  1. Wii or Zune?

Like Steve Jobs stated, the use of the wireless functions is quirky. He said that you could share music to someone else who could listen three times to it and then it would be deleted, but it's troublesome to do so and you've got to be lucky finding someone doing the same thing. Just like the DS, I find it stupid to find someone you don't know in the area. Never got any notion from the DS that someone is in the area...
  2. Zelda is shaping up to be the greatest. It's going to be huge. Huge. I think I made the right choice pre-ordering it and using it to be my only gale at launc. I'll certainly last untill christmas with that!
  3. Wii games that might not be all that!

But the gaùe is only early in development and probably they had to find a way to control the demo, even though their control sheme is not finished yet. I bet they're including the motion-sensing soon enough. That's what the guys over at IGn think, and I can't say they don't make a point...
  4. Wii or Zune?

I'de go for a Wii. Mainly because an MP3 player can be bought for no price latly and I never really saw the use in buying expensive ones. If you are buying one, i'de advise you to get an iPod. iPods are the reason Microsoft is releasing Zune - and using competive reasons to make product never beneifted Microsoft. Look at Windows XP (opposed to Mac OS 1O.1) and Windows Vista (as seen in Mac OS 10.4 Tiger, and as stolen from). Apple has more expreience and certainly has an easier way of use. Go for iPod or Wii - that's the question.
  5. Wii games that might not be all that!

To be honest, I've got incredible faith in Ubisoft concerning the Wii. They've really shown to puit some times in it. Okay, the ports might not be worth a look (GT Pro series can't be that good, can it?), but Red Steel as well as Rayman: Raving Rabbids have both shown that Ubi is certainly trying to be the number one developer on the console. They believe in Wii like EA believes in PS3 (with thirty titles in development...). EA is another topic, though, because EA games can be average to mediocore, but they're never réally bad. THQ, I don't trust the guys to be honest. But they're showing some nice games and it's not looking up to be bad. Personally, I have faith that every developers at least will try to innovate. The innovation will keep going as long as developers can think of original ideas before other developers. If that's over, Wii will become a normal, settled-in console with defined controls for every genre. Like it all the others now. On topic, though: I wouldn't give my hand for films converted into games - no Cars, Barnyard or Open Season for me. I don't really have enough faith in Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Touched! really dissapointed me, being short and all). I think Disaster: Day of Crisis and Project H.A.M.M.E.R. will be great games in their own way.
  6. The start up disc.

I'm still having trouble thinking that the disc would be to install region. If Nintendo doesn't want us to gain acces to other regions - or import - they wouldn't make it that easy, now would they. And even so, what good does it do? I personally think you'll be paying more import costs. And the GameCube was hardwired to the region, not? Why wouldn't Wii have that? Would be simple, they've bein producing these GameCube chips for years now, so... I'm sorry, I just don't believe the disc story here...
  7. Wii Hardware Discussion

Wire"less still requires Batteries or AC connections. I don't think it's the worst idea about wiring the sensor bar - in the end, I'll be replacing my AA betteries in the Wiimote often enough already, so buying a pair for the sensor bar every week won't be the option.
  8. The start up disc.

I seriously doubt and I don't see the point to bother with it. I'de be happy just to be able to use the Channels for now...
  9. European Wii Preorders

MediaMarkt seems large and reliable, but I would never pre-order there. They're not really dedicated to the product, wich may be a problem. I never realy liked the gigantic, anonymous stores. But I'm hoping you're gettin g one too.
  10. Mario Party 8

But it appeals to many. Many. Many buyers. If it wouldn't, Nintendo wouldn't even bother making one anymore.
  11. The start up disc.

Oh, and the console gets packed for Europe too, so why wouldn't the OS be installed on it? If they have to pack it in different packaging, they probably won't find it a hassle doing that...
  12. Lost - Series 3 [spoilers]

As a whole theorie, I personally think it would have something to do with energy and it's strange nature. The creature ('security system') is a heap of energy in a pure form (wich is why it appears black, energy doesn't show light). the Dharma initiative has bein investigating the island for a long time. They settled there a little after Hiroshima (or sometime in that neighbourhood) hwen the nuclear explosions ripped of the shield of the island, wich protected it. They re-created the shield (using electro-magnetism). Then there was an incident. They hid, stopped research but left someone in the hatch to type the code. I was just thinking. Would make sense this way. And it would explain the thunder in the creature.
  13. Mario Party 8

Mario Party is a franchise. A lucrative one. So if Nintendo brings it to the masses, they'll cash in, any time, even if the market is flooded with party games. Wii's gonna be a party-blast, anyway - so no doubt we'll get the 'we' in 'Wii' working. Yes, we will...
  14. European Wii Preorders

First, I'de like to point out that I believe GameDaily more than an opinion of one person. Second, I doubt Wii will become the next GameCube. GameCube never knew the support of so many developers. GameCube never really got off in the first place, and purple wasn't the color that people liked to look at. Nintendo will reach out to the larger audience and attract none-gamers. Why? The reason these non-gamers don't game is because of the difficulty of the controllers and such. So if they go to the store, they won't just start buying an Xbox - that doesn't make sense. They'll wait for Wii or try it in-store and know that it's worth waiting for. i'm not being fanboy-ish, but it just doesn't make sense to me why it wouldn't be like this. On topic, though, my local Game Mania store got 49 preorders (but actually, a total of 109 people pre-ordered the system at the store, of wich the remaining 60 have not paid for their pre-order and therefor can only go and buy it one day one. Didn't really catch how it works, though), wich is pretty good for such a small store. I'm thirteenth on the list and the counterboys (Danny and Wouter) told me the chances were high they could fill my pre-order. But they're not quite sure they can fill half of them on launch day. It's looking positif. Now perhaps it's time I shut up, I'm way past my 200 character limit, wich, only exists in my mind.
  15. The start up disc.

I doubt freeloader will get you Japanese or English VC games - and I think that's the major reason people are wanting an American Start-up disc (or japanese one, either way). Anyway, I'm getting my Wii in europe and not waiting for an American nor japanese startup disc to pop onto ebay. Not willing to pay €100 for it either, so I'm gonna go with the official stuff. I've never really complained about not being able to play import and Europe has always served my needs. Late, but that's better than never.
  16. Mario Party 8

There is one for Game Boy Advance. But the scores were pretty bad. But if they would port Mario Party 1 (or 2) to the DS and throw in some touch-minigames and touch-controlled dice-rolling, the game would be worth buying. If think.
  17. The latest South Park episode

To be correct, it actually was 'Go Go God Part II', not part one. God knows if we'll ever see the ending to this story. Good show, though.
  18. The start up disc.

You know, NoA doesn't pay attention to Europe - they don't haave anything to do with Europe, thaat's why we got NoE. And what's with all the blaming of NoE? They've being doing a great job since they opened real European offices, and yes, they don't have the resources nor the power to become better than NoA, but that will change. Just give it another generation and they'll show their true power. And if Leipzig might be the new E3, Europe will get more resources. Just wait. And by the way, I don't think we've got that much to complain about concerning Wii, the launch and the region lock. It makes perfect sense, and it's a great line-up. You all just wait.
  19. Mario Party 8

That is exactly why Mario Party 8 will be a worthy buyer again, but Mario party 9 might spoil it with being the same over again. But let's just look out for more Mario party 8 for now, and worry 'bout nine later... And I think, from what I've seen and read, that it's shaping up to be good altogether.
  20. Would they actually have played the game? It's still more than a month till the European launch, and American magazines do not have their Wii's very long yet, so how would an European one pull it of? Doesn't matter, I'll be receving NGamer somewhere next week, but I don't really trust the fact that they've played and reviewed Wii games already... But in the end: the standars are set now, if a games better than Red Steel it will be hard to score it apropriatly...
  21. nintendo-europe-media

Okay, we'll be nice to you, little boy. Now go to mumsy and popsy. Just kidding. It's just not really something worth discussing, now is it?
  22. MS Windows Vista Box Shot

For once I have to say: microsoft did a great job on Vista. I'm a designer, so Macs are my home (and I love them, too), but Microsoft nicely stole allot of features that Apple ripped of the 'making in Longhorn' list of two years ago. Microsoft is certainly proving they can make an appealing operating system. Don't know if it will work well, though - and that's the quality of Mac... Nice box, though, and Microsoft certainly surprised me when I saw the first screens. Impressive.
  23. nintendo-europe-media

Seems the same to me, too. One interesting tidbit for you: lying about your age doesn't actually mean you are older. Really, it doesn't.
  24. nintendo-europe-media

It's Nintendo's press website. Bet it includes High-Def Art and those kind of things - things the media needs to make Nintendo look good. A little like every company has. Interesting though, because I never knew nintendo actually had such a website. Well, glad that topic is cleared. Now, elt's go on to the more interesting things like perhaps, Wii?
  25. One last secret - and its BIG!

Indeed, but the Wiimote has rumble (at least, I think it has), wich the PS3 controller doesn't. Oh, and let's not forget the nearly-perfect Nintendo Directional pad; Yeah...
