  1. I agree. Compared to other great RPGs, the audio is really dissappointing. In series like Pokemon, Chrono Trigger and Mother/Earthbound there are lots of different songs in different areas, but in DQ it's just the same in every town, castle etc. The music isn't bad, but after a while it's annoying to hear the same few songs everywhere you go. At least the grotto and ocean themes are awesome.
  2. How do you manage to keep playing DQIX for so long? I do check the DQVC almost every day and clear a couple of grottos sometimes, but it's really not that entertaining anymore. To make everything "worse" i bought Chrono Trigger DS which has completely stolen my attention :P
  3. I got the Rusty Sword from an early quest(i dont remember which) and the Rusty Shield from the Rock On! quest
  4. Amazing! How many grottos have you cleared to come this far?
  5. I didn't know that :P Thanks, will do
  6. Finally i'm done with making the Erdricks Shield! And it sure does boost the defence of my hero(minstrel, turns out gladiators can't equip shields, lol).
  7. Well, you don't really have an excuse not to, at least with the rusty gear(as they suck) :P I made a Great Helm out of the Hades Helm and pretty satisfied. It fits perfectly for my Gladiator and i think Erdrick's gear will do too
  8. I decided i wanna try to make an Erdricks Shield using alchemy. These are the ingredients i need and how to get em: Erdrick's shield = Rusty shield x 1 + Glass frit x 9 + Orichalcum x 1 Rusty shield = Agate of evolution x 1 + resurock x 1 + enchanted stone x 1(Quest #049) Agate of evolution = Sainted soma x 2 + Ethereal stone x 2 + Chronocrystal x 1 Is it really worth using a Chronocrystal and an Orichalcum for this shield or are there better things i can do with em?
  9. Are the old DQ games on Virtual Console? Cus i aint got no retro consoles :/
  10. I was going to the city today, so i thought i might as well try out the tag mode. However, as i expected, i didn't meet a single fellow adventurer.
  11. True dat. Just visited the Tower of Nod. The top boss is sleeping and it looks like i have to download some DLC to get the quest that awakens him... Is it out yet?
  12. Would be cool. It's a shame they didn't make more non-DLC stuff post-game, i'm getting bored here with my stupid WPA router and not functioning Wi-Fi connector :/
  13. Thanks. Looks like i already visited the good places. Didn't even notice the amount of slimes lol. But what's with that Santa's house up NE? Is there anyway i can get him, or whoever lives there, back home?
  14. So yesterday i got the Sterling's Whistle. However, i cant find any exiting places to go. I have heard rumours of a "Slime Hill", anyone know where that is located?`
  15. I recommend talking to the thief Buster in Dourbridge pub, as he has a couple of quests with great rewards. This only works if you have a thief in the party, though.
  16. If you want to earn some quick cash, go to the dry swamp thing in the Djust Dessert. There should be some Gold Golems who drop 505 gold coins each.
  17. Thanks for the answers ^^ I didn't get to read your posts before i actually beat Hootingham-Gore, but I basically just did what you guys wrote lol. I grinded Liquid Metal Slimes in The Bowhole till my levels were around 35. Right now I'm stuck with the final boss, but i reckon I should be fine if I battle some more liquid metal slimes.
  18. Hey gais. I get my ass kicked by that Leutenant Hootingham-Gore at the entrance of Gittingham Pallace. My party: Minstrel lv. 32, Thief lv. 32, Priest lv. 30, Martial Artist lv. 31. Everytime i'm kind of getting him, he beats me. He seems to get faster and his magic often goes haywire. I don't know what i'm doing wrong. How do i beat him?
