  1. Pokemon X & Y

Quick way (or slow) is just to fill all your bank boxes, which isn't hard if you've been trading for gen after gen (or IV breeding). Then just wait and trade your miles for BP. I racked up over 1600 BP to transfer to AS and bought one of every item. Obviously it's slow if you don't have many mon, but if you put your mon away and forgot about the bank...you could have a right treasure trove of BP to harvest.
  2. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

There's potential for sd/cartridge or something familiar due to larger capacities and cheaper price. No idea if they're down to "would only make a 5 pound store price a game" dffernce sort of thing yet, though. Wouldn't it bring the actual console price/size down though, since no disc reader, lighter smaller fan (if even neccessary). It'd cut the console price down, and allow it to have more power for less cost. Something I've also heard is devs don't compress their games proper anymore due to large blu-ray sizes, so the space actually required in a compressed game card would be much less than a blu-ray so the cards wouldn't need to reach blu-ray size anyway (no idea IF that's true). But then again we can get bloody big cards now. EDIT: Well, there's this article... http://gamingbolt.com/nintendo-nx-why-not-having-a-optical-drive-could-potentially-work-in-the-big-ns-favor Seems positive, and I would hope IS where Nintendo are going, but...I have no faith they will. It's likely just people getting excited or nothing.
  3. Super Mario Maker Level IDs

Well, here's my first upload level ( with others in various stages of design). Sooooo Easy! 171 Coins. 0B18-0000-005F-D3EF It's easy, but full length. Maybe not easy to a newbie, but to everyone else. Couldn't see anywhere other than the title to put a coin count so it went in the title (for those wanting to "gotta collect 'em all!" since there's no Yoshi/star coins...yet?) I've had multiple insane/devious ones in design, but taking ages and realized I should probably just get a few starter ones under my belt first to raise confidence/experience.
  4. Super Mario Maker

Oops, posted in wrong thread, so moved to ID thread.
  5. Super Mario Maker

Oh dear... This is waaay too addicting. I've played hours upon hours and it still feels like I've done nothing. I deliberately set about unlocking everything (accomplished, now hurry up extra DLC themes/enemies/power-ups/interactions). I made about 8 mini levels while I did that, now I've set about making a full-length Mario Bros level. About four fields in... Of course I spent ages on a puzzle bit, getting used to what it would allow (p-switching blocks won't drop a bob-bomb pipe, but it will drop a bob-bomb bullet). I'm going to ultimately aim for one of each theme for each version, but will settle for one great level a version. I'm trying to decide whether an overall theme for a level or some sort of multi-style level is best (current one switches style every field like an obstacle course). What do you do when you realize you made crap compared to others...? I will get better! Yoshi bit was hilarious. Damn you, you cold bastard Mario!
  6. Rumour: MercurySteam were pitching new Metroid games

I could see a Metroid game like Zelda 2, with overworld planet map, then huge dungeon Metroid like areas. Areas would play like traditional Metroid, but you could have more unique areas since they don't have to be connected. Obviously not 100% like Zelda 2, it would still be Metroid afterall, and even the overworld would have Metroid like progression.
  7. 3DS StreetPass Plaza

Sheffield city centre has a right cluster fuck of relays. You could just walk around for an hour or so and get your ten, use them, get another ten... I never really come back with more than twenty as I just buffer the first ten then tag another ten because I don't like playing in public (robbers).
  8. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

Us humans do love our Animal Crossings. Hopefully it gets proper directed advertisement in the UK like the last one.
  9. Pokémon Rumble World

I had no idea there was an update. Not 100% it yet, but haven't played in a while other than to get my 20+ diamonds a day. Building up to buy EVERYTHING.
  10. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes

My bet is there's forest, temple, ice, volcano and sky temple levels. With a main/overworld level that connects/leads to each of those other levels, options/pathways opening up as you do each of the levels. My guess? Forest to start, which opens path to temple, ice and volcano (some 3 piece collectible items), which then opens path to sky temple. Which then opens up Lorule, which has similar "dark" level versions and has a similar level order pattern. Then after that there's a "true" final level with last boss battle on. So 6 "worlds" in each of the two realms, with one true finale. For a total of 13 worlds. As to how many stages on each of those, that's anybody's guess. My guess is "you know who" is eventually playable, who I shall not mention if you have not finished LBW. Which you probably SHOULD before playing this, as no doubt this game will spoil the spoiler.
  11. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Would it REALLY be Nintendo 10 considering we're a few off the tenth home console...? I think at this point we can all assume it stands for cross, as in cross platform OS or at the extreme end fusion (NOTHING can be ruled out without knowing more, as any logical person will agree). The fact 3rd parties seem interested is great...but we've been through THAT specifc craptread more than once, right? At this point "interest" means shit all.
  12. Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D

Enjoyed it, controls get easier (CPP). But then the only other MS game I've played is the first on PSONE. I've been meaning to go through them since completing this, been looking for a cheap CUBE remake of number one ever since.
  13. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Agreed, I thought the CUBE was a phenomenal machine. It had everything going for it. But like you state, they always miss something. I think, no matter what direction they head in, they need a checklist to make sure they've got all the bases covered that other consoles have covered. They can't really do anything about the starting late thing, though. The only way they can turn that around is if they turn it into a positive thing i.e. use the time that's passed to acquire components cheaper (because they'll be cheaper) and make a slightly more powerful console than the others. They'd have to eat losses for a while, but whether they tank or not is whether fans jump for it or not. Which is unpredictable (which is why they're unlikely to go this route). Even if they did get a slightly more powerful than the competition's machine, the only way it would advantage them is if devs based the "main" version of multiplats on the NX dev and go from there with making the other versions, which with the distrust/hate for Nintendo I can't see them doing. Though with the supposed fusion or cross-platform OS, I think they're trying to give third parties a wider base for their games, so that if they release on Nintendo there's more options, more chance for profit.
  14. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

Have you seen the amount of portable DS/3DS games SE puts out compared to home consoles? It's a lot. The NTSC/PAL combined sales of some games are likely worth more than the whole of Japan's. The truth is, translation costs aren't THAT much, at least not to the point it's completely not worth it even. We're talking about a dev with thousands and thousands of staff that has the money to even hire out translators if its own are stuck elsewhere. Compared to certain other companies who pump translations out like nothing that have far less money and far, far less staff and resources, anyway. I can "understand" and have "perspective" to understand they don't have to, and it may not be as profitable as Final Fantasy 37 or Kingdom Hearts 10, but considering 3DS games costs significantly less to develop and that they only need to take translation into effect for profits at this point, the total cost to them to profit ration is quite high in the profit area. Which I'm pretty sure is something they should be taking into account. Companies that base all their profit on the latest "shiny and expensive" game are the companies that are usually one or two failures away from collapsing in on themselves and being bought out. For any sane company, ALL profit is worth it, especially if it's many, many times more profit than the cost put in.
  15. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

No doubt they could take some sales away (those that just buy Sony/Microsoft for the multi-plats but are true Nintendo fans), as I said, but the anti-Nintendo sentiment and fanboys that have had the same console 3-4 gens in a row now to follow their consoles games series is just firmly entrenched now. PS2 was a different world ago. Of course we don't, but if they tried matching the specs of the other two they'd have to incur losses if they wanted to sell at a competitive price. It'd hurt them more, too, because they don't have other departments profit to prop them up like the others. It might "just" be feasible if component prices are down enough, but it still leaves them at the point where most have already made their "multiplat console of choice" this gen, and they chose the ones that aren't Nintendo...because they currently don't offer their multiplat needs.
  16. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

I'm sure it's more than a £1, dude. <_< Certain other companies with substantially less resources with games that sell as much seem to think it's worth it to translate their games. I can see this back-forward is pointless. Enjoy your day.
  17. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

If Nintendo went all "Copy Console No.3" and it failed, the money loss they experience would do VERY bad things to the company. And it WOULD fail. (NOTE: by fail, I mean fail compared to not selling as much as the others, not profit wise/game quality wise...which apparently some people think doesn't matter...LOL) Because... 1) Fanboys have already taken their pick of "uber powerful console". They've made their console bed and stuck to their specific console for 3 or 4 gens now. No radical fanboy is going to touch Nintendo even if it went uber powerful, the same way they refuse to touch their opposite (Sony or Microsoft). 2) They don't have the money to sell it at a loss (because they're gaming only, and can't continue to tank/drain money like the other companies that have sixty-billion other divisions propping them up). Sell it at a loss, not make profit. Sell it at "real price", too expensive for anyone to buy. 3) It'll be 2-3 years later by release for a console the same power as the other two, getting the same multi-plats...but gamers already own one of the other two. So why would they buy it...? That's why Nintendo goes it's own way. That's why they make profit. That's why they're still live and kicking. It's possible they could go uber. They could probably release a PS4 level power console late 2016/2017 now and make profit due to things being cheaper...but will anyone other than Nintendo fans buy it? It's possible there are some PS4/XO buyers that are true Nintendo fans and only buy the other consoles to get those multi plats Nintendo doesn't get anymore, that would come back to Nintendo. Is it enough...? Personally, I don't really care where they go with the home unit as long as they don't ignore their portables in favour of propping up a console that's already fallen down. I'm sure Nintendo doesn't care about matching PS4/XO as long as they make profit.
  18. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

It is, and has been proven. So you tell me the real reason then? (Because it's not lack of profit, and I've no bloody idea what it is). The only one that faffed up was Joker 2 because they announced it after they'd just released Pro version in Japan...so people waited for a game that never came. The game has done very well in later sales (which won't be tracked due to obvious reasons, and probably still made total profit combined US/EU on translation costs before later sales surge) Were they super sales? Probably not, but full EU/NTSC territories sales always resulted in profit, especially since they only really have to make back translation costs. Face it, it's an utter waste to have so many games that could result in extra profit that nobody can be bothered releasing. The only thing I can assume is, is that SE are still under the assumption us westerners don't really like classical JRPGs. Imagine this; imagine if they'd advertised the DQM series like Pokemon was. Spaced its releases in the blank space in-between Pokemon releases? It looks like Level-5 has realised the obvious and are going to do just THAT with Yokai Watch in the west. They're wasting the potential of their IPs because all they see western gamers as "ooh gimme that shiny expensive latest Final Fantasy!!" and that's it.
  19. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

I didn't conveniently forget (huh?) I don't see why they should have to constantly do SE's job for them. They've proved the profit is there from past experience, they should have picked up their own slack by now. Nintendo's not doing much of that anymore because it's spread so ridiculously thin they can barely get their OWN games out. The profit IS there. A profit good enough for most other companies.
  20. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

LOL As if "THAT" would be the reason if doesn't get a UK release. It's not getting a UK release because SE says NO, because it says no, because only Japan is allowed Dragon Quest games on the 3DS. I wish there was some sort of non-dscolsure for SE games where they couldn't announce them to the world outside Japan if they had no intention of releasing them as I'm sick of hearing about games I'd 100% buy but can never play just because SE have given up on translation for all their games except "shiny £100 million budget games" for PS4/XO.
  21. R.I.P Satoru Iwata

That pic says it all. Rest in peace, dude.
  22. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

Go watch this link now (those interested) The game looks so much better than first reveal hints at. It looks like there is a sort of main game, with you roaming around an actual town (though obviously not with usual trimmings) with your goal essentially to design/build the whole town inside/outside. With the game having loads of character interactions cut from New Leaf. I likely will buy this now. Is this game ANOTHER victim of subpar E3 trailer explanation?
  23. Monster Hunter Generations

So this is a "Best of" remake special with some new stuff?
  24. Super Mario Maker

    Awesome. Looking forward to it.
  25. Stars Catalogue/Updates

Awww...I want that. If only I hadn't blown all my points just to get them out of the way. Got 800 left...and two lots of console points missing (another 2000 total?). I suppose if I buy some new games, since there's plenty with stars I haven't bought yet. If I had money...LOL
