  1. The Public Vote!

    Hit has overtaken miss.....just Hit - 50.43% Miss - 49.57% This was on September 17th 2005 at 21:18
  2. Gyration patent

That thing is $150. Nintendo have not only made something siimilar, but thaty've no doubt made it cheaper. But then again, Nintendo is a much bigger company, so they can afford to mass produce and make it cheaper anyway.
  3. Distances Required to play Revo

The technology still needs to be perfected. And perhaps you have to programme in a position before yo can play games, so Nintendo just chose to make that position a red X.
  4. Ok not quite, but I was trying to imagine how it might work. Post your other fake/comedic Revolution pics here!
  5. What will Microsoft and Sony say?

Regarding the Revolution controler I'll bet one word comes up in an interview ..... Gimmick Lets see what Dictionary.com has to say about the word shall we? gim·mick ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gmk) n. 1. a. A device employed to cheat, deceive, or trick, especially a mechanism for the secret and dishonest control of gambling apparatus. b. An innovative or unusual mechanical contrivance; a gadget. 2. a. An innovative stratagem or scheme employed especially to promote a project: an advertising gimmick. b. A significant feature that is obscured, misrepresented, or not readily evident; a catch. 3. A small object whose name does not come readily to mind. Is it just me or does this also match the criteria of certain Sony or Microsoft products? It's amazing how certain words get used in the wrong context all of the time, and people just accept it as trueth. It's the same reason the word "momentarily" became "in a moment" when it's actual meaning was originally "for a moment".
  6. What will Microsoft and Sony say?

It's a joke. Microsoft manage to contradict themselves loads. They'll say it's crap, and then 6 years down the line do something stupid like offer to buy Nintendo. I never said that it was based on the Revolution controller being a success did I?
  7. What will Microsoft and Sony say?

I wouldn't be surprised if after this gen Microsoft offer to buy Nintendo again, but this time for double what they offered last time.
  8. Jesus...not a lot of great feedback on this

    Yippeeee!!!
  9. Jesus...not a lot of great feedback on this

Am I the only person who didn't laugh the first time they saw the controller? I saw it, was slightly confused, but I never judged it until I had more info. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and it's clear with this. I didn't let myself be judgemental in the slightest until I had a proper understanding of what I was looking at. Why other people can't do this is beyond me.
  10. VGcats hates the controller

It's their job to take the piss out of everything game related, just like UK Resistance do. I wouldn't worry.
  11. Showing the controller to mates

It's difficult in the beginning. They all dissmiss it as a TV remote. I managed to convince someone that it wasn't pap when i showed the attachment. It's still a hard sale though. The video seems to help, and the possibilities article on IGN. But they just don't seem to understand it like me. Has anybody else got similar experiences?
  12. After seeing the controller this morning, all I can think of doing is actually having a go. I couldn't give two shits what the game look like because this is going to be a whole new experience. It's not like when I got my Gamecube. When I got that, i knew it was going to play like an N64, so therefor graphics had a higher agenda. But this is so radically differen't I don't care it the graphics aren't as good as on Xbox 360 and PS3, it really doesn't matter. Obviously I'd like them to be at least noticabley different from the Gamecube's graphics, otherwise why can't I just get this controller as an add-on to that? So i'm really not bothered if the PS3 has more pixels on screen, or whether the Xbox 360 has more FLOPS per sec. It really doesn't matter. I have a pretty PC to give me all that crap, but all I have to give this controller is the Revolution. Is there anyone else who so strongly wants to play on this thing that they couldn't care if the games aren't as pretty?
  13. I don't think I care how pretty the games are anymore

You're so right. realism isn't about just looking the part, it's about acting the part. The best games in my opinion are the ones that let you interact the best. It's useless making the uber-realistically graphic driven FPS when they all control in exactly the same way, and they all have the same damb cliches like exploding barrels, and destroyable crates. Where's the realism in that. Is it written somewhere that every evil genious is dumb enough to leave valuable cargo and supplies, randomly lying around, in conveniently positioned locations, that allow intruders to effective kill your troops in one shot or climb up into an air vent. It's just boring! This controller is everything I want. It not only allows you to control certain genres diferently, it allows you to control each game in a genre differently. No more set guidline as to how to play a particular game. It's sheer brilliance.
  14. Force Feedback

Force feedback (if not available this gen) will be in the next next gen along with visors possibley. OK so they seem a bit stupid now, because they're big, and bulky, and when you wear them, you look stupid. But apparently the first decent visor projection technology into something the size of shades is happening in 2007. Firstly, it'll be as simple as basic imagery. Something like a heart monitor for runners etc. But by the time Nintendo's next console after Revolution comes out in about 2012 or whatever, these will have been on the market for a few years, so it might be possible to put a 3D images inside the lens, giving th impression of being inside the game.
  15. Revolution's first game revealed

LMAO Brilliantly good fun, and it only needs movement and one button. And they say there aren't enough muahahahahaha!
  16. Showing the controller to mates

At the end of the day I don't care whether my mates hate it or not. I'm still getting one, and now wi-fi means I don't have to call them over for multi-player. I'm sure when they play it they'll go and get one too. As long as there are people out these who do like it, then I'm fine. If it stays a minority product just like the Gamecube tended to be I won't care. I love Nintendo's innovation, and I can't say I'll ever leave them. Besides, I'm moving to uni this year, so I'll have new mates living in the same house as me. They won't be able to escape there, muahahahahahaha!
  17. Will Nintendo Beat Microsoft this time round?

I think it is still too early for these kind of questions. OK, I'll be honest and say that I would like it to happen, but there are just too many factors we don't know yet. The most important of course is games. We don't know what games the Rev. has, or how they will use the controller features. On top of that, we don't know any info to do with marketing etc. so it's still just too early. But I'll tell you one thing, the Revolution is coming out at family get togethers at christmas and new year, and general parties at my house. It's perfectly designed for it. I can get people of all ages to join in. It will be great fun. I'd like to see the same happening with the Xbox 360.
  18. Black or White?

I was fixed on the black after E3, but now I think i'll get a white one. What colour are you going for, and most importantly why?
  19. Do you agree with nintendo?

    Yes I do agree
  20. Black or White?

The only way I'll consider black again is if instead of a silver base, it comes with a kind of charcoal/cobalt/ coloured base which is not black, be quite close to it instead. I like the black, I just don't think it works with the silver.
  21. How do you want to play FPS

I'd rather control it like each individual gun. Shotgun: Fire - one of the z triggers reload - cock the controller back then forward Knife/Chainsaw: Slash about (it's quite obvious) Twin guns: Hold a z trigger and the b trigger Grenade/Throwing knife: Hold A button down and make a throwing action, letting go of button when you desire to get perfect throw. Sniper: Twist controller varying amounts to change zoom. I'm sure there are loads more, but I can't be bother to think of them right now. Keep 'em coming.
  22. I've Played Revolution!!! (Picture inside)

Yes they do, but as they posted first, and my version is more accurate, i'm mocking their feeble attempts.
  23. Have you heard of Resident Evil 4? This was not only Gamecube exclusive, but it involved such activities as blowing people's heads off, and slicing them in half with chainsaws. I don't think that "mature" content is going to be a difficulty this time round. Though I do still hate the fact it's refered to as mature when most people who appreciate it are "immature" kids. I prefer violent, or extremely graphic as they give a better representation. I hope they get a lot of FPS support, and games like GTA. Not that I really want these games personally, but other people will, and they were both lacking form the Gamecube. Revolution already looks the part aesthetically, now they just need the software.
  24. Sitting in relation to the TV

Aren't ther 2 sensors either side of the screen? This will allow you to adjust it to your own specifications. It'll work like a surround sound system, you adjust the positioning to fit your living room. Quite simple really. I can't believe people are worrying about this stuff. Nintendo wouldn't miss this. Though I would have to say, that if you're playing Zelda, advise your friends to keep their distance so you don't accidentally hit them.
  25. Rev = the next gen platfrom for FPS's?

Seriously, what is it that you don't get? It's perfect. It's like actually holding a gun. What's better than that? IGN got to play a modded version of Metroid Prime 2 using the Rev controller, and said it was brilliant. They removed the lock on feature, as the new controller is so precise that it isn't necessary. I need to find a link, it's on IGN somewhere. Can anyone else post it? Anyway, my imagining is that it could also add the aspect of different control methods for each weapon. For example, you could cock it backward to reload when you're controlling a shotgun.
