With something like the 3DS, it's quite clear that not everyone will be "compatible" with the effect, since not everybody's eyes and brains are the same. However, I would say that so far the positive feedback far outweighs the negative. Unfortunately, a negative review, coupled with the extremely rare case of the 3DS actually hurting people, will get much more attention than the thousands of positive ones.

The Download Play feature is exactly the same as with the old DS's right? So as Mokong said, I don't see how it would be a problem to download 3DS content from the Wii. Although it might require an update on the Wii end. I suppose this would only be useful until the shop is available though, so two months at the maximum, so I don't know if it Nintendo would consider it necessary, but nonetheless I would like to see it.

In general I hope that they continue to update and support the 3DS more than they did with the previous DS's and the Wii. Unfortunately what they used to do is just release a couple of updates with actual content, but unfortunately most of them were just to try and stop the homebrewers. I certainly would like it if we saw new AR games, Streetpass puzzles and quests, more Faceraiders levels, additional ways to spend coins etc. in the future. Hopefully Nintendo have learned from the past, and are willing to do things differently this time around.

Do you have any news about when the Global Link will go live Serebii, or anyone else for that matter? I understand of course that they couldn't meet their deadline what with the situation in Japan, but I'm just curious.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly does the power saving mode do? I haven't tried it, but I assume it just dims the screens after a while of inactivity.

I didn't think of that. From now on I will spend the coins on the puzzles, although who knows how long it will be until I actually meet someone else

I'm almost certain that it only works in sleep mode, but I'm not sure about the specifics, like how often it checks or what the range is.

A "shiny" pokémon is one that has been exposed to dangerous levels of radioactivity. This high dosage of beta and gamma rays can lead to drastic changes in the pigmentation of their skin. For this reason, they will often have unusual colors, completely different than their unexposed counterparts. Only very few of the pokémon exposed to such high radiation doses survive, which makes them very hard to find. A typical estimate is that one in about 8000 pokémon has been radiated, but survived.

Yeah, breeding is a lot of fun. Especially when you put a lot of work into getting a certain Pokémon with a specific move-set, it's very rewarding.

I hope I'm not hurting my 3DS by leaving it turned on the whole time. With the cradle and everything, I usually just keep it in sleep mode, compared to my DSi which I always turned off. This behavior doesn't damage the battery or the device in any way does it?

Yes, the egg will always be the same species as the mother. If you breed with a Ditto though, it will always be the non-Ditto species.

The best feature for multiplayer would be more customization when it comes to the rules. So you could choose no blue-shells for instance, or even no items at all, along with number of laps and so on. However, even if that isn't included, the way the various online aspects of the 3DS are already so superior to anything we've seen so far from Nintendo, makes me confident that this too will have great multiplayer. I look forward to the N-Europe races that are bound to happen.

Does anyone know when the shop and browser will be available? I'm just curious if it will be soon, or in a couple of months or something. In a way, I'm happy if they are taking their time and putting a lot of effort into it.

It can be useful sometimes, although I usually let them evolve for the better stats. Especially now that TMs are infinite use, moves are a lot easier to teach and re-teach.

Well, the AR games really are very fun and make great use of the 3D. Face Raiders is also quite enjoyable, and has a surprising amount of replayability. The Street Pass stuff is also really cool, especially if you actually pass someone in the street. I would have to say that given the excellent first party games that will surely come to this system, there isn't really a reason to wait until those games are released to get the 3DS. Even though I didn't buy any games I don't regret getting the device at all, and I think I will easily be able to keep myself occupied until some games that I do want are released.

The 3D is more to added depth than to make things pop out, and although I haven't played any 3DS games apart from the bundled software, for me the 3D effects work really well. I don't have a single criticism so far.
