  1. I agree. They never really utilised the feature in the same way that they didn't utilise the 3D in the 3ds outside of the launch titles which used it pretty well.

I think that's part of the reason people were clamouring for a console that was just console and normal controller akin to GameCube. One can dream. As it stands though I do like the design of the actual console. Hopefully they do more with it this time themselves so third parties will take note and try and do something unique too.

That's why I think that this time it will be better as it is much easier for them to utilise the futures they have now in the controllers especially as they have a lot experience with that.

  2. Sure they made some good and Nintendo-esque games for the system - but I don't feel any really utilised the gamepad appraoch that I'd essentially been sold the system on and bought into. Given they seem to be going for a bit of a gimmicky thing with the JoyCons but I don't believe the Switch is going to do as well as they expect, I don't have much faith in them this time either.

But now we at least have some great games announced and it looks like they weren't rushed, plus the gimmick they are using this time (again) is easier to produce games for.

We already have Zelda, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, new 3D Mario and all of these games looked great in trailers. We have 2 racing games announced, sports games (NBA, FIFA, Ubisoft), Mario Kart (with improved battle mode, but I get the problem here), few JRPGs, we can expect a new Pikmin game, other games are announced, so at least the first year should be great.

  3. OK, I forgot about this trailer :D. I've seen it now and I am not sure if I like the city part (I don't like that kind of graphics for a Mario game), but the rest looks fantastic.

I really thinkg that this console will have a lot of fantastic games.

  4. Well you'd just slap the phone in your pocket and have your hands-free headphones in... but, what about the interrupting noises of the phone? Phone calls, texts, notifications... also, smart device batteries aren't exactly great, this will be yet another drain on them!

People will be playing and voice chat will cut out as their phone battery will have run out.

    All in all it's stupid.

OK, the battery shouldn't be a problem, you can plug the phone into a charger when you start playing, but I am a bit worried about the interrupting (maybe they will find a way around it).

But all in all I do agree with you, there shoud be an option for VC without using the phone, but at least they have included it so maybe it will turn out good.

  5. The only problem with this game is that you need space and can't play it for to long, unless you are in a good shape (if you want to play with motion controls).

Anyway it seems like I will be getting this one. My PC will have to wait....

  6. Isn't the RRP just that and we could expect cheaper games than that (maybe not Zelda, but other games)?

I am still convinced that when it comes to games this will be one of the best if not the best console ever (because of the 3DS devs that eventualy will switch to NS), but we will need to be patient.

I only hope that they will make enough games where the extra staff in controllers will be utilized so we know why we have paid as much as we will pay (I am already happy with the gyro in pro controller).

  7. Well, based on UK Amazon prices:

    • SanDisk 64GB Micro (80Mb/s) = £17.39; ~£0.27/GB

    • SanDisk 128GB Micro (80Mb/s)= £45.34; ~£0.35/GB

    • SanDisk 256GB Micro (95Mb/s) = £149.99; ~£0.59/GB

So, 64GB SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC is the best for value over here. You could probably tell at a quick glance, but I figured I might as well break down the rest anyway (for anyone who wants to compare to other brands).

    Thanks a lot, that's great :).

Does anyone know how does the Switch work? Is it like mobile phones, where you have apps on your sd card, but some stuff is still on the internal memory?

It looks like the best way to go would be with 3-4 64GB cards if you want to go digital, as it is not to many cards as you will have a case for it anyway (the Switch needs it), or 2 64GB if you want to go physical (because of updates).

  8. NO I'M AN ADULT AND I ENJOYED THIS.

(you can tell I'm adult because I'm using all caps and have an Adventure Time signature/avatar)

To be fair, I've liked it actually more and more and have suggested my wife that we could play it with friends :D.

It looks like there are more games I am going to buy :D.
