-JC- Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I believe it was early last year that Nintendo and The Cloud announced free wireless DS gaming via Nintendo WFC at all Cloud hotspots (basically anywhere with an Itbox gamin machine). While I haven't been able to try this out, my friend has a bit of a dilemma. Before you tell me that I'm barking up the wrong forum, my friend actually wants to connect her Wii to the service. She's the manager of the pub that the Itbox resides in, and she's just signed up for £9.99/month for unlimited Cloud usage across as many devices as she'd like. Her laptop works and so does her phone (with wi-fi). However, although the Wii picks up the SSID, it won't connect. The way she has to connect via laptop is by trying to access the internet, and then the IE / FF window will show a Cloud login page, after which she is free to browse. I've tried looking for adding MAC adresses of devices like the Wii to bypass this service, but no luck. Has anyone else tried using a wireless hotspot such as the Cloud to connect their Wii to? If so, how? Would I also be able to use a wireless access point to connect to the Cloud router permanently, spoofing the Laptop's MAC, and then distributing the internet through devices connected to that? Thanks in advance for any responses, and sorry if this is a misplaced thread.
