The one thing I've learnt is that Pokemon games have never really been a demonstration of a particular piece of Hardware's power... in the way that Mario Galaxy showed off what Wii was capable of... There are always prettier games out there, so I really don't imagine a fully 3D world or something for Gen 6, like the Gamecube pokemon spin-off games for instance... I seriously think they will keep the isometric view, just with far more detail... at least the 3D will allow for a nice sense of depth with all the buildings and trees and stuff... Perhaps they would move to 3D models for Battles... or even the characters in the overworld... I dunno... I would love them to push the boat out, but in a way I kind of like the slow progression they have made with their GFX... Black and White kept the traditional style but had a really nice use of 3D here and there... just blocky as hell... with the added power of the 3DS, well I imagine a much cleaner presentation obviously... All I am really saying is that I have never felt Gamefreak pushing the GFX bar with Pokemon games, not really... so I don't expect a massive overhaul in their style for the 3DS games... but I am happy to be proven wrong

Yeah... not a fan of him. Or the same sort of Bouncy Squashy animation in Black and White, and now apparently B&W2... oh well, it's progression lol OH how I wish the design they used for the new Rival was used for the Hero instead... not digging the new Hero's strange hair and hat... nothing beats Gen IV's sickly flat cap thing...

I think the point that a lot of people seem to miss with Pokemon is that it is an incredibly well put together game. Even Red and Blue. The amount of content and statistics and variations in the way you can play... it's astounding. Non-fans look down on it, probably because of the cartoon or merchandise or whatever... the funny thing is that the game itself is so AAA it's not even funny. I always get funny looks when some of my mates see me playing it, and I mostly get someone squarking 'PIKA PIKA' at me mockingly, but there really aren't that many game series out there that chug along, for this length of time, selling the amount they do... while still upholding the quality, and often improving upon it.

Well... I don't mind them keeping the same camera perspective as normal, but with obvious enhancements in the GFX quality... When you say Muramasa I imagine 2D Pokemon sprites in battle still, but with a sumptuous hi-res quality... fully animated of course!! More akin to Ken Sugimori's concept pieces... all pastely and lovely!!! That is my dream, above fully 3D sprites... although I do love the models in the 3DS pokedex.

Well in all honesty we are both excited for this game, and for the same reasons. We only seem to disagree how progressive this is... but that's no biggie really. I can't say I ever played Pokemon for their stories, so perhaps that is why I don't jump for joy when a new plot if highlighted... I guess I just think that they wouldn't need too much effort to create a new 'plot'... anyway I thought N was in this?? ..Anyway, Black and White certainly felt Plot heavy (in terms of past pokemon games), so a new story in the same scope should be fun.

Yup... Just begs the further question of WHY Hamish and Serebii are being so precious about these games. I don't get it. No one is slagging them off... and Hamish, no one is 'DISREGARDING' them... just seeing them for what they are. I'm still going to buy it and love it, so calm down! OK let me put this into perspective... Does anyone remember Mario Galaxy 2? While it was being developed Myamoto apparently made some comment about how the game was going to be a certain percentage NEW and a certain percentage PAST stages from the first game, albeit it mixed up a little perhaps... Does anyone remember the fan reaction to that? I sure do. Very negative. Nobody wanted a sequel that retrod old ground, they wanted a brand new game dammit! You CAN get sequels that take place in the same world as the previous game, and retread a lot of old space, and feel very similar... I know you can, but I also know that usually, on face value, these games aren't really looked at in a very good light. The fact that Gamefreak has got away with selling us the same game, a year later after the core games release is hilarious and we, as fans, gobble it up and fill their coffers... What they are doing with B&W2 is great, they don't need to do this because we buy the 3rd entry anyway, but they are giving us MORE... so great!! it's not much more. Now, certain people seem to be arguing that Black 2 and White 2 so SOOO vastly different from the usual 3rd entry, when obviously they are not... and as more info comes out, it will become more clear... YES they put new dialogue in and yes they have a new starting area and yes it's set 2 years in the future but please, these are minimal differences. This is what the other 3rd entries should have been like! They too should have had a little rejig like these are having. The changes will be superficial at best, and yet Hamish and Serebii, you two seem to be getting very defensive about these games as if I am slating them or saying they are shit... I'm not, I'm just saying they are giving their traditional 3rd entry some new clothes! A new script to read... GOOD! It's a good thing! Perhaps this marks the end of Gamefreak reselling us the same game with only minor differences... they can give us some new dialogue and make it seem separate from the first adventures. I don't get this attitude that seems to suggest that if I don't fall in line with your opinion then I am obviously slating this or whatever... I'm not, I love Pokemon, I only played Black once and this new release is perfect for me to get into the game again! I loved Black and White... I love Pokemon, but I can see that these games are just Gamefreak thinking... "Ya know, we can't just chuck out another 3rd entry like we normally do, let's pop in a new story, swap some pokemon around, we'll change the map a little like we did in Platinum..." Hey presto, now they can slap a 2 on it and sell TWO versions! Clever dicks. And Serebii... on your website, you ponder whether they will have new starters? Really??? No, it's the same starters as Black and White. I bet you anything. The flyers even have the trio stood in front of the characters. ANYWAY... I am not trying to be a dick, I'm just seeing what I see. I'm not misunderstanding anything anyone else says I just don't agree that these releases are that amazing and that different.

but all the other 3rd entries have been like FFXIII-2, just lazier!!! What is everyone issue? Is it effecting your anticipation of this game to think of it as a modified version? It shouldn't, they are being smart about their 3rd entries now, and separating them further from the core games. So if Pokemon Yellow said "2 YEARS LATER" and changed the assets of a few characters you'd swallow it as a 'BRAND NEW GAME!!!'? I just don't get it

So they are putting more effort in? Honestly, we clearly disagree on this but I do have difficulty in understanding why people can't see it a little from my point of view. They are cranking up the effort they put into differentiating this from Black and White, but then they need to because they want to sell 2 new versions... I know all the new content they are offering, because we have all read the same articles but all it says to me is Pokemon Grey... with FAR more effort than they have ever put into it before... We have only been made aware of two new Gym leaders... for all we know that's our lot. I mean, come on... for years we have been buying a slightly modified version of the same game... Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum... we have been buying the SAME GAME which with every generation has added more differences to the Core series... if you think about it, the level of change in Black and White 2 is the level of change we SHOULD have got from the start!! So fine, tell me it's not Grey... It ISN'T grey, you're right it's Black 2 and White 2... but if this had been released as Grey? Same scenario. Gamefreak obviously just wanted to turn things up a notch, and good on them for not being their usual lazy selves... but this is not new territory... this is just a new level of EFFORT!

??? I mean it in the sense that this is Black and White PLUS... OK so they popped a 2 on the end, but really... this is just a slightly more in-depth retread of the same game. I don't understand why people are refusing to see things for what they are. It's not like I'm slagging it off or anything. Nearly all the 3rd entires had NEW AREAS and sometimes Remixed Pokemon locations... even way back with Crystal we had a new story thread with Suicine... It's the same as that, but they have cranked it up a few notches. OK there are New protagonists, but let's just skip that because your character doesn't actually have a character, so we'll call it new Skins... so great they have given the Boy and Girl a new picture... and OK there is a new rival but strip away all the new new assets and we have a rejigged version of Black and White. They have put a lot more effort into this than they usually do, but this is STILL a 3rd entry guys. It really is. Honestly, what is the problem? You wont find many people who are as big a fan of Pokemon as me, and this isn't any sort of attack or whatever... it's just, ya know, the fact of the matter. And Serebii... Kanto was post-game content, that was pretty cool... yeah. To liken this to that scenario we'd need an entirely new region as well.. We don't. We have a partially frozen over Unova and some new areas added to the map. Anyway, I'm not about to argue this too much, we obviously disagree with what we are seeing here.

I hate myself. I dared to dream that those stupid rumours might be true haha... but it was really only because the idea of a Platypus pokemon was pretty great to me :P Anyway... this whole BW2 affair is pretty much as I expected. Same game, shaken up a little, new areas... So they will add a little focus to the narrative this time around, but let's face it... this is Pokemon Grey, with a different label. Not complaining, I love Pokemon games... Day 1 for me. I've held off replaying White because of this game... Can't wait to check out the new areas, and I'm hoping all the unreleased Pokemon like Keldeo will be IN GAME rather than just downloadable... or if they ARE downloadable then please give them at least a little Scenario... not just given by the delivery man...

Oh look, an extended cut of the ending is being released. How shocking. Really though, LOVE doesn't keep characters alive, nor should it. Your attachment to characters is what makes tragic events tragic. Newt and Hicks dying at the beginning of Alien 3 was horrible... but horrible things DO happen you know, things that defy explanation... but just because it's fiction people expect everything to follow this neat line. Concerning Mass Effect 3, anyone that says the ending ruined their investment in the whole the trilogy is being a diva. ME3 was brilliant and had some amazingly moving and gripping moments. The ending was ambiguous and could do with more info... and that is what we are getting. People are STILL bitching though.

Yep, I'm putting myself out there... putting myself in the firing line. I'm about to whine about something stupid... ready? Ok, I hate myself, but here goes... um... James... isn't romancable? haha That sucks... Balls. Seriously, I have always been a little amused at the romancing options in Mass Effect and thus never really bothered with them, but James is just an out and out beefcake in a tight T-shirt with a bro-hawk... I feel a little sick that it even MAKES me want to investigate the romance options for the first time to be honest, but I'm only human and we all have our 'types'. My type is obviously great big gorilla men... so I make that decision, only to be told that he is the ONLY character you can't get with??? hahaha... colour me a little moody about that Ok, whining and self-respect shedding COMPLETE! Mass Effect 3 is pretty good right?
