  1. I caved and order the MHGEN bundle from ebay. So I guess, I am virtually back in (haven't played MH since tri back on the wii!) My girlfriend ok'ed it but she has no idea the levels of addiction I can reach with this series....

Any tips as a soon to be n3ds xl owner? Ordered a case and charger already.

  3. So I'm missing a Calcified Fragment somewhere after Golgoroth's defeat in the raid for the Year 2 Moment of Triumph.

Thought I shall ask you guys if you are interesting to do a normal or hard King's Fall raid to collects the missing fragments before the Rise of Iron.

    Consider me up for it

  5. First I've really heard about Odin Sphere but it's getting some rave reviews. It's a remake right? I didn't have a PS2 so I missed a lot of games from that era.

It's a remake but a special one in that they fixed everything that was wrong with the original, and then even included the original version of you preferred it that way.

  6. Finished the first one of the storylines in Odin Sphere just now and it has been great fun so far. Game looks fantastic too. I played the original on PS2 but never finished it as my PS2 broke. Don't remember how the combat was different back then, but I really like it in this version.

I have played the previous Star Ocean games except number 2, although I never been particulary impressed by them. I have been thinking about getting SO5, but after having read the Gamespot review I think I'll wait and see how you and the others think of it.

Even though I pre-ordered my copy of Odin Sphere, amazon ran out of stock but have been reading reviews and watching vids, I can say the combat is a lot more interesting and more focused on combos than 'poking' enemies

then running away (still have my ps2 copy just to play on pc, though I couldn't stomach how repetitive the combat was unlike back then).

  7. Info from E3 taken from the reddit Subreddit:

    •The game is 60-70% done.

•The game is 30-40 hours long

•There will be sub-missions that you can do to level up and get good items.

•There WON'T be an easy mode.

•William is the only playable character in the game.

•William will not understand Japanese in the game, that'll lead to unique character interactions and fun situations

•There are bright areas in the game that have no enemies where you can interact with friendly NPCs.

•Sometimes you will come across Hot Springs that restores your health and give you various buffs when you bathe in it, but make sure no enemies are around because one hit would kill you when you're naked.

•If you use a certain weapon a lot, you will get rewarded for it.

    Info regarded the upcoming beta:

•There will be 3 stages and a tutorial, the first two stages are the ones we played in the alpha, the third one is called Nakatsu (In Kyushu), the area is very bright in appearance, and the boss of the stage is the succubus-looking Yokai we've seen in trailers, but they are unsure if they will include the boss in the beta or not.

•The tutorial level is called the dojo, designed to walk players through the game's mechanics, you can skip it if you want.

•There will be two new weapons, Dual Wielded Katanas, and a Rifle.

•You will still be able to get the Mark of the Conquerer in case you missed it in the Alpha.

    Changes from the Alpha:

•You can now strafe-run while locked on

•Lock on camera is now above the player a bit instead of behind him

    •More item shortcuts

    Cannot wait!

  8. Who says it wont have the action?

It's not the action, it's the style. At the moment, it looks like it will control like Demons/Dark souls (basic but meaningful contact) but with the viewpoint of The Last of Us. Nothing like Devil May Cry which is what the predecessors drew their combat inspiration from.

  9. IIRC this game is very much post-trilogy with galactic society recovered & taking the next step into the final frontier. Honestly I loved Mass Effect and thought I was done but every time I see it I feel the love pulling me back.

This so much. I even want them to include a multiplayer component like they had in ME3.

  10. While what I saw was impressive, I must say that I am a bit saddened that the action style I enjoyed from the previous games seems to have disappeared. Doesn't feel like a God of War game to me.

  11. Info on new features

•based on FINAL FANTASY XII INTERNATIONAL ZODIAC JOB SYSTEM

•Background, character model, fonts and all 2D parts are higher resolution

    •Movie scenes are higher resolution

    •Uses current-gen graphics tech

    •7.1 surround sound

    •higher quality audio

    •Japanese and English voice

•Option between original BGM and newly recorded BGM

    •shorter loading time

    •auto-save feature

    •turbo mode

    Source

Would of been 100% sold on 60fps. As it is you can get most of these features and more through emulation...

  12. How fucking cool is Plague Inc.?

Saw @Daft and @somme play this and since I never heard about it I looked it up. Seemed like a game for me so I bought it. After my first playthrough I can say: I love it.

My first desease (RAD-1) broke out in Brazil, figured it might a good place to start. Slowly but surely I've mutated the bacterium so it could survive in hot and humid areas.

It spread to several contries in Africa, Europe and Asia.

What I didn't think of: Cold countries :( Sweden, Norway, Canada and Greenland were not infected at all until the bacterium escaped the research facility in Sweden. It was too late, though...all the hosts died but 5% of the world's population was alive and healthy.

Next time I'll make sure to infect every climate :D

What the hell?! This sounds creepily awesome....

  13. I'll be on for CoE tonight @Eddage.

Hot fix for exploits is available and iron banner is live. Rotating between clash rift and control

    edit: it's just control.

@Eddage sorry man, wanted to play CoE but damn when Iron Banner was good, it was really good. Some matches we stomped them into Mercy. And then the red bar heroes appeared.

I know it has been laggy in the past but my [last] word, yesterday took the piss. People teleporting, God Mode, 'WANTED' corner curving bullets, blink before you can see it time to kills. I don't know how people with such bad connections can have such advantages but they do.

Despite that, still had fun. got rewarded with armour and will try to make an appearance for more today.

Also, it appears we have one less day to rank up as Iron Banner will end at reset.

  14. Survey results are in as well as other tidbits of info from the alpha:

Thank you to all who played the Nioh Alpha Demo! In just 10 days, over 850,000 gamers around the world took up the challenge of Nioh!

We also appreciate the tons of valuable feedback many of you also gave through our online survey. The dev team has read through the feedback and is coming up with improvements to make the final game even better. We're working on those improvements right now, and will have more information on the game soon!

In addition, it is safe to delete the Nioh Alpha Demo game data and save data. Deleting these data will not affect the Mark of the Conqueror.

    Source

Generally very positive although I hope there aren't so many changes to the mechanics that it feels like a totally different game.

  15. Is it just me or they reduced the sublime engram drop rate? I used to get them alot from the strike but I managed to get one out of 50+ and 2 from Tier 3 CoO. I want that new PS Exclusive helm.

Yes I am experiencing something similar. Want the Titan arms. They don't even drop at all in certain places. I used to be able to run a patrol just testing out a new and one would drop, now nothing.

Funny thing is when it does drop, it's the bloody old ps exclusive armour it decrypts to

On destiny right now if anyone is up for some activities

  16. Anyone gonna be on tonight for some Challenge of Elders?

Would rather play with some of you guys than randoms on Reddit!

    Me! Me!

    *puts hand up*

Totally forgot to post my own interest in doing this earlier

  17. Some of the mechanics and animations are straight or adopted from ninja gaiden which is a very good thing.

Happy to leave off where I finished and await the next demo or release. Definitely day one purchase. It's funny because the guy who showcased the demo a month ago made the game look so easy. Will have to re-check that video

  18. I would say if you are already sold on the game, then finishing the demo may not be essential if you plan to get it day one most likely granting you access to the dlc if that's their model.

That said, it's nice to see how the game opens up once he's dead and the level of satisfaction was immense.

I would recommend balanced stance. Two attacks from behind then bait the spin move while making sure you are out of range. I gave up on blocking as the attacks which you can block to me weren't as obvious as I would have wanted.

Also sell equipment and farm elixirs till you reach max of ten. Try to get enough kodama to receive the elixir drop blessing. Other than that, patience and learn those tells. He gets easier when he looses the chains but I will not argue that some of his hit boxes are dodgy.

  19. Beat the boss and my god, he had me sweating. Think I was on him for about an hour, much to the chagrin of my girlfriend but worth it. All I can say is, patience. A lot of patience is required. If you use the low stance, you can dodge him easy and retain stamina, but your damage output maybe so low that the battle drags on for too long and you start making mistakes that will cost you (all my armour broke at the same time causing me to panic a bit and ruin my concentration).

Instead I switched to balance and just chipped away at him, baiting certain attacks. If you have your living spirit, you can do a lot of damage in a short space of time. Probably about half his health bar, just don't go into the fight with a lot of Amirata as I did. Made me not call my spirit animal back to recharge it.
