One friend code per system

Recommended Posts

It's awesome news, no fifty code system. I couldn't give a shit about player stats because i'm the only one who'll be playing it.

I lvoe the time feature though, it's one of my favourite things about Xfire.

It has it's down sides, I scared me, when I relised at one point that I was doing over 30 hours of counter strike a week. :D

Yeer I think it's a good thing to be able to keep track of time played and stuff. Also one code = very good. It's just me who will use it, as long as the let multiple people play online at once (using one wii), I'll be happy.

I know someone who will benefit immensly from this.

Blue_Ninja0, seriously, his brother aces every single game, it's like a gift or something.

Meh. It's better than per game friend codes anyway.

Thing is, my brother sucks. Oh well, at least I have an excuse for bad rankings.

On a fundamental basis this is good, young children and the internet don't typically mix.. I'm all for freedom of speech but this will allow parents to see who they are socialising with on WiiConnect24.

This is good, because it will actively bring the family online.. it will act as a first swim on the internet for many kids and I think it's good that there is no privacy for younger children.

I think it will be used more for getting advice on a game, scheduling a match or sending a photo or something.

It's not going to be used to e.mail your love letters to your kinky girlfriend.

I like that it's universal, the Wii isn't going to be hosting counter strike.. I think it's better that the family play as a whole and all contribute to the Wii's statistics online.

It will eliminate hardcore stat pumping for a lot of people I hope and make them realise it's just a bit of fun.

Will this work like msn? as in you invite someone and they approve you or is it like the ds when you must add them and they must add you?..... i found the ds one a pain as no one adds you back :(

So you wanted to log in everytime you played? That would be crappy as hell.

I REALLY like the fact that I can know how much time I've invested into games, I always thought consoles should have this.

Hellfire there will be a huge amount of people who can't use that feature, as the console is shared. Even your time tracking feature will be slightly wrong if you show it to a friend and he plays or whatever.

The Xbox 360 allows multiple profiles. You can set one to default, and have it sign on automatically, so if you play by yourself you don't even notice, or you can just choose from a list. You don't need to put in passwords and it takes seconds to click your name.

The Wii isn't encouraging family fun by doing this. It doesn't benefit anybody.

So, we get 1 friend code per system, but if you're sharing with siblings, they're going to use your code as well!

What? Am I missing something? How did you arrive at that conclusion? Your avatar (Mii) is player-specific, so isn't it still possible that you'll get one friend code per person?

I don't mind either way.

It's fun because it's true.

But i hope we can have different profiles and as Patch told us, every Mii will probably be a different profile and will keep it's own stats.

I'm not fussed at all. The only people who seem to be complaining are those who have something to prove to the world. The console is about having fun, not about being the best...

If it's that much of a problem, you can either:

a) not let family play it

b) put a lock on your bedroom door

c) buy your own one (they are cheap after all)

d) get over it

If per chance the Wii happens to be a family present... maybe you shouldn't be complaining!

I personally like the way all of this is turning out. At the same time, I agree wholeheartedly with Patch. The Mii thing will act as an avatar and be player specific... everything will turn out fine. Relax!

Calm down people, each controller holds you Mii character and Mii data.

The controller is personal to you.

I'm sure if you're using your controller then your stats will not be screwed with. It's only the message system that is shared.

It just means you can go round a mates without any hassle. The Wiimote has memory for sound files and personal data. Hopefully characters or even entire save files.

This would totally justify the high cost if you ask me,
