  1. Will you be getting a Switch at launch?

My rational mind says I should wait. My fanboy-mind is clinging on onto my pre-order I've had since July, and I pity the fool who tries to take it from me. So, against all better judgement: Yes. Yes, I will.
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I guess this means I have to get all gold medals and stars again. Somehow, I don't mind. And I can do it with King Boo this time around.
  3. Ultra Street Fighter 2 - The Final Challengers (2017)

I like Street Fighter 2, and this looks like SF2 HD with extra's: two fighters, dramatic battles and some 30 bucks. Still... Why not Ultra Street Fighter IV?
  4. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I don't know where I stand with the presentation and the line-up at this point. The system itself looks fine, but that launch line-up... could have been better. BotW us great, and Bomberman holds my interest, but the other games: meh. Skylanders, Just Dance and 1, 2, Switch aren't quite games to entice potential buyers, and at this point the only other game is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, almost 2 months later. That's pretty barren, even if the likes of Ubisoft release their ports in the meantime of Capcom release USF2. Nice games, to be sure, but it won't convince those who need convincing. I shouldn't complain when a new Zelda, Mario, Splatoon 2 and a deluxe-version of the best MK arrive in one year... but I hope there is more third party support on the way. A definitive edition of a game that was originally slated as a WiiU launchgame, a 'costum'-version of Fifa and a remix of a 8-year-old SF2-game doesn't a stellar line-up make. And Skyrim. But Skyrim is awesome. Shame we have to wait until fall, and the last of 'special edition' concernes me. That said, it WAS a Japanese-oriented presentation, and Square-Enix and Atlus, amongst others, are bretty big names. Time will tell, and I'm not giving up my pre-order just yet. Hell, I've had it since July, back in the NX-days. And Arms is looking mighty interesting! Bummed that the trigers are not analogue... Doesn't bode well for GC-virtual console, where analogue triggers are a necessity. EDIT: probably sounded a bit negative there. I'm still very much exited about Switch. And BotW, Skyrim, MK8, Dragon Quest Heroes, Mario and others on the go/toilet? Yes, please! I do hope Splatoon 2 has a decent single player, so I can have something to ink on the train.

I second that! Genius game, really fun and sadly overlooked due to it's partygame-heritage. Rabbids are great characters, but sadly not used very good most of the time. Anyhoo, I found this to be an interesting watch about the Switch's speculated power.
  6. Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (30th Oct)

I very much like the series, so I was very happy this gitca Western release. I was disappointed by the Wii-version of Project Zero 2. I adore PZ2, but the controls in the Wii-version really brought it down. I like Maiden, but te biggest drawback for me is that, when compared the the previous entries (not counting the 3DS one), it's not very scary. :/

So... It's been a couple of years since I've been here, but apparently the original gamers have been replaced with stubborn analysts who like nothing more than to argue endlessly about strategies of big companies none of us are actually part of or what defines as a proper 3D-Mario? Can somebody direct me to the FUN N-Europe forum?
  8. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Well, this technical mumbojumbo is getting way over my head. I'll leave it at this: when I push right, I expect to move right. I've actually pre-ordered the Switch way back when it was still the NX, on July 27th. My usual store already had a placeholder page for NX where you could pro-order it, if you knew where to look. If I'm not on the day-one-list, heads will roll...
  9. Paper Mario: Colour Splash

I wouldn't hold my breath. It's a shame to let this one slip by because it's on WiiU. It's worth it! Unless you've already got rid if your WiiU, that is.
  10. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

A Switch projector that projects items on your hand? Sounds a bit farfetched and clumsy to me... but who knows? http://www.polygon.com/2016/10/24/13379434/nintendo-switch-secret-projector Oh, wild speculation. What would the internet do without you?
  11. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I was just wondering... How easily wil you be able to switch (Hah!) game cards while Switch is docked. It on the upper side, but I wonder if the dock is stable enough or the cardslot easy enough for hassle-free cardchanging. Just retorical, obviously. We'll only know when we have one in our hands. Or atleast in the dock.
  12. Super Mario Switch

Well spotted! I'd say it's definitely a reflection. The same colour as the drapes would be a mighty coincidence, and you can even see the same kind of colour reflected in the TV too. Moreso, on close inspection you can even see the curves in the drapes reflected on the Switch-screen. If it was truely a feature that they slipped in the trailer, they would have made a bigger fuzz about it, or not show it at all until further notice. Nothing wrong with Sunshine, mate. Nothing wrong at all. Bar Bowser's voice. Not the smartest of moves, that one. It was a move away from 64, and while it feels more unforgiving and stiff today (recently started playing again), it definitely has it's merits and charme.
  13. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Well, it's a concept trailer, so realism isn't really taken into account, nor should it. But it conveys the idea pretty clearly. The dude was watching a blank screen anyways, with games added in post-production. And I remember times when rumble, dual analogue stick and online gaming were considered gimmicky. Reviewers called dual analogues uncomfortable, unintuitive and unlikely to ever take off. Online was regarded as a simply sidedish. Now whole franshises are built around it. I don't see this as a mere gimmick. It pretty substantial. How history will favour it? Only time will tell, as with VR. Tony Hawk was so sure his skateboatd would revolutionise gaming. Motion controls were the future. Now it looks like a interesting yet flawed experiment. This looks like a hassle-free version of PS4's and Vita's remote play, a great yet rather restricted feature. You can play on the telly if you want. You don't have to take it with you. But you have the possibility and choice to do so, even as a mere convenience. That's still a great step from not getting away at all.
  14. Super Mario Switch

    That's no moon... That's a spacestation.
  15. [?] Mario Kart 8.5/Switch [?]

I hope this is an enhanced version of MK8, and all signs point towards it being just that, but let's hope Nintendo isn't pulling a fast one on us by adding a few new things to an existing game and.... Tadaaaam! Brand new game! Mario Kart 9! Our kartrelated-work for this generation is done! I'd say that they wouldn't keep the style and fonts exactly the same for a sequel, but *cough*NewSuperMarioBros*cough* I just hope MK8.5 is A MK-Switch game, not THE MK-Switch game, however awesome MK8 is.
  16. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Hellayeah! I'm with you! Seriously though, this truely sounds like music to my ears. I'm completely on board with this concept and was hoping the initial rumours checked out, which they did. I was worried about the name they would give it (not Nintendo's forte) and if the reveal would resonate. First impressions were key, especially with Nintendo not being on the good side of many a gamer, myself included... but by the Gaming Gods, I think they delivered on both accounts. Enough to not mind the name Joy-Con. Which is telling. The reveal was spot on, and the name, while not a revolution (Hah!), is nice, representative of the concept and for the first time in 10 years, it's grammaticaly correct. Still think they should have called the Wii the Nintendo Go, having an active element representing the motion controls and it being the fifth Nintendo console, since Go means 5 in Japanese.
  17. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Another small detail I like is that they seem to have reverted back to the good ol' Nintendo red for their logo. It's not GC-indigo (That was truely Funky!)... but still nice and classic! :p
  18. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Interesting... Enhanced MK8 and Splatoon? Nvidia Tegra-tech confirmed
  19. Super Mario Switch

True, and I'm happy we get to explore more than just a desert-, water- or lava-level. Yes, galaxies just weren't diverse for me. And there is no HUD yet, but I hope we don't get to see a timer... It's the 21st century. We don't need timers in our games. Yes, I'm looking at you, 3D World!
  20. Super Mario Switch

And yet that is everything I wanted to see. If they dared to unveil another New Mario Bros-game, there would have been blood. Or at least an uproar on the internet. Well, there is always an uproar about anything on the internet, but you get the gist. This looks very promising. Can't wait to see more!
  21. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Well, Nintendo, you did it. It's been a long time, but you nailed that announcement. I loved the idea of the Switch, so I'm estatic that the rumours turned out to be true, even if that was pretty much a given at this point! And Skyrim on the go? Hell yes. A million times yes!! I'm not sure about touchscreen, though. It works if you're in portable mode, but what about when it's docked? Touchscreen functionality would not be possible then, and from a cost-perspective it might make more sense to make it not touch-compatible. Then again, maybe the touch-features are simply an option on the go? Ah, now we have so many answers, yet so many questions pop up! That Mario, though... That looks... awesome!!
  22. After doubting for a very, very long time, even after playing the demo, I finally broke and picked it up. And... I quite enjoy it! I'm not even really into strategy games, so it's quite surprising actually. Or perchance that exactly the reason why?
  23. Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut

Great... Apparently the retail-version Deus Ex HR - DC isn't being released in Belgium, possibly whole Benelux, for the time being (if at all) because of 'problems with the publisher', Square-Enix, according the a local game store. They said to check the site of the publisher for the last updates, but no announcement has been made up to now. True, it isn't available anywhere here in any store. Curses... Not this again. To Amazon.uk I go! Order placed! :p And yes, I'm old fashioned. Me want disc!
  24. Okamiden

Ah, sweet, portable Okami-goodness! Edited for biggerness
  25. Tank! Tank! Tank!

It's quite fun, actually. Stupid, brainless, arcadey fun, but fun nonetheless. Still, not worth the full retailprice, but definitely recommended if you like arcade games and you find it cheap. It's ol'skool over-the-top colourful simple arcadestyle gaming. Me like! And quite addictive, I might add. It shames me to say I've played this more than ACIII. Classic!
