Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

Recommended Posts

It is still not a good excuse.....Oh this is going to just be one of those things that people will realise is a problem when the game is actually reviewed. I said the same thing about wario and the same thing was said to me.
I agree that there should at least be a 4 player option for those who want to use it!

If you have trouble using the Wii-mote and find the screen too small then use the 2 player option!

Is this still due to come out at the end of the month in Japan?

Hopefully that means it won't be too long to get here - it's hardly text-heavy for the localisation peeps!

Gah, I just heard 'Big Brain Academy' coming from the TV. For a moment, I thought there was just a slim chance, so I ran into the room...

But...

DS advert :(

Yes and No. Mii's with their users "In-Game Intelligence" travel through C24, and you can play against the Miis in the multiplayer.

So does that mean that somehow the mii becomes intelligent and answers the questions on somebody elses wii for you? :wtf:

I guess it will record how you play the game normally and extrapolate the data to use to be able to complete the puzzles.

Can the thread title be changed to "Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree"?

List of games:

Think

1. Item Gopher: The player is given a list of items that they need to retrieve from a group of Gophers. The game will also tell you the order in which you need to get the items.

2. Mixed-up Picture: Select from the four possible answers the best word that describes a constantly changing picture.

3. Flash the light: By using a flashlight to analyze a dimly lit area, answer the question given to you.

Memorize

1. Caged Canary: Memorize the movements of the canaries in the cages and choose them in order after time has expired.

2. Kids Just Wanna Have Fun: Identify the faces of children while they are playing.

3. Cattle Cry: Memorize the order of sounds given to you.

Analyze

1. Shoot the blocks: You are given a form that you need to match by destroying blocks on the screen.

2. Quick Mistake Quiz: Out of a group of pictures, choose the correct answer after being given a random question.

3. Choose the Cube: Choose the 3D cube that most resembles the one that the game shows you.

Compute

1. Pop the balloons: Pop the balloons in order of number, not size.

2. Knock the blocks: Knock blocks out from a tower so that they match up to a given number.

3. King of the basket: Watch as differently colored balls are thrown towards a basket, and guess which color is the most plentiful.

Identify

1. Paint the picture: With the given painting, place items in the correct location to match them exactly with the example.

2. Trail the train: Lay down tracks for a train to reach its destination.

3. Animated difference: Watch a group of animated pictures and choose which one is different from the rest.

- You can practice each one as much as you like

- Each one has 3 difficulty levels

- Records are kept in a Personal Record Book

- You can send your Record Book to firends via Wi-Fi

- You can attach a Mii to your Record Book

- Remote's speaker is used as a coach, speaking words of encouragement

- The speaker is also used in some mini-games ( Mimicking a telephone call, the Wiimote will start ringing until you press the A button to "pick up" the call, and then a random person will call with a lunch order. After the order, you have to choose the dishes from a checklist before time runs out)

- Multiplayer Modes, up to 8 player

Race mode, where players compete to see who can finish the most exercises in the shortest span of time.

Survival mode is a one-mistake-and-you're-through type of deal

Panic Panel, twelve exercises are chosen at random, and players take turns completing them for points. The better you do, the higher the points. There are also point multipliers and random exercises that are not found in the single player game, such as the aforementioned "lunch order" exercise

I'm really looking forward to this now. Should be cool. Like a bit of taxing mental challenges in games now and again.

jesus if the awful looking dog island scored higher than this, it must be bad...

Reasons

- They can't unsderstand some of it

- It's too expensive, should be a £20 title (like the DS versions)

- The minigames they do understand are a bit too easy to "master"

I can see the review

pros:

Some games are fun

cons:

lack of games

Only 2 player similtaneous!?

no graphic enhancement over ds version

Should be budget

well not exactly like that but you know.

closing comments: Like cooking mama this is a very bad ds to wii conversion. i'm not even sure the non-gamers woul enjoy this
