I've got the game on PC, and it is sweet. Maybe if there's enough demand and some sort of campaign, maybe Valve would take notice? OK OK, internet campaigns never work, but we can dream can't we? The new Team fortress looks awesome... and the graphic style looks almost like a nintendo game! Nintendork Posted September 25, 2006 Share Posted September 25, 2006 The Xbox really struggled to put Half Life 2 out.. and it required a lot of work following many delays. And that's on a system which is practically a PC. There was loads of slowdown.. I doubt it will end up on the Wii personally. The xbox version sold poorly. The xbox SDK is based on DirectX, and HL2 is also based on DirectX, so the conversion is easy, while Wii is based on OpenGL (or something like it) which makes the conversion a huge effort. HL2 EP2 is going to require more power than previous titles in the HL2 storyline. If HL2 does come out on Wii, it'll probably look worse than the XBOX version... Hellfire Posted September 25, 2006 Share Posted September 25, 2006 Actually, no you wouldn't need to write down Friend codes, that Nintendo's strategy for their games, 3rd parties can have their own systems and I doubt Wii isn't capable of HL2, I mean XBOX did it and Havok is used with Wii, so I see no big problem there. The Wii is more of a challenge because of its input - that's something that we're going to have to work harder to understand. It's easier to think of the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 as things that live within the flexibility you already have to think of on the PC side. And the Wii is the thing that is both furthest outside and most exciting, because of the controller. I have to say that we don't understand how to take advantage of that yet. We think there's a lot of potential there, and our respect for Nintendo goes up a notch, as they're the ones who are doing the things that are disruptive and exciting.
