  1. Wow, the reviewers weren't kidding when they said this was short.

Lucky if I managed to get 7 hours out of this, another example of developers giving Wii owners the big time shaft.

Save your money people and rent instead.

*returns to Overlord 2 to get some sort of longevity*

UGH, you know this was going to be the first Wii game I bought since the fall of last year. Why must they keep taunting me

  2. I was talking to Dante, duh. I tought the tiers were about the easiest guy to play with, Snake is not easy, not even spamming, a lot of noobs lose with Snake by spamming and get owned.

That's not a tier list. A tier list is an ordered list of who you expect to win torunaments while also taking their potential into account. In other words, considering each character is played as perfectly as humanly possible, it's a list of best to worst.

In my opinion Bowser's a bit too high. Sure he fares much better than in melee, but he does not have that much advantages over a lot of the characters under him.

But yeah, expect it to change a few times, also it's not really revelant for our matches here.

  3. You've been talking about the DMZ but I believe the Wii takes no advantage of that because of the way the connection is made to Nintendo. Could you please explain? Did you read somewhere that it helps?

I can't put it in DMZ anyway because my router only supports 1 DMZ, and I need to have my desktop on it.

Of course it takes advantage. Your wii has data going out, does it not? If it tries to use a port that is blocked it will stall until it can find one that isn't (or until your router unblocks that port). Also it works from experience.

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessSlow.jsp -> This url has the most common problems but

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/results.jsp?error_code=86420&system=Wii&locale=en_US&action2.x=18&action2.y=29 -> it doesn't mention port forwarding for some reason. As you can see, an alternative to DMZ'ing your wii is unblocking all of the ports in udp protocol (which is a lot less feasible).

  4. I think tripping was a direct retaliation to the shitflinging-fest that is Smashboards. No game deserves such a following of elitist inbreds such as that. I'd probably cry myself to sleep if I knew something I created united that kind of circus.

It's like that for any competitive game that doesn't have an M rating.

  5. Don't let the "new save" stop you though, there's a really fast way to unlock all characters, stages and assist trophies (it doesn't affect your records either):

Set the music on the following stages so that only one song will play: Shadow Moses Island, Pokemon Stadium 2, Brinstar, Pictochat

Go to Special Brawl and select stamina mode

Set the CPU's stamina to 1

Pick either Donkey Kong or Kirby

Select an opponent that's not random

Win 5 matches on Shadow Moses Island and beat Ness

Win 5 more matches on Shadow Moses Island and beat Marth

Win 5 more matches on Shadow Moses Island and beat Snake

Win 5 matches on Pokemon Stadium 2 and then switch character to Kirby/Donkey Kong

Win 2 more matches on Pokemon Stadium 2 and beat Luigi

Win 3 more matches on Pokemon Stadium 2

    Win 10 matches on Brinstar

Win 5 matches on Pictochat and switch character to Luigi

Win 3 more matches on Pictochat and switch character to Fox

Win 7 more matches on Pictochat and beat Falco

See, we've already unlocked 5 characters and 5 stages. You're using fox because all you have to do is press B and you win the match. Much faster than running off the stage.

From here on keep using Fox to laser your way to new characters. If you're not comfortable with Fox and you go up against a new character, it's ok, you will meet them again after the next match so pick whoever you're most comfortable with.

When you unlock Captain Falcon win 10 matches with him to unlock Big Blue.

The remaining stages can be unlocked by beating the events 19, 25 and 28.

The only assist trophy that isn't unlocked is Barbara, which can be obtained easily with the CD factory.

Just note that this WILL NOT unlock the additional rules.

  6. I was wondering about something..does the PAL version of Brawl come with a firmware update?(I want to be able to use my freeloader in the future..) And are there any noteable differences between the PAL and NTSC versions? I'm considering getting the PAL version since Brawl is the game I play the most and I'm getting a little tired of freeloading it every time.

Nope, no update on the games yet.
