  1. You mean the console that was selling for ~75£ 3 years after it launched? The same one everyone else paid 200£ for? Yeah. that's the best possible example of you why you shouldn't ever buy a console at launch.

That's not the argument is it. The dreamcast launch in the west was unrivalled. If you bought a dreamcast on release day you were set and had no problem until the console died as the amount of high quality games released on the dreamcast in such a short space of time was incredible.

  2. Disappointing, but not surprising. It's exactly like Tri on Wii.

Yeah and not nintendo's fault but capcom's decision.

    Edit

    From neogaf

For the record, the good Andrew Alfonso (Project Manager for Capcom's localization department) told me and Likchan on Twitter that:

    It's Nintendo's servers so...

What a crap day to be a wii u owner. Good going nintendo.

  3. Nintendo should just pay Ubi to release it early and thus cover such costs.

I know there's an argument for them not doing this but it is probably worth the investment. Especially if the game is finished. Perhaps they decided to add NFC functionality or know that the next consoles from MS/SONY are backwards compatible?

Nintendo are publishing the game in Japan and that didnt matter.

  4. Origins might as well have been a new IP. It pretty much came out of nowhere and carried on through word of mouth. People are prepared for Legends, sequels always sell better.

But whatever, I'm going to pick it up, I didn't think I'd be able to before today, I don't really care how much it sells.

word of mouth or the fact it was discounted heavily shortly after release. Going by miiverse word of mouth isnt good right now and wii u owners will sit this one out.

For me the multi platform isnt the killer. Its the fact that the game is finished and they are delaying it till september.

  5. Definitely the same audience right there. Same genre. Same art style. Yeah, real clash.

Worked out great for origins that launched the same week as Assassins Creed and Super Mario Land. Great job :shakehead

Nobody will give a damn about Rayman after E3, let alone when GTA 5 is on the horizon.

More chance selling more copies to wii u owners now than in September.

  6. Ubisoft must have always been aiming to make the game multiplatform though at some stage surely?... So why do this now 2 weeks before the Nintendo launch?

I assumed the Nintendo launch was for a set/agreed timed exclusive. Ubisoft can't have just decided this just now?... so why give the Wii U version a launch date in the first place?

Probably thought the hardware sales would of been better up until now.

  7. Considering cancelling my pre-order... anyone else in the same boat? Or not too fussed...

It's Rayman and will bomb. You will be able to get it for £25 within a few weeks of release.

It's crazy that someone can download a demo today for game that isnt out until September.

  8. This is devastating and truly sad. It was the 1 third party game I was really looking forward to. Even playing Origins in preparation for it. Now there's a 6 month delay and it's multi platform. The Wii U is a joke at the moment. This was a big exclusive to lose. We can't get PS3/XBOX360 ports for whatever reasons but they can get ours. This is partly Nintendo's fault. They could have thrown some money Ubisoft's way to keep it exclusive and I'd say Ubisoft are nervous of Wii U's poor sales so far.

The thing is Rayman doesnt sell anyway. It wont sell loads multiplatform. I would like to know the reason for the delay of the Wii U version when its ready?

The Wii U cant catch a break right now. Have Ubisoft looked at the console sales, the sales of zombi U and then come to this decision?

  9. This is a huge blow and at a mimimum it should of been released on Wii U as planned and then they could of done released the ports down the road.

It's just more bad news another nail in the coffin regarding 3rd party support.

  10. Yup, but why they thought All-Stars Battle Royale could compete with a price tag over 4500 is beyond me.

The game bombed in every region. Nobody cares about those characters.

Yikes at the Wii U software sales (Nintendoland included). Selling less software than the Vita in the UK.

The Wii U in the UK is on life support right now.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale bombed hard!!

  12. What with all this bargain hunting going on I feel I should point out that this is being released on the eshop this week for £49.99! Daft as a brush.

Ws in GAME on the weekend and they want £50 for this game. It's mental. They also want £40 for 3DS games. That shop operates on a different planet!!

  13. WOAH! Ni-No-Kuni at No1!? No way! :o

Granted, the actual numbers are probably still very low, but just wow! It's amazing to look at! :D

Fifa sold 17.6k and Ni-No-Kuni beat it by a maximum of 500 units so it sold no more than 18.1k

An indicator of how the UK market is right now and makes you wonder what numbers the games at the bottom of the chart are selling? The fact that the Vita and Wii U haven’t had any software in this chart for weeks now really isn’t a good look for either system.
