this years NME tour was great, next years isnt looking so good. imo The Automatic are better than all 4 of last years bands were at that time, but im none too fussed about the other 3

£700 for a 42-inch HDTV? wow! Only problem i can see there is that Rear-Projection TVs are rather susceptible to 'screen-burn'. If you leave it displaying a still image for a long period of time the image will burn into the screen, theres a chance of this happening with any TV but Rear-Projection increases the risk dramatically. If your carefull with it then you've got yourself a bargain, just be carefull not to leave games on pause for long periods of time (like while you go to eat dinner)

Yes, but that person was wrong. The ability to animate a tardis flying across the sky is hardly new technology. Hell, the origional Star Wars trilogy managed more advanced stuff than that! Hardly a test for late 80's technology... And if it was because of budget constraints then they could have implied that it flew. The tardis picking up a seemingly new ablilty after 43 years is dumb (unless the episode explains why the TARDIS can now fly)

That clip was dumb, why catherine tate? her jokes got old years ago! Like Little Britain i fail to see the funny side of her show any more The Tardis flying is daft, it doesnt! If it could then the Doctor would have used it a lot more, go through old episodes and you'll find loads where a flying tardis would have been usefull

you might have tried this already but i usually reactivate my wireless card by going to Control Panel and clicking on Network Connections. Then just right click on Wirless Network Connection and select Enable.

Begining to realise that you over-reacted yet? HMV will issue all of the relevant press statements + send out order confirmations when theyre good and ready (not all have gone out yet, so i wouldnt worry). I dont really get the preorder concept tbh. Most places will be over-sold so the first batch of Wii units will all go on preorders. This means that anywhere that took preorders isnt doing to see a Wii on the shop floor unti at least the 2nd batch, possibly even after xmas

Saw Muse live a few months ago, brilliant! Only way i'll go and see them again though is if theyre next album is better or they tour Origin of Symmetry Megadeth are great! Have the way people judge them on theyre name, they aint that heavy...

Was going to point that out too. I'd assume its based on when retailers hand over their figures. Im supprised the info is available for PS3 tbh, kept looking around for a note saying 'The figures for Playstation 3 are shipped only'

The only difficulty Sony will have is in actually managing to manufacture enough units to meet demand. It took them a year to produce 400,000... Im actually thinking the 360 will continue to dominate, its a nice piece of kit and affordable to boot! The software selection is looking to be the best too with strong exclusives, tons of PC ports and great 3rd party support (not to mention that most multiformat games play best on 360) The Wii is on a knife edge, it all depends on how the multiformat titles turn out. If they're good with the Wiimote then the console with sell really well, if theyre not so good then the console will flop

I cant see how TP could deserve to be 2nd. Its just a well polished sequel! Every other game in the top 10 is either origional or revolutionary, how is TP any of those things? To me its more akin to TeS: Oblivion, a very well polished game of substantial size that ticks all the right boxes but is ultimately just the previous games with a new story and some new features tacked on.

This was exactly my point, the second hype dies down it becomes aceptable to critisize a games bad points. Wind Waker was good, but if the press were to re-review it now they would mark it down on all the back-tracking and for the low number of dungeons. Twilight Princess may turn out near perfect, but we wont know until we play it. Why? Because reviewers cant give they're opinion without being flamed

It got a 94.7% press average, with a lot of 10/10s. I remember a topic on here like the TP Gamespot one but for Edge and the 90% they gave Wind Waker lol According to average review scores WW is the 2nd best Zelda game and better than Super Mario World, Halo 2, Half-Life, Perfect Dark, Knights Of The Old Republic, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Metal Gear Solid! Everyone thats played it knows it wasnt as good as that, i'd rather not see the same thing with TP. A bit of honest reviewing in the first place would be nice imo (it worries me when one review critisises an aspect of a game that another doesnt mention)

Dont know how many people would agree with me here but surely a 10/10 score is for a game that fulfills its own potential. Like Nintendork said, 10/10 games are Tetris, Pacman, Myst, The Sims, Ocarina of Time. These games were all as good as they could be, Twilight Princess on the other hand could be improved upon. Anyone else remember the uproar on these forums about scores that Wind Waker got? Who looks more stupid now, the reviewers who gave the game 100% or the ones who were honest, giving the game scores around 90%?

I think Gamespot's Zelda review is spot on. The Zelda series has found its comfort zone and is sitting there, refusing to move. The games are still good, but theres been very little in the way of progression since OOT. They may be marking down a lot of Wii games, but they justify it with decent explanations about things that the reviewers who give 8+9/10s seem to miss. All-in-all they seem to be of the opinion that most of the launch games are tech demos for the Wiimote How can a game with a flaw score 10/10?

You'd be supprised how many people will desert a nation they think is dead, especially if they think nobody will know. If Sweden did fall then the majority of these comandos would just go off and make a new home for themselves. Good point about the Gripen though, its a VERY good aircraft. Cheap, versitile and easy to build.

Why not get a Plasma? They're still a bit better than LCD in terms of picture quality

There seems to be a thread on this every week... Nintendo havent confirmed stock allocation yet but they will do so soon. The only company that might know is GAME, and thats only because they control 60% of the market. It is much more likely though that GAME are unsing a drastic underestimate to confirm preorders. If you dont get a successful preorder theres still Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda/countless other retailers that dont do preorders. As for the whole beating on HMV thing, they're prices aint that bad. Some cheap stuff in there at the moment (a lot of decent albums from years ago are only £5-£8). Charging £17 for old albums was a bit off but not really that suprising. They held a monopoly on anything that couldnt be bought in a supermarket. The only reason they're so cheap now is because the 'net was stealing a lot of their business

Ah, didnt see that post. Good point there with the whole lifting up the mouse thing! I think c0Zm1c is wright though, would be better to have buttons to turn 90 and 180 degrees than a bounding box.
