  1. I'm 11 points short of the £5 Premium Discount offer so I'm hoping something arrives before Christmas that I want on the Wii U eShop. If not, I reckon I'll buy a 24-Hour Wii Sports Club pass to take me past the threshold so that I can claim my money :heh:

I believe it was specifically said in the promotion website that you can't get points from karaoke or Wii Sports passes...

  2. My local supermarket has all 12 amiibos of wave 1 for 16.95€ each. I'm thinking whether to invest in the more rare ones, just in case they really do stay rare and wanted. I don't currently have any amiibo that I'd want to buy for myself. I like Robin in Smash but only as female and I doubt that will get its own amiibo.

  3. I hosted another Smash Bros Wii U party today for local and Japanese students. Really enjoyed Smash with 8 players, after that went through my game collection and played Puyo Puyo Fever on Dreamcast with 2 players, the sequel for DS with 4 players and finally some retro Smash Melee with four. Also played some Taiko no tatsujin DS with four. Local multiplayer is awesome...

  4. I just started this game on PS3 because I got it for free. If the Wii U version was cheaper and with dlc included I might have considered getting it. By the way, this is the last (relevant) multiplatform game for the Wii U isn't it? And I just got the console :(

  5. So I did it and bought a Wii U this week, along with Tekken Tag 2 and Wii Party U which were both half-free from bargain bins. Also got Wii Fit U and meter which was my main reason to get it now. Yeah I admit the console is pretty fun, tried Bayonetta 2 demo but was definitely not impressed with its graphics or frame rate, looked like it was missing anti-aliasing. On the other hand, Nintendo's own games look damn good, and Tekken looked the same as PS3 version. I am going on a mission to find all the launch games like ZombiU, ME3, Batman Arkham City etc. since they are so cheap now. But... I am a bit disheartened that they are both the first and almost last third party games that are coming. It really is a shame, if Assassin's Creed Rogue and Resident Evil Revelations 2 were coming for Wii U I'd definitely pick those up.

    PS4 is a must-buy next year.

  6. There's a Wii U Premium Pack (the 32gb one with Nintendo Land, launch version I suppose) for 229€ at a store near me, and I just figured the best excuse to get one: I need Wii Fit U. I failed with Wii Fit Plus 3 years ago because I felt it was such a hassle, I didn't want to always change the disc when playing something else and I simply didn't have room for the balance board. But now I could buy it digitally, use off-TV play and also use the Fit Meter so even if I forget to play the actual game on Wii U at least it will give me progress with my regular walks. Yeah, I think I'm gonna go for it!

  7. Those controllers look disgusting.

Anyways, I finally got to play Wii U yesterday for the first time. It's hard to find a person with one here. We had a Japanese food party with Finnish and Japanese students and one guy brought a Wii U with Nintendo Land and Ninja Gaiden 3 (yeah not exactly a party game but...) and we played Nintendo Land for an hour or so with 5 players. It was pretty fun, my favourite from the games we tried was Luigi's Mansion, it was fun and we took turns with the gamepad. We also spent some time playing NG 3 on hard, taking turns as we died. I, of course, was the best player with my über Ninja Gaiden Black skills from Xbox era ;)

I suppose I'll pick one up once I can find one for dirt cheap, if for nothing else than to entertain random guests once or twice a year. I have at least 2 usable GC controllers for Smash Bros already.

  8. Hmm, I was pretty sure that with the limited edition you were only going to get a 5 track CD, and the 20 track one was with the Collector's Edition. But basically the CE included a huge ass box that doesn't fit any shelf, a 3DS XL case (I only have regular) and some... cards. Why did I buy this...

The game is great though. Don't forget to pick up your free DLC before it's too late.

  9. So I started university this year and happened to have my 3DS with me in my bag today, and at some point took it out between classes and people (age 20-25~) were like "what the hell is that" "is it an electronic dictionary?"

And they all play Candy Crush Saga and other Facebook games constantly during class. Gaming has changed.

  10. 3DS has an incredible six region codes, it has to be some kind of record. Knowing Nintendo we'll probably just get more locks in their next consoles. They could still divide Europe and Australia (they are already different codes but compatible), North and South America, divide UK and Europe, Europe and Russia... So many possible region locks, I think some Nintendo exec is wetting his pants at the thought.

  11. you'd just claim it on your insurance and re-download them.

I had a ps2 with a hd full of games that was stolen and I claimed for every game on the hd.

You mean a PS3 instead of 2? Those digital games where already safe and sound tied to your account.

  12. Yeah but because the possibility is there, it won't make a difference if my bag is stolen whether it has all my carts and 3DS or just a 3DS with digital games. Remember there is no Club Nintendo here whom I could go around sending police reports to about my stolen 3DS to get my digital games back. I don't have such worries with anything else though. Just like I don't mind if my house burns down, all my files are stored in clouds, and my save games too.
