!

Seriously though, I cast my vote about 30 mins ago, and voted to stay in the EU. I'm happy to see that the majority have voted the same here too. Still, the fact that recent opinion polls were so close makes me very nervous about tomorrow...

  7. We have a bit more info, thanks to interviews with Polygon and Eurogamer, and it's all been summed up at Rely on Horror: http://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/resident-evil-7-combat-herbs-protagonist-etc-polygon-eurogamer-interviews-confirms/

    • RE7 will "not be a gun fest" like RE4-6, focus is on making "every bullet count"
    • That said, there will be a way to fend off your foes, so you're not completely helpless
    • We play the role of a new protagonist, a normal civilian. So no BSAA-like heroes with beefed up powers
    • RE7 is going back to basics
    • Herbs will return
    • Set in 2017, 5 years after the events of RE6
    • Game is "not a reboot, it's a rebuilding from the ground up"
    • The fact it shares the "Resident Evil" and "Biohazard" names in the title is a hint as to what's happening in the game
    • A more focused and "claustrophobic story"
    • Set entirely in a plantation in Louisiana
    • Game is "stripped down to it's core" with a focus being "first and foremost on horror"
    • Game will entirely be in first person

The more I hear about this, the more promising it becomes. This is the most excited I've been for a Resident Evil game in a very very long time! :bouncy:

Also, in regards to the demo... apparently there's actually a way to ESCAPE from the house. No solution has been found as of yet though:

    http://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/e3-2016-resident-evil-7-demo-is-beatable-possible-to-escape-the-house-says-capcom/

    Time to go exploring.

  8. Doesn't look like it. The demo that's available now is first-person, and nowhere mentions a third-person mode.

After watching the trailer, and playing the demo, I'm pretty hyped for this! This is really not what I expected RE7 to be (but then who did), but it really works, and the presentation helps it to feel like an RE game. It's definitely not as scary as PT, but it's an extremely tense experience. It looks like there's going to be puzzle elements to it again too, judging by things scattered around the environment.

Although, whilst this is a big change of formula for the series, the fact it's called "Resident Evil 7" makes me believe it'll be a continuation of the story somehow. Whilst we have a trailer and a demo, there's really very little info, which makes me think there's gonna be some big links to the previous titles.

  9. Urgh, God no...Please use the No Man's Sky slot for something new.

Yeah, fair point, it'd be nice to make way for more new titles. I hope they steer clear of the conferences, and just have some sort of presence/update at the show. Then again, with the way they like to keep hyping this, it's bound to get another big showing.

  10. Not sure how I feel about this delay myself. I'm currently hovering over the 'Cancel pre-order' button, but that's mainly due to funds. I have two festivals lined up and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is also released in the same month (a series which I care about dearly), so I may not be able to justify it.

Hopefully they'll have some sort presence at E3, but that's going to be make-or-break for me...

  11. Hey guys, just a quick question regarding PS Plus...

If there's a PS4 with multiple accounts, and only one user has PS Plus, shouldn't all users get the benefits from the Plus service? Thing is, I have a PS Plus account, and my flatmate doesn't. He's been quite happily playing Dark Souls III online since it launched. However, for some reason it's decided to block him from accessing the online features, and asking him to sign up to PS Plus. Is there any reason for this? Have Sony and/or From Software decided to block the online play, unless accounts are specifically registered with Plus?

    Cheers if anyone can help!

  12. So I completed the campaign for the first time last night (I was taking my time with it), and I think it's an absolutely amazing game!

The campaign is easily the best I've played in a first-person shooter in the past decade! The level design is absolutely brilliant, the action is intense and the weapons (plus their mods) are so much fun to use. I think they absolutely nailed the difficulty of the combat too, it felt like the right level of challenging (I was on 'Hurt Me Plenty'), and when I died I felt like it was genuinely down to my skill level. Oh, and the soundtrack is magnificent it completely suits the vibe of the game, I really hope it officially gets released. I'm definitely going to be doing another few runs of this whenever I get the chance to, as I need to try and track down all the secret areas.

I had some friends round last night , and we all took it in turns to attempt to complete the first level on Ultra Nightmare. Bloody hell, it's difficult! I don't think we even got half way through, and we died countless times. It really has a very Dark Souls vibe to it, especially as it shows the locations where you, and other players have died. I thought that was a neat little touch.

But yeah, once again, I cannot recommend this game enough! For those of you that were disappointed with the multiplayer beta, this is still worth it. The campaign feels entirely different and totally like a modern revival of the Doom franchise. I honestly can't remember the last time I had this much fun playing a game...

  13. So did anyone get this? My Collector's Edition arrived on Friday, and I think it's brilliant!

The gameplay is solid - the combat is fast, visceral, and it flows beautifully. The Glory Kill animations actually don't interrupt the gameplay either, they're quite quick, which put my main fear that it would become too distracting to rest. The armour + weapon upgrades and rune skills don't feel very Doom, but somehow they actually work, plus it's an excellent excuse to explore the levels (which have incredible design by the way, they're HUGE!) As for story... it's a bit weird. It's not bad by any means, but it's certainly not going to win any awards for best plot, even though it can be intriguing at times. Oh, and visually it looks incredible, and runs at a solid 60fps throughout.

Word of warning though, for those of you that do pick this up, if it's the PS4 version, get the day 1 patch first. It is 5GB, but there were massive screen-tearing issues and some frame-rate problems before I got it. It's about the only issue I've had so far!

Honestly, I can't recommend it enough, I haven't had this much fun from playing a game for years! It's glorious!

  14. I personally loved the beta! Sure, it wasn't what I expected, but once I got used it it, I thought it was great.

So it launches this Friday, who's looking forward to it? :D Oddly enough, I've got an e-mail from GAME, telling me they're processing my order for Homefront next week... and there's nout on Doom. I sure hope it's a mistake.

  15. I saw the trailer earlier, it's so EPIC! By the sounds of what they're doing, this is going be awesome. I think I'll need to upgrade my PC for this one...

*Also, can a mod change the thread title plz? Thanks!*

  16. Well, I was quite far off with the time travel theory, wasn't I? :heh:

It still looks interesting, but the Modern Warfare remaster is what has me interested. Mind you, if the space combat is implemented into Infinite Warfare's multiplayer, then it could be really interesting. If there's not a map like Unreal Tournament 2004's AS-Mothership, then they're really missing out on a huge opportunity.

  17. Higher resolution image that confirms the CoD4 remaster, unless it's an elaborate prank. Seems legit though. (The pic appears to be a Canadian one, which is why it looks so expensive.)

    call_of_duty_infinite_warfare_leak_high_res_1.jpg

Only 10 of the original 16 multiplayer maps are packaged with it? They'd better not be holding some of them back for DLC. Mind you, this is Activision we're talking about...

  18. Crazy theory time that's absolutely baseless...

I wonder if they may go for some crazy Assassin's Creed sci-fi style stuff, where you switch between a modern day/futuristic setting and the WW1 era, via the use of some sort of machine? It probably won't happen though, and it'd probably be rubbish tbh. :P
