  1. Everyone knew what was going to happen, unless they were planning a bait-and-switch. They've signposted Glenn's death all season, he's been staring vacantly at baseball bats, finding weird shrines to Lucille's previous victims, everyone had come to terms with it, why the fuck didn't they deliver the literal finishing blow?

There's cliffhangers and then there's this shit. The fact that they allegedly haven't even chosen/filmed who's going to die makes an already ruined iconic moment even worse.

I'm past caring about this now, it's going to be spoiled in advance of the premiere of season 7 in October anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if Gimple is ousted as showrunner at some point this summer. Anyway, someone slowed down all the off-screen screaming at the end, signs point to Glenn but it's probably bullshit since none of them know what happened.

  2. When they did Spiky Eared Pichu, I was certain it was going to the point where a Pokémon would take aesthetic changes from the father when breeding, so the Spiky-Eared Pichu would have like a Buneary father or something. I even prepped a system that showed possible Egg Moves for each possibility.

Shame that never came to be.

I remember you speculating about genetic variations at the time actually, it would have been an interesting addition to the series and help make non-legendary/shiny Pokémon more unique and worthwhile catching. I still think it'd make an interesting addition now... I suppose it's possible, how many variations are possible for Vivillion and Spinda?

  3. Caught my first ever wild Shiny Pokémon last night in Pokémon Y, a shiny Geodude in a horde on Victory Road. A couple of them started using Magnitude (and had Sturdy abilities) so I was terrified of them killing my prize before I could claim it. Luckily managed to pick off the offenders in time and caught it!

Crazy how I've been playing these games for about 16 years and I've only just found one in the wild!

  4. Wave 3 of the Animal Crossing cards hits next month.

Has anyone been able to keep up with these? I got the album for wave 1 and a couple of packs, but they're a little expensive in-store for random cards, and I can't justify getting them from the Nintendo Store as I haven't found myself feeling that desperate to collect them!

So I totally forgot about Bayonetta, and I'm really looking forward to it now. The Amiibo is going to look absolutely bitchin'.

Interesting that she was the #1 choice in Europe and top 5 in the US! No mention of Japan's choices though, I guess they probably went for Geno or other "unattainable" characters (can't remember the choice of phrase Sakurai used in clear reference to everyone spamming Goku).

As far as promoting their own games go with Corrin, I can't help but think the development time might have been put to better use making an Inkling fighter rather than a sixth Fire Emblem representative, but hey ho.

  6. If I had silly money to make silly bets, the silly money would be on Vaati for a new fighter.

I'd be really surprised if Shovel Knight didn't show up in some form. Either as a new challenger or even just a Mii outfit seems likely.

I'm not sure it's had the cultural impact of some of the other contenders enough to be a new fighter, but a costume, assist or just a trophy seems likely. Maybe you can unlock it for free using the Amiibo...

  7. Doomsday's whole schtick is that he dies and comes back reformed. He needs to start as a throwaway, so he can turn into this...

The comic Doomsday was an ancient Kryptonian terror though, this one seems to be little more than FrankenZod. It'd be great if they did go down that path, don't get me wrong, I'm honestly not sure that he won't just be a one-trick pony quickly dispatched by the proto-Justice League at the end of this film.

  8. Masterfully crafted episode, this series is really, really delivering. The plot reminded me of Moon and Groundhog Day, except infinitely (almost literally) more heartbreaking. The look on the Doctor's face when the penny dropped and he realised what 'BIRD' meant for him and what he had been doing/had to keep on doing was so sad. But he never gave up, the magnificent bastard.

Two billion years of punching diamond? That is most certainly one hell of a bird.

    Boring as fuck.

How did The Doctor get into that borefest of last week?

    Repeating for emphasis?

  9. I know it's inevitable, but Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman coming together to fight Doomsday sort of spoils the entire premise of the movie, and seems to literally show us the end of their conflict.

I'm liking the look of it more as time goes on, but I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic since I felt the same way about Man of Steel...
