  1. they're fine... after a while you stop thinking about it. the aiming with the bow etc.. is really good.

slashing the wiimote to do the sword sounds tacky, but it's actually quite easy/effective.

it works really well, but obviously it's not designed to make you feel like you're actually doing it (like wii sports etc..)

  2. I played A LOT of MKDS and never had lag. Don't have Diddy Kong though. Still, the DS has very little speed capacity when it comes to online, the Wii probably is better.

actually, the DS uses 802.11b wireless - which gives you a typical network speed of 6.5Mb/s, and a max of 11Mb/s.. Most modern broadband connections are between 1Mb/s and 8Mb/s......

  3. I bet a new feature will be an LED battery indicator. I've seen shavers cost £20 just for this added feature.

    already does that.

if your wii is off, just press the A button a wii remote - the number of lights flashing at the bottom is the battery life.

doesn't really need to do it if your wii is on - 'coz you can just press home.

  4. anyway so i think im fucked. i didnt know what alot of you were on about with the cannon glitch, but i'm in snowpeak now and still on the first floor after getting the pumkin, went into this room almost underground (climbed through a hole in the wall and dropped down) went through an ice maze with little ice people on the floor, then put the cannon ball into the cannon, rotated it to where i wanted to blast.. nothing happened. exited and reentered the room, and the cannon ball isnt there anymore. will i have to start from the last save point??!

no, that's not the cannon room that the glitch refers to.

look on your map and you should be able to see the location of the cannon ball (it'll be a red dot... you might need to have the compass actually).. if not, it'll be wherever you fired it!

  5. I don't mean to be rude - but please re-read my post earlier in this thread, because many of you do not understand what DirectX is/does. You'll probably be a lot more insightful and make better predictions when you understand what it is you're actually referring to! :)

  6. DirectX is an API. so is OpenGL. ATI make graphics chips, and obviously - they have to work closely with Microsoft/the OpenGL ARB to make sure new features/extensions on their chipsets are supported in the APIs. However, this has nothing to do with Wii, really.

Nintendo have their own SDK, which from what many developers have said - is more similar to OpenGL (the Wii SDK is meant to be similar to the Cube one, and that was more similar to the OpenGL API than DX). As long as it tells the graphics chip what to do, it is of little consequence what the API is.

Nick and DCK are closest to the mark. :P
