I know the GAME over the road from us are sending people who ask about the Wii to us (Gamestation) because we expect to get more stock. Very very weird imo. I'd imagine that GAME have a similar returns policy on hardware to us: if it's not faulty and you've opened it up then no return for you.

After seeing the gameplay videos for this I'm actually more interested. I'm all for slashing and defending, as long as it stays fun over the whole game.

The only time ONM makes headlines is when it publishes lies and deliberate misunderstandings. Says a lot about the quality of the mag, I think.

Is DKC definitely confirmed for Europe? I was under the impression from other sites that this only made the Japanese list for 2006.

If you have a nearby Gamestation, they will almost always beat trade-in values at GAME (I see it every day) and failing that they will actually price-match the trade-in value, in fact beating it by £1. It's a company policy (all the "We won't be beaten on trade-ins" stickers on new games). And no, my store doesn't know it's stock allocation yet. We've taken about 125 pre-order afaik and the manager expects we'll be told to stop soonish. However, I know that about a month ago the company had only used 60% of its expected allocation in pre-orders. Whether that allocation has gone up or down I don't know - will of course put anything I hear up here.

I *could*, except the manager wants me in for the actual Friday itself since it will be pretty busy then too. We shall see, depending on how many more pre-orders we take he might want more people to work the launch.

My boss at work made up the December rota and I'm not down for working the midnight launch I was really looking forward to it too...

Why all the Snake hating? He's a great character with far more backstory and characterisation than Mario or Link have ever had. I think he's a really strong addition to the Brawl lineup, unless they make him a crap fighter of course.

Mein Kampf would be getting bought if it was available. You could argue it's educational!

They might pricematch with actual advertised price elsewhere but not if you need vouchers to get that price, even if they're free.

The last couple of days have been fairly DS/Wii busy in my work too, sold quite a few DS Lites (not all pink either). Lots of big 360 titles released this week so obviously we've been selling them by the bucketload. £37.95 for chart 360 games is pretty good! It's the people asking about the PS3 and still nodding after we tell them the price that get me down

Hasn't Metroid Prime 3 been on tour all over the world? It's not out until next year, probably Q2 if I had to guess.

Ask at your local Gamestation in a couple of weeks. Mostly it will come down to the manager and the number of pre-orders they've taken.

If you've pre-ordered and the store has enough units for you there's no need to camp out for an extended period of time. Take a hot drink, wrap up warm, and turn up about 3 hours before midnight with your DS and some multiplayer games. I'm a bit sad I won't be able to do that with people as I'll most likely actually be selling the thing at midnight. Wonder if the DS wi-fi multiplayer will reach from outside to the back of the shop....

Don't bet on it. Legacy is only on 360 and PC, so I think it will need a fairly beefy system.

Some people treat Nintendo like a religion so they want to be all holy and play it for the first time on "the day that Nintendo intendeth" - December 8th.

And remember there's Mario 3 on 3 Hoops for the DS.

I'd agree with you, but Rayman looks excellent and seems to be quite different on the Wii than on the other home consoles. Prince of Persia though....I don't see any Wii PoP game being out by March 2007/

Nono nothing to do with Nintendo. Rather the "Third Place" ad campaign was a glimpse of the future, where Sony hugely delay all their consoles in Europe. You see, after Japan and America, we are the Third Place...

Considering there's a delay for the US WarioWare, I wouldn't expect us to get it any sooner than January 15th. Retail hasn't been told anything, anyway.

The Classic Controller plugs into the bottom of the Wiimote, just like the Nunchuck does. In this way you don't need batteries for the CC, it runs off the batteries in the Wiimote. Still, seems like it will be a bit weird to have a Wiimote sitting on your lap while you play VC games...

Sorry but while the Gamecube is noticably more powerful than the PS2, it's nothing like the difference between the PS3 and the Wii. I develop games, but I shouldn't need to say that to make a point that is fairly well known.

It won't be first come first served. It will be first pre-ordered first served. If 150 people pre-ordered and they got 100 units the first 100 people who put down a pre-order would get one, even if people in the last 50 got to the counter before them at the midnight launch. This is the way the company are doing it. Any store that deviates would be in deep shit.

A PS2 port of RE4 is in another league from a Wii port of RE5. If the Wii got a port it would be a horrible cut-down shadow of the most likely excellent game on the other consoles. Much better that we get Umbrella Chronicles, a proper RE game made for the Wii in the first place.
