  1. Really need to go back to this, I believe i'm quite close to the end, done all the missions presented to me and just have to collect the letters. Not played it in about two months though :blank:

  2. The controls in the demo are a bit iffy. I prefer to have my attacks mapped to the right stick, rather than the buttons.

As Dcubed said, the proper game, when played offline, eases you in and let's you get to grips with what's going on. Expecting new players to know what they are doing in the demo is like telling a baby to run before it can walk.

Honestly, once the game comes out and you start hunting with forum members/mates it becomes a whole new game. The laughs will be even better this time around what with being able to actually talk to people!

You can drink a special potion that frees you from the ice.

Yeah I'm not really much of an online gamer in general but I can imagine this to be the kind of game that would be great fun online. If there's a good community on here playing it I may well pick it up and give it a go despite the demo.

  3. Downloaded the demo last night, it was my first experience of Monster Hunter and I've got to say I'm not really impressed, don't think I'll be bothering.

I didn't really know what I was doing to be fair, it does throw you in at the deep end without any real explanation, but I didn't find the controls particularly intuitive and the constant loading between areas was a bit jarring.

  4. James if you're still stuck at that part read the spoiler tag in my post on it for tips. Basically form a zombie train, take your time and pick your shots. Anything that explodes use to your advantage and when needed.

Thanks mate, I did manage it when I took the time to calm down and regain my composure. Back at the safehouse now!

  5. This has driven me crazy tonight

Been doing quite well survivors wise, had been through 8 up until St. George's church which I think is a fairly reasonable amount given my understanding is that is quite close to the end of the game. Lost 5 survivors tonight however doing the 'King of Zombies' arena at St. George's tonight.

Took a break to calm down nd went back and did it quite comfortably in one go, this game really messes with your nerves!

  6. Plugged on a bit more with it after getting over my frustration, my supplies are dwindling after the amount of them I lost and the amount of zombies the game has thrown at me since but its just adding to the challenge. Really fantastic game, the atmosphere is amazing and its so tense.

Really looking forward to seeing what they do with any sequel to this!

  7. Yeah, if you for example Mr. 1 dies and then Mr. 2 dies before you kill and loot back your gear from Mr. 1 then Mr. 1 vanishes with all the gear he had.

And Mr. 3 will then be looking for Mr. 2's zombie and the gear he had when he died.

With weapons that the "lost" survivor Zombie would have had (other than Bat and Handgun) they will respawn in random areas.

They could even spawn in an area you've not been to yet.

I think if you have hacked CCTV boxes and a weapon spawns in the area of a hacked CCTV box you'll be able to see it on the screens in the safe house if you check them. It'll tell you the general area (ie: Brick Lane Markets, Victoria Memorial) but not the exact location.

Yeah thought as much, in my case Mr. 2 here had little of value on him so I won't be bothering going back for him and putting my life on the line again!

Yeah I didn't check the CCTV boxes yet as I turned the game off in frustration, hopefully I'll come across them soon enough as it's going to make the next section of the game a damn sight more difficult having only a bloody pistol and cricket bat.

  8. It was at the end of the Tower of London section, all the Zombies had been killed in the area and no more were spawning but the Helicopter wouldn't attempt to land. The sniper was just frozen on the spot, spent a good 20 minutes wandering around trying to see if I could find any other zombies and nothing. Threw a molotov to the ground and finished myself off.

Respawned and just as I was about to go underground to the Ravens Dee place I got attacked by a friends Survivor Zombie and as I was looting him a police zombie jumped down from the area above and surprised me :(

I am right in assuming that once my next survivor dies I can't retrieve items from the previous survivor right? I've still got loads of items stashed at the safehouse but all my weapons were on that first survivor that I had to suicide.

  9. Been loving this so far but its managed to really frustrate me tonight, my game glitched and basically the only way I ended up being able to continue was to commit suicide. Of course that meant I'd lose all my items but I figured, no biggie I'll just go back and retrieve them. Of course the route back there were dozens of zombies and I was completely ill equipped to get them so my survivor died and now all my good items are gone Wouldn't be so annoyed if it was my own fault I died first time round, but when its a glitch in the game at fault its very frustrating!

  10. Makes no sense for Nintendo to be showing off any huge reveals. There's plenty on the horizon for both 3DS and Wii U between now and next E3.

We have Scribblenauts Unlimited, Monster Hunter 3, Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3 and Game & Wario all on the horizon for Wii U.

Not to mention there's still plenty of room for other third party announcements, weren't there rumours that Square-Enix were planning to release one of their major titles, probably Tomb Raider. If that, along with Aliens: Colonial Marines and a few others are on the way then the Wii U has to me a very strong schedule for the months ahead.

I don't forsee any major announcements till E3 - Nintendo are going to be up against MS and Sony's new consoles and really are going to need their software to show.

If they can pull well into completion versions of the next Mario and Smash Bros' out of the bag, in addition to whatever Monolith and Retro are working on and potentially even a trailer for the next Zelda then they could really show up MS and Sony. Would be silly of Nintendo to show their hand now when there is already plenty on the horizon.

  11. Not even tried this yet.... does this have an update too? Current;y d/l'ing the CoD update

I just ran into a dead survivor! @James and Games

    Thought that was really cool!

Sorry but I may have looted stuff from ur bag... Ur Zombie doesn't need them anymore! :p

Haha thats awesome! I'm gonna restart this soon and hopefully run into a few other survivors now I've got some friends added!

  12. Not even tried this yet.... does this have an update too? Current;y d/l'ing the CoD update

Yeah it does, its only a fairly small one though - took me about 5 minutes.

Tried out a few of the multiplayer modes today, utterly brilliant. Capture the Flag is superb on it. So tense!

  13. Finding this really enjoyable but also really difficult, played a bit last night to get accustomed to the controls and the way it worked and now I've done that I think I'll start a new game properly.

It really does create an awesome atmosphere, found myself sneaking around so tense and scared at what could be round the next corner! Really easy to panic when a horde are on you and you can't immediately figure out what to do!

  14. Mine arrived earlier this afternoon and I'm another to receive an icy cold Wii U. Had visions of it not working as a consequence but I gave it time to acclimatise, dried it off and its all set up now and seems to be working just fine.

The update is installing and then I'm ready to go, can't wait to get started. My flatmate is out for the evening as well which means no disturbances till later on!

Nothing quite like the launch of a new Nintendo system is there?

    My Haul
