I finally finished Beck: MCS.

Excellent, just excellent. Some of the songs in it were class. A great series.

Right, saw Clannad after story 6 - thus ends Misae's arc. It bore all the hallmarks of a Key ending, but meh, still a bit thin for me. Seems we have Yukine's arc yet - they're really going through all the possibilities. Hopefully all this extra stuff will make after story all the more cogent.

It seems I don't mind all the minor character arcs as you seem to do, Grunch.

But that's probably because I really don't know anything about any of the arcs, so the surprises are all there for me to discover.

I think it's more that I know what's coming in the last arc. And though I may find it hard to do so, it's worth waiting for.

That's what I was trying (albeit quite hopelessly) to say.

You're anticipating what will happen, whereas I don't even know what will happen. So I don't mind all these arcs while you're sorta going "I can't wait for the thing to happen."

Probably. I dunno. ::shrug:

Screw it. That's why I don't watch it no matter what folk say. No fun to watch when you know what happens in the end.

You know what happens at the end of Clannad?

1. For the love of god, don't tell anybody who doesn't know.

2. It's still really fun to watch. And there are some great parts of the story that are unrelated to the ending.

3. You probably don't understand the ending properly unless you've played the game/read the game script/read a lot about it.

Anyway yeah, it'll be win, whether you know what'll happen or not.

I've totally forgotten all that happened in Clannad. Might have to watch it again before I start After Story. Also I've got episode 24 somewhere on my desktop.

Was that an extra episode or something?

No, that's all there is of season 1.

DMC12 is out! It's the last episode, supposedly...:(

The last episode was epic. I like how Jack's lip-synching was decently animated like in western animation, and the rest of the characters had the typical anime mouth animations.:D

Has anybody here watched To-Love Ru?

If you haven't, then don't. It is very meh.

If that's what your typical fanservice and ecchi-laden anime are like, then no thank you.

Unless you happen to like fanservice and ecchi-laden meh anime like that. Then by all means, go ahead and watch it. :indeed:

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

If there's one thing i hate about the Japanese's is their anime's that only serve as purpose sell sex and boobs.

For fuck's sake, if i want that, i'l watch porn, not animated cartoons.

Worse is the fact that they put giant boobs and take away gravity from them.

Anyways, i'l never watch such shit as Rosario Vampire again.

Yeah, some anime companies turn a good manga and turn into fanservice and ecchi-laden anime and change the main lad scaried of woman and a wimp.

Who cares, it's there for those who wanna watch it, just inform yourself before watching something. I think it's great that they don't try to act all PC and have all kinds of stuff.

Anime is the opposite of PC, I wish it was more sometimes.

Why? What exactly would be the benefits of being more PC unless you're an overbearing, ignorant and old fashioned soccer mom?

I've watched the first five episodes. For what it is doing it is quite funny I think. :) Though Kemeko DX is much funnier and provides less fan service. :D

The To Love Ru Manga on the other hand is good and much better than the anime but if you still not a fan of fansevice. :heh: It's probably not for you!

Being absurdly politically correct is one thing, but anime is so far the other way that it ends up being limited as a medium. It'd be great to see a show about, say, middle aged men, with no supernatural or sci-fi components at all, provided of course that the story was good. All other forms of media exhibit pretty much limitless variation, but anime is constrained by having to pander to audiences of either kids or perverted otakus.

What's the point in doing that with anime? Most people who would be interested in a show like that would rather be watching it live action.... Using animation is a perfect way of showcasing something supernatural or sci-fi without being so unrealistic (an anime can look perfectly realistic relatively unlike most live action shows) as to detract from the "illusion".

I disagree there are so many anime and manga, some are absurdly non-PC, others aren't, there's pretty much everything for everyone. I couldn't disagree more when you say that other media is limitlessly varied, I think it's the other way around.
