  1. Soul Calibur Legends

I cant help but feel unimpressed by this game, which is a real shame. It has a lot of potential, but i dont see it. The graphics look a bit bland, though apparently run very smoothly. But what makes this a real disappointment is the gameplay. It looks so.. shallow and repetitive. There's no soul (pun intended) in this game. I'll reserve judgement till the first reviews show up. It's definitely not a day one purchase, if at all. There are far more interesting games for me that deserve my hard earned cash. Hopefully potentially bad sales of this game wont hurt our chances on a proper Soul Calibur title...
  2. No More Heroes

Yeah! Finally confirmation! Day 1 purchase for me. I like the sound of having to do other stuff other than killing and killing. It seems like there are some short missions in between to earn money or something. Should be a nice diversion Hopefully this gets released before SSBB, otherwise it'll be neglected, which is a shame. I do wonder when Europe will get its hands on SSBB though. Feb 11 for US, Jan for Japan. March or April for Europe?
  3. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

Did I see a split second of Ada Wong in there? At 2:35 there a woman in red clothing walking by, holding a sample in her hand. Her arm seems to be seem put in bandage, which would make sense. I haven't played the game, nor do i know the complete storyline, but in RE2, Ada Wong 'dies' but gets saved by Wesker. In RE4, she works for Wesker, albeit with her own goals. If true, there may still be some RE2 storyline in UC. Great trailer btw!
  4. Street Fighter IV

Awesome announcement! Though I seriously doubt it'll be for me. Definitely not an exclusive. I think it'll head to 360/PS3 and arcade first. After SF4, there'll be a revision after revision. After the first revision you should see the game being ported to other platforms. In the end, it'll reach every conceivable platform there, including Wii, DS and PSP. It may not be the same game, but it'll carry the same name. Remember, they're releasing a SF Alpha game on mobiles! From the looks of it, it does seem like a hi-end title. I wonder if it's 3D with cool new cell-shaded styles, or 3D look+2D gameplay or just 2D? Maybe it's not even a fighter as we know it, but perhaps it's a turn-based RPG?
  5. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

I can't wait for this game. It's easily one of my most anticipated game. It's rivalling SSBB for first place I guess. I'm replaying Fire Emblem GBA at the moment, loving everything of it. I'll make sure to restart another FE:POR game again. The best improvement so far: the units can finally walk in smooth corners! Yay!
  6. PES 2008 Pro Evolution Soccer

I think it has grown on me already. While i definitely like the idea of point where i wanna shoot/pass and have teammates move where i want them to move, having those arrows on-screen looked a bit weird to me. I think I'll get used to it. It sounds very promising. We'll have to see how it plays and if it wont get too confusing, since you can controls so many things. I doubt this game will sell very well in comparison to PS2 (is there gonna be one?), PS3 and 360 version. The hardcore fans will not accept the changes, they'll moan how bad the controls are and standard controls are better. It'll only sell to the PES-hungry Wii fans out there. I dont want this to be another Winning Eleven 6 for GC, ie only one game. If it bombs, it'll be the last we'll ever see. That'd be a shame. As for now, Im liking the idea. I'll keep an eye on it.
  7. Monster Hunter Tri

I've just been on the Eurogamer site. I laugh at all those fanboys who just lost a major 3rd party title (in Japan at least). They all make assumptions the game is either or everything below: - PS2/PSP remake - uses PS2/PSP engines - has bad controls - has bad online capabilities - put on the wrong console out of all It's funny how they can make claims with just one teaser trailer and zero info. I doubt they've even SEEN the trailer yet, which, btw looks absolutely lovely. I dont mind constructive critisms or different opinions, but i hate blind/false claims because it's no-more on your fave console. I laugh at them
  8. Disaster: Day of Crisis

Im liking the look of this game. A lot better than the tiny screenshot that was printed in Famitsu a looooong time ago. I agree some screens it looks absolutely lovely, while in others they're a bit crap. However, I have faith in Monolith and Nintendo that they'll fix it before release. I mean, they've still got plenty of time... There isn't even a release date for it. Hopefully the trees are temporary, cus they look like straight out an N64 game, haha. Character models, weather effects and some of the buildings really look lovely.
  9. Nintendos Conference MASSIVE NEWS INSIDE!

WOW!!!!!!!! I wake up and I get surprised by such great news! WiiWare starts to shape up. The announced titles so far sounded so... meh. Finally some interesting games coming from big developers! Motorcycles is Mario KART? Hm, i'll reserve judgement for it. Sonic in Brawl is awesome. Love it! Online co-op? Perhaps the adventure mode? MH3 for Wii is HUGE. Its predecessors have done amazing sales in Japan. Having it coming to Wii is great news and should be a 500K seller at minimum, if not a million seller. I wonder if it's still coming to PS3, it's been suggested though. The best news for me personally is Fire Emblem DS. I'm replaying the first FE on GBA and I was just wondering yesterday when there'll be a DS version. So here it is! Happy time!
  10. Timesplitters 4 announced!

Awesome news (if true)! I've been on the Free Radical site, but i didnt see any mention of it coming to Wii, just next-gen consoles. Even IGN doesnt mention it's heading to Wii, though i do expect it will come, but still. I doubt it's official yet. This is highly exciting though! Can't wait for it. Finally a great FPS on Wii!
  11. Party Games?

Hm, funny. My mate just asked me the very same thing the other day. Someone is throwing a party and asked him to bring his Wii along. He only has two controllers, but he didnt find it necessary to borrow mine. So yeah, party games eh? I said, well MP8 is pretty fun in 4P, any MP game is fun in a party. Unfortunately for him, I dont have that game. So i lent him WarioWare (excellent party game if the newcomers can get past the initial WTF moments; also needs to be unlocked to be properly playable). Other games I gave him were Mario Strikers and Red Steel, those were the only 4P games I had at the moment. MS is great if everyone plays it for the first time. I remember my first play time with it, it was with 3 other friends. Hilarious it was! Not so much fun if there's an expert player in the team though... Havent tried RS in 4P deathmatch yet, but it has a bit of a learning curve to begin with, so that isnt so suitable. WiiSports is one of the better party games, but i believe you asked for other options. I gave my friend my four Cube controllers along with some great multiplayer games, I think at the moment that's one of the best alternatives: My recommendations: - PacMan VS: one of the best party games available, ever. Needs GBA/GBASP though. - SSBM: always hilarious - MK DD: it's Mario Kart, cant go wrong - TimeSplitters 2: for FPS gamers only - Beach Spikers: a rare game that's highly amusing with 2 or more players - any Mario Party game - Wario Ware: maybe even better than the MP in Smooth Moves As for Wii games, i think we'll have to wait a bit longer. I think Ghost Squad is gonna be a fun multiplayer title, both for gamers and non-gamers alike. Heck, having 4P shooting with a dolphin water gun at weird bikini girls cant go wrong.
  12. it's a shame we wont get Brawl this year, but that also brings the opportunity to have third party titles shine. Apart from Nintendo's titles (MP3, Galaxy, Endless Ocean), im really looking forward to RE:UC, MOHH2, Ghost Squad and Zack&Wiki. I doubt those titles will have done well if Brawl got a release as well. I think Galaxy will do very well this holiday and helping sell a lot of Wii. The demand for the system has remained unbelievable high throughout the year and that was without a lot of big software titles (MP8 was the biggest release I think). With some killer titles coming up, i dont see why demand won't multiply.
  13. Rumor Control - IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat

Tbh, i dont really care about voicechat. I dont wanna smack talk with people i donno. Especially if it means i'll have to endure lots of swearing and stuff. I just wanna enjoy the game. I do see opportunities in certain games though, but not every game is a suitable for that kind of communication. Eventually, it's a feature i think should be available, but i'd rather have them focus on the issues that matter, like lag, match-makings, dropouts etc.
  14. resident evil remakes on wii

I voted for RE2. For several reasons actually. a) we've already had our REmake and RE:DS, so that storyline has been milked to death. b) I'd love to see Leon and Ada back again c) I never played RE2, but that goes for RE3 and CV as well. I do think we'll see another RE game on Wii. RE4 did far better than everyone expected for what it was. But that game was truly awesome, the controls fit very well. RE:UC will do well, but maybe not awesome, because it's a spin-off of sorts. I don't see Capcom doing a dumbed down RE5 on Wii, so it's either a side-story like CV (though it was supposed to be a proper sequel after RE2) or another remake. Doing a remake will cut down a lot of dev time, as the basic story is in place. They can even use/update the RE4 models of some characters. What all pre-RE4 games differ is the level design. It's much more cramped to fit the fixed camera angles, while RE4 has a much open world. The controls benefit from that. I don't see a Village-like opening for the previous games in a remake. That is... unless they take the basic storyline and settings, but redo the complete levels.
  15. Little King's Story

King Story, this game is looking VERY promising. It's got a very charming style, it's unique and has the Nintendo quirkiness to it and it's not even developed by them! I like how it's a mix of Pikmin, Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. Every villager looks different and apparently has its own schedule. Very ambitious title. Definitely should keep an eye on it!
  16. No More Heroes

my interest in NMH has subsided a bit prior to TGS. The screenshots released thus far looked a bit bland. After all the media and hands-on impressions, im super-hyped for this game again. Now i remember what piqued my interest again. Its style was never doubted, but its great to see that the gameplay seem to be shaping up very nicely. If they can add in enough variation and some silly side-quests/mini-games, this game will be awesome. Btw, does anyone has the NMH theme song? I've been trying to find it. An mp3 would be awseome
  17. Ghost Squad Wii

Easily one of my most-anticipated game of the year. Though that goes along with RE:UC, Galaxy, MP3 and MOHH2... I like how they've expanded on the arcade game. This is no simple port, it's an über port Graphics are very Cube like, but for this game, im totally fine on. It just seems so much fun.
  18. Winning Eleven Wii

I have a feeling this title will not be what everyone's thinking. Im thinking about some point and click mechanism, seeing as there are so many indicators on screen. You move with nunchuk's control stick. To pass in a certain direction, you point at the screen, press A and it will pass that way. B will shoot and Z and C will be used for long passes etc. The through will have to be done manually through the new mechanism. Let's hope whatever they do, it's worthy of the name Winning Eleven.
  19. Capcom Shares Climb

Let's hope other key Capcom titles (Zack&Wiki, RE:UC and We love golf) performs above expectations like RE4 did. Hopefully this will lead to better Capcom and other key 3rd party support. Good for Capcom though
  20. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

RE:UC is shaping up quite nicely. Though i'm all into the light-gun style gameplay, i still think it's a bit of a wasted opportunity for not making an RE4 style game. If this game sells tremendous, Capcom might consider another RE title, but if they put the same effort in it like they did with RE4, it'll be another 2 years AT LEAST, till we see the release. Anyway, Im getting this game no matter what reviews. I think it'll score rather averagely, like in the 7/10s. I hope they add enough other modes to play in, like how RE4 had The Mercenaries mini-game. It's very well suited to this game. Only a few months left till release. Here's hoping to a finely tuned game!
  21. Factor 5 on the Wii?

Indeed, it IS funny how Factor 5 got their attitude/opinion changed about Wii. Maybe it's the sales figures, maybe it's the 'failure' of Lair, maybe it's the limited motion sensing capabilities of PS3, i donno. Factor 5 has always been a respected developer, the managed to churn out amazing graphics out of the consoles. Roque Squadron 2 is still one of the best looking titles to date on Cube and that was a launch title. They do have their hands on two more PS3 titles if I'm not mistaken (they signed a three-game deal with Sony), but that doesnt mean they've abandoned the Nintendo ship. I'd love to see what they can do on Wii. Just don't make it another Star Wars title. After so many titles on N64 and Cube, I think they should move on for now.
  22. Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Now this is what im talking about. Proper third party support. Original, great looking and some old-school type gameplay mixed in between. Lovely!
  23. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Talking about the rewards, there's no infinite ammo 'cheat' or anything unlocked huh? Resi 4 is a game that would be lovely to have infinite ammo / all weapons to fool around. Kinda like how GoldenEye was. Messing around with the enemies was great fun
  24. Little King's Story

This game looks awesome. I see elements of Pikmin, Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing in there. Adding a bit of Rune Factory and it'll an awesome game. Speaking of Pikmin, I want to see a sequel to Pikmin2!
  25. Next month's ONM: Red Steel 2?

I enjoyed Red Steel as well, despite it's shortcomings. I have high hopes for its sequel. The first one was rushed with some weird bugs. Graphically, the game got better the further you got in the game. If they can maintain the quality of the second half of the game, I'm happy. Things I want to be different are the swordfights. I want to be able to use that whenever i want. How about make it a bit more stealthy. The other thing that bothered me were the abundance of save points. It made the game way too easy and not thrilling enough. I remember those days in GoldenEye that had me pumped when I reached the last part of the level with very little health left. Once you've made it, there was such a great level op accomplishment. Oh and leave the health regeneration out while at it.
