  1. Paper Mario Thread.

I just downloaded PM yesterday. Enjoying it immensely! I always wanted to play it back in the 64 days, but those games were just way too expensive at the end of the life cycle. Glad I can enjoy this lost gem. I still have PM: the thousand year door on Cube to play. So i'll start on that after I finish the original. So far, I just finished Chapter 1, so you guys are way ahead of me :P
  2. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

Im glad both RE:UC and Ghost Squad are supporting the Wii Zapper. I've always enjoyed lightgun games. Sure, it may not have the longevity of a 'regular' game, but it does have lots of replayability, especially if there's multiplayer support and hi-scores to beat. I can see myself buying both of them. RE:UC seem to have many little subtleties to it, being able look around you to find new ammo and health. Should be interesting.
  3. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Just gonna pop in a quick comment. Having seen more detailed hands-on videos of MP3 around the net, this game just shot up immensely on my most wanted list. I knew I would get it on day of release, but now i want it so badly! Time for me to start on MP2 to get myself ready
  4. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

It sold well so far. but 300K is a bit optimistic for one week in the US :P According to vgchartz is around 160K in 3 weeks. I know, i may not be the most accurate one, but still a good indication. In Japan it has sold around 85K, so that makes 245K sold already. I dont know about other Europe, but im experiencing some "sold out" cases online for that game. Its either wait or pay more at a regular store. Still, if Capcom expects RE4 to exceed its original shipment, that definitely is a good sign. Now come and bring us some real games Capcom!
  5. No Smash for us this year. How sad. The US is getting all of those big 3, along with BWII, FE and stuff. Isnt that even more crowded than our schedule?
  6. Endless Ocean

I got my eyes on this title. Trailer looks good. So.. peaceful. So stressless. Perfect game for me to go explore, play with the animals :P And yes, Endless ocean is a horrible name. Forever Blue is a perfect title.
  7. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Cant wait for this game! Is it really coming this year? Cus on the N-E site, it doesnt list this game in the European release list. It IS mentioned in the US one though.
  8. Soul Calibur Legends

Just saw the trailer. I had to burst out laughing seeing how the sword... became the wiimote! Kinda cheesy for an official trailer. Anyway, game looks good. From what I could see it was just about the same as SC2. The screens looked sharper though. I wonder how good the controls work. That really is a make or break element. Oh and the lead characters... none of them are my faves actually. I used to play a Kilik, Talim or Seong Mina. None of them use swords :P Co-op is good news. Hopefully framerate keeps it up and won't sacrifice the details. I still have high hopes for it!
  9. The E3 2007 Anticipation Thread

So E3 is upon us very soon. Im not sure there will be a 'winner' at all. It's no more huge lines waiting, big booths and all. Still, if you talk about 'megatons', I bet Sony will fight back this year. Big time. Last year they totally blew it. They had a bad and boring conference (as always) and Nintendo took the show. Sony will have to do something in order to get the media back on their side. I'm expecting lots and lots of games (Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, MGS 4, Home, LittleBigPlanet) and some new game announcements. Nintendo, on the other hand, isnt in the underdog position. They're the one to beat. I fear they'll sit on their lazy asses, and do a "Pac-Man VS" on us, if you know what I mean. That said, they do have to show us 'hardcore' gamers they Wii is for everyone. So I'm expecting MP3 to be the main game, being demo'ed extensively, showing us Galaxy briefly, Wii-DS connectivity either through a new Channel or a new game. Smash won't be there, but hopefully a new trailer will be shown. Apart from that at least one new non-gamer title. Wii Health? Other than that, I'm not expecting much. Microsoft has a lot of games to show, but I'm not expecting many surprises. Halo 3 will be their main focus. They'll convince us to get GTA4 on 360 rather than on PS3. At best, they will have a new exclusivity announcement. RE5 or Assasin's Creed a timed-exclusive? Overall, I think Sony will get a lot of praise for showing a surprising line-up. Both Nintendo and Microsoft will have an enjoyable conference, but nothing earth-shattering to be expected.
  10. Stars Cat Update!

Yeah, it's so annoying. They've been saying the Wii Points are coming soon ever since the beginning of this year. That's a freaking 6 months! I doubt we'll get it this year. And IF we did, they probably just add 200 Wii Points card which are long gone when you notice them... Oh and by then, all my Stars have become invalid...
  11. Hm, i think you're in the minority if you dont like Wii Sports. Though I can see where you're coming from. There's just so much hype around that game and even to this day there's people buying it just to play Wii Sports. It did set the expectations high. That said, the game fully met my expectations. I knew there were some quirks in there (Baseball and Boxing comes to mind), but still very enjoyable. As a single player game, it wears off pretty quickly. I played it for 3 weeks and never touched it again. But then came the multiplayer session: wow! Gather together your friends, family, gamers and all have a great time. Especially Tennis and Bowling. It really a social party game. But anyway, back to your question. Should you buy a Wii now? I'd wait and see if you didn't like what you see and played thus far. it's true that it lacks a true AAA killer app. Both Zelda and RE4 are awesome games, but no necessarily unique, since it's on GC too. There are many good and enjoyable games out there. Personally, I enjoyed ExciteTruck, Kororinpa, Dragon Ball Z, Red Steel and Mario Strikers a lot. So yeah, I'd say wait till the end of the year and see what games are on offer. We should start seeing more games that are no more ports with added Wii controls anymore (not necessarily a bad thing), and more build-from-the-ground-up games. Of course, SSBB, Metroid and Mario got everyone's attention.
  12. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

I recently went back to Path of Radiance which I started, but never finished. Seriously, that game sucks you into it. I really loved the story and wished there was more to it, since there were so many story developments and characters that never got into the main game. So I was happy to hear that Goddess of Dawn is a direct sequel to it. I believe it's devided in 4 main story sequences, each consisting of 10+ chapters. Kinda like how FE7 was on the GBA. All characters make a comeback in the Greil Mercenaries part, while new characters are added in the other parts. It's true that you can use the PoR save game in Goddess of Dawn, which is a nice bonus feature. It's also because of this that a second upgrade is made possible. Maxed out characters wouldn't grow anymore, which takes away the FE gameplay. I cant wait to get my hands on it, but im afraid we wont see it till Spring 08 at the earliest, if at all...
  13. IGN: Buy Zack & Wiki Campaign

Im interested in this game. Sure, I'd love to see other Capcom games too. But as an original game that apparently is very clever as well and makes very good use of the Wii interface, I just HAVE to try it. If Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center proves that weird games are surprisingly enjoyable.
  14. Rayman and red steel sales!

Haha, lol :P I haven't been that happy with Ubisoft as I think I would. I got both RRR and Red Steel. Both games sold so well because the timing and PR was done right. Nintendo fans crave exclusively made titles. We buy them en mass if they're quality titles, or when we believe they do. Red Steel, though a very enjoyable title, was rushed. RRR is an excellent party-game, but kinda shallow on your own actually. Still, two very good efforts. Then came the lazy ports and uninteresting titles: Splinter Cell, Far Cry (what were they thinking???), Monster Truck (ouch!), GT (decent Cube title, still zero effort), Open Season and Prince of Persia (Great, but not for full-price). I think we all want to see proper titles. RRR2 and My Coach are interesting and fine, but i think we all want to more titles with more 'meat', dont we? A Brothers in Arms title is scheduled for release later this year, don't go waste the opportunity Ubi!
  15. Kwiiler 7?

It's most likely a mistake, especially if you consider RE4 Wii edition and RE:UC isnt even listed in the Wii games list. That said, I certainly wouldnt mind a Wiimake/port of this game. I'm yet to get my hands on this title, it's so hard to find, plus I think the game is perfectly suited to the Wii. As for the game being potentially another port.. yes we all hate it, but as with RE4, the game deserves another chance. Killer 7 is a very unique title, it's creative, original and just off-beat. You don't see that kind of title very often nowadays. Do the controls suck? Perhaps, but I'm willing to give it a try. Hey, Red Steel's controls weren't as bad as they said, so why wouldn't this title be any different? still, I think it's a mistake, haha.
  16. Wow, EA is going all out Gotta admit, EA is quickly becoming one of the better third party publishers on Wii. Take note Ubi
  17. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

I'm kinda hyped for this game. I've played the original on GC to death, but it's still on my must-have list. This game is just so much fun. Plus, I wanna play the Ada missions. Good to hear the controls work well, though I find it to be suitable in the first place. Hopefully this sells good enough to warrant another RE after RE:UC. RE5 or not, I just want another RE4-style game with the same production value.
  18. Wii Press Event: 22nd-23rd May

I'll just wait for the news to come in. No matter it's true or false. I'd like it to be true, but then again, it's pretty much a given the things he said. And indeed, SSBB was supposed to be online from the beginning. Man, I'm hunger for some SSBB action so much now. I might fire up SSBM today :P
  19. Ubisoft making Wii online game?

Sounds pretty good. I certainly won't mind Red Steel 2, as the original was a very enjoyable game, albeit with some launch title issues. If they spend more time ironing out the bugs, improve the cutscenes and controls (which were fine to start with IMO), it'll be a great game. If it's a different title, it's fine as well. Anything with a high production value is what the Wii needs more of.
  20. DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3

I'm enjoying BT2 very much at the moment. It's my very first DBZ game on the consoles, but i can't imagine what else they can add to the game besides an online component. I mean, they've got virtually every meaningful character in there, the story mode covers everything from DBZ to DBZ GT. I just dont see myself buying a sequel to it if it's basically the same game. For those of us who have yet to get BT2, they might wanna wait for this one though.
  21. Namco Favours Wii over 360 and PS3

To be honest, I was kinda surprised by the huge amount of Wii titles Namco-Bandai got planned in their new fiscal year. I mean, when was the last time a Nintendo platform got so much support from a third party developer/publisher? But then again, seeing how well the Wii is selling in comparison to the 360/PS3, combined with the lower dev costs, it's really a no-brainer. We should not forget this also includes the Bandai games, that means it also includes the Tamagotchi's, most of the anime titles. I'm fine with that as half of those titles are probably not worth mentioning anyway. As long as a few high-profile quality titles show up, Im fine with that. The new Soul Calibur spin-off and the new Gundam game seems very interesting and hopefully a sign of even better things to come.
  22. Classic controller hate

Hm, I donno about others, but I like my Classic Controller. It's perfect for SNES games, that's what i mainly used it for. Though, it's also the ONLY workable option for us, because of the button mapping for the Cube controller. For NES, TG16 and MD is actually use the Wiimote. Im fine with that. Haven't downloaded a N64 game yet, I wonder how it will feel. Truth be told, the Classic Controller is a mash of 20 years of gaming. To accomodate all those different controllers into one needed compromises to start with. And quite frankly, it didnt had to give a whole lot in to make it a worthy purchase.
  23. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Yay for RE4 Wii coming fairly soon. Hopefully the price will be right. If it's 30 euros, i'll buy it right away. But my guess is it'll be 40-45 euro... The money grabbers! As for sales of RE4. I think the game highly underperformed. For its quality and acclaim, selling around the million mark worldwide for each version isn't a whole lot. Somewhere around the 4 or 5 million combined would have done the game justice. So basically RE4 Wii is Capcom's way of quickly getting a product out without putting too many resources behind it, as well as testing the waters. That aside, Capcom just wants to give this game another chance. And rightly so.
  24. Obscure II coming to Wii

It sounds fairly interesting. Those screens, though probably from the PC version, don't look too shabby. The guy in the 3rd screen look like Billy from RE0, haha. I'd say bring it on. The more the merrier. With a bit of luck, it'll turn out to be an enjoyable game.
  25. Zack & Wiki

I wasnt that interested in the title when it was announced. But having read the hands-on and having seen the gameplay videos, i'm highly interested in it now. It's intriguing to figure out how to use the wiimote to solve the puzzles. Sounds great!
