  1. Stupidly strong numbers. Hopefully they can keep the momentum up.

My concern, which I raised in the thread the other day, is the lack of Switch consoles in stock at the moment. They really need to get their fingers out and sort out the situation. The sales could have been a hell of a lot higher if stock was there. I'm hoping, with the arrival of Mario Kart, that stock arrives tomorrow at various outlets.

    They're doing their best.

Remember, their original plan was just for 2 million Switch to hit the market by the end of March and they wrecked that plan and obviously have ramped up production.

They underestimated demand (which makes sense after the Wii U). They're working hard to meet demand

  2. As of March 31st 2017:

2.74 million Switch units shipped. Massively up on Nintendo's plan of 2 million and analyst's predictions of 2.3 million.

Forecast of 10 million this fiscal year for a total of 12.74 million this time next year

Zelda shipped 2.76 million units on Switch (1.08 on Wii U. 3.84 total)

  3. Is this game expected to be much different from the Wii U original?

I am tempted to get it but trying to justify the double dip :P

Is the app for voice chat thing going to be released on Friday also...or does that only come out when they start charging?

(I been lost in Hyrule last two months, I know nothing of what happened in the outside world since)

It's the same game as before but with substantial upgrades to Battle Mode: 8 stages, 5 modes etc.

It also has multiple new characters and vehicle parts, so Dry Bones, Inklings, Bowser Jr. and King Boo.

If Battle Mode is your thing, then get this without hesitation.

  4. The Switch is the full evolution and realisation of the Wii U concept.

My comment was regarding Off-TV Play and those who said it was useless because they had their own TV which is true in some cases, but people seem to disregard how families are. They focus on the idyllic idea of everyone having their own tv when that's not necessarily a reality

  5. Arlo posted a good video about this kind of thing the other day.

It doesn't effect me as much as I don't have to fight for the TV, and I prefer to play in long sessions, but his point is a valid one for those who don't play like that or don't have the luxury of being able to sit in front of a TV for long periods of time. For gamers with a more busy life style ( work away, travel a lot, have kids etc ) the Switch is a godsend.

This is something the Wii U had to an extent and people were so dismissive because they didn't have to fight for a TV the whole off-tv play thing is pointless.

    I personally think it's amazing.

Arlo did a good video here, but I'm always swayed by muppets so bias :p

  6. I don't think the Switch releases should be envied at all, I think it's a very disappointing and slow console so far. 1-2 Switch aside, does it have a /single/ exclusive until Splatoon or Arms? It just feels like it's getting WiiU games and a handful of indie titles from a large selection also available on PS4 and Steam.

I'm hoping I can be proved wrong in the next few months. I guess ARMS and Splatoon will change that, I just wish those titles appealed to me more. I've said this every year for the past 3 years so I probably just need to stop but Nintendo really need to pull out all the stops to get me on board at this e3.

Then again, what do I know? While I'm unimpressed it seems to still be sold out everywhere and doing well so they must be doing something right this time.

    Snipperclips? Bomberman R?

  7. My weekend day tends to look like this

    8-9: Italian practice

    9-10: Showering, getting ready etc

    10-13: Work

    13-14: Lunch

    14-16: Work

    16-17: Shopping/chores/language practice etc

    17-19: Work

    19-21: Cook/eat

    21-22: Work

    22-24: Free time (sometimes)

    24: Sleep

We all can't make a living playing with kids toys ;)

    Aww someone's envious.

    :p

  8. Ah. It must be that time of year again when the forum turns on me, tells me how to play my games and decides I have rushed them all due how many finish in a set period of time.

I suppose I rushed Yooka Laylee as well? Maybe Persona 5? Kirby Team Clash Deluxe? Maybe, just maybe, gaming is my main hobby and I plough pretty much all my free time into it.

My girlfriend was a bit on at me for "rushing through it" too. It's how I play games. It's just as valid as taking forever on it.

I was done in a week, with over 70 hours logged. It's not like I rushed

  9. Unless her point is "Nintendo is mirroring the first year of the Wii U" that doesn't really clarify anything. Maybe that is her point though, but to me its an odd one to make.

It's not mirroring the first year of the Wii U. It actually has games coming out

  10. From what I read the online services arent even active for MK. I call bullshit.

Anyhoo, just finished reading the Eurogamer/Digital Foundry preview and its exactly why I hate tech based reviews. They almost make the game sound average.

Mate, there are videos around of online battles

  11. Amazing! There's so little interest in Hey! Pikmin that it doesn't even have a thread of it's own. Sad.

This is sadder though. A shame, because I thought that it could be fun. But alas, the guesses were right and Arzest is indeed developing it.

I still think that a 2D Pikmin game could be really good (hell, Kirby Mass Attack proves that!), but this won't be it sadly. I would make a thread, but I don't think it's worth it anymore...

Arzest were Artoon who were awesome.

They made one iffy game (which wasn't even a bad game, it was just not imaginative at all) and everyone is doom saying.

God, I hope Retro's next game doesn't suck

  12. You can be the biggest tease sometimes. There's me going to your site, surprised it came out so soon.

It hasn't. You and your stupid Japanese 3DS.

I wonder how Switch will handle future Mystery Gift distributions?

Same as 3DS. Just because the console is region free doesn't mean they'll change how distributions are done.

  13. I think it'll continue to sell well until after Splatoon launches so it'll be interesting to see how much of a dip in sales there is between August and November.

I truly believe there will be surprise releases within that period revealed at E3

  14. While the current line-up and what's on the horizon so far isn't for me at all, I can see how some people can be invested in the Switch and its games right now.

My only concern is that based on what we know, and a few rumblings I've heard, this year's Switch first party line-up has a considerable multiplayer focus until the end of the year. While Splatoon 2 will have a cool new campaign, it may not provide the single player experience many players crave.

  15. Good start :)

Hope they can keep a little momentum until E3 and then go all out with announcements. Could do wonders. : peace:

With Mario Kart, Minecraft and Street Fighter, I think it'll carry on til June, then ARMS is out E3 week with the E3 reveals.

I honestly haven't felt this busy for games in a year in years, though most won't be physical.

The intent to buy at the moment

    ARMS

    Splatoon 2

    Sonic Mania

    Yooka-Laylee

    Sonic Forces

    Super Mario Odyssey

Plus I'm fully expecting some reveals, especially Pokémon reveals, for later this year

Maybe Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but without mechs and sci-fi I'm less interested

  16. Great start for them. Zelda selling more than the console is hilarious. :D

Good to see you posting sales data again @Serebii. Will you continue to do so or stop if the machine starts to bomb, just like you done with the Wii U. :p

If it happens, I'll fall into my pit of depression again :P

I'll be ready with the data from the investor meeting

  17. Nintendo's back baby!

To compare and contrast, it's just 2k under the XBO and just over 100k under the PS4's first months, and they were in the holiday season.

It also did more than the entirety of the first 3 months of the Wii U's life in America.

It did over double what the 3DS did in its first month and around double what the DS and Wii did and those two were in Holiday too (though like the Switch the Wii was supply constrained)
